The show display law has a list of cars that are not accepted and the R34 is on that list.
This is NOT a MotoRex vehicle. It is one of the Kaizo/nissanie cars. SP engineering have a MotoRex R32 and R33 GTR but their 34 is Again NOT a MotoRex vehicle. I’m currently tracking down and documenting all 120 Skyline GTR/GTS imported by Motorex and they imported a “known” 16 cars.
@@DrivewayDemons the ONLY r34 models eligible for show and display exemption are the 1999 MNP II cars and the 2002 Mspec Nür. The SP engineering car is neither one of the two eligible. Kaizo car.

+Kimbo Slice Actually, this car is most likely not bond released ie it is not a Motorex car. Last time I checked Motorex never imported a gunmetal gray BNR34. Oh, and there is a maximum of 14 Motorex BNR34's in all of the US; not 15. Any others are not bond released or were bond released through government corruption.
you smuggle cars like this into the states, pay an agency for a title and you're good to go. But wait till the Federal government hears about it - it will be seized, crushed or exported and the owner will be sent to jail.

@@robertdemeo there’s some truth, and misinformation to your statement. While You’re correct that this isn’t a MotoRex vehicle(Kaizo car) MotoRex had imported a few silver R34 GTR. Also, the know number of cars has increased to 16. I believe there are a max of 20. Also, what are your sources? I’m currently tracking down and documenting every skyline imported by MotoRex and would like to know where you got your info.

I have no idea how many times i've watched this video....
if its a built engine, with turbos, and tuned 1000 is attainable. i mean with turbo it comes down to pressure/how much an engine can take. a miata engine can push out 450 hp turbo with off the shelf kits, and is by no means advanced.

They're really good with 6 cylinder nissans, but lambos etc. They held the world record for quickest gtr for a while before ams took it back.

im from the uk we specialize in japanese performance mostly RB's and SR's. and the uk is the only country other then japan to receive the r33 and r34 officially and i never said i build RB's i work for the company.
You can own an R34 but you can not drive it on the open road if you had bought it at japan and shipped to the US. The reason is because it doesn't meet "safety standards" You would have to modify it and i dont know if this is correct but i heard it was $25,000 to mod? dont take my work for it though.
but for all we know this could be on low boost and it makes 1000hp on full boost it is quite common to have 2 different set ups
I was told that if you're in the army or air force or other service branch & if you're stationed overseas and you buy a car over there. You can actually transport the car back to the state's, even a skyline or any right hand drive car.

Nice setup I got my gtr r32 on 850awhp as daily on very low conservative boost and high is 1250 2.8L hks step 3 272/272 I would like to eventually do time attack but I'm working on being efficient enough for daily and scca little stuff in Ohio have fun tq steer is CRAZY 🤪 ALSO DO A ANTI SQUAT KIT I RECOMEND IT
R34 GTR.. just absolutely shits on my 2004 M3. Dream car, always has been, always will. First is Godzilla, then comes the F430 Scuderia huehue... looks like my ~360bhp M3 with the N/A S54 motor will have to do for now ;) love her to death, also have a 2014 370z w/ the VQ37.. a mini godzilla so to speak, happy driving ///Mates!

why does this r34 sound more like an m3? normally the rb26 sounds different
my guess is an exhaust with either no mufflers or cat converters or maybe even without both as well as a stage 1 cam
It's the exhaust manifold's, it sounds more like the factory twin setup because it's probably has short runners like the factory items, most people making big power with RB series engines go to single turbo and generally longer runners on the exhaust manifold sounds better.

a buddy of mine has a turbo car about 600 and his car as been running strong and getting beat on for 54,000miles so far & all he has done is basic maintence like oil change and spark plugs & basic stuff like that. A 2JZ comes with Forged Rods from the factory so no conrod is going to go flying. If you have a crappy setup then yes it will be an issue but with reliable parts a turbo can can be just as reliable as a N/A factory stock vehicle. just depends on how well youve built your engine
Motorex, which is now long gone, imported a few back when they were legal. If you somehow manage to find one they go for quite the money. There was an R32 down for sale in Cali making aprox 600hp and it was going for $30,000. If you want one now, you must wait 25 years from the original production date of the car. In 2014, you will be able to Import the first batch of 1989 R32 GTRs. The R34s started selling in '99 so you can get your hands on one in 2024.
oh well its a on board diagnostics system and lets you scan the computer(DEQ as well bassically) for any problems as well as other things, anyways r33 and r34 skylines do not have this, r32s are exempt if i remember but then again i may be wrong...anyways motorex was a company that imported skylines and did all the paper work and would get you a bond release and dot certified ...anyways they are no more message me if you want to know. look up american skyline and the guys user name is danox574
@71fabulous special? to each their own. to legalize an R32 or R34 you have to invest over $100k to PROPERLY satisfy the US customs, DOT, EPA, NHTSA and Crash Tests to lay the groundwork for others to easily import those two chassis.
The R33 is the only Skyline available for legalization, and even then, its going to cost an arm and a leg to install the proper safety equipment AFTER all of the above have been approved.
You do know that Nissan has stated that with the stock internal componets. A change of turbos from smaller to larger ones, removal of the engine restricter and 98 octane the RB26 can make over 550hp. a 2JZ can do 600hp. With factory internals. change the components to some higher grade stuff. which isnt that hard and you can easily make 800hp. Also the RB26 block and withstand over 1200hp with no block modifications. Again. you dont truely know if this is 1000hp or not. too me it looks 1000.
That would mean the kit includes a chip or ecu, turbo(s) injectors etcetc. With a stock ECU it would hit boost cut if the car comes stock with a turbo, And the injectors wouldn't get be able to push out enough fuel even maxed out. My R32 Skyline is only pushing out 300rwhp on stock injectors afm and ecu. That's gotta be a pretty good off the shelf kit.

Our laws are bullshit and contradict one another greatly. One of the best Aston Martins do date won't be making it into this country because it didn't meet crash safety. It's an Aston Martin damn it. It's quality. And The Skyline my favorite sports car I can't even grab the oldest of the 3 being the R32. :(
@71fabulous I see where you're coming from, but from PRACTICAL standpoint, no one would be stupid enough to spend that amount of money unless they really wanted these cars stateside BEFORE the 25year importation rule.
I can wait until the R32 hits its 25th birthday in 2013 for the 1989 model year at the earliest. But it would still cost well over $50k

Yea thats true. I rather enjoyed this talk. People should know that the 2JZ came with some special parts. Only reason it makes 280hp is because Japan had rules that only allowed 280hp and a certain amount of emissions. If it weren't for that they would have been pushing 500+hp from factory :)
If you can get them through customs, you can make them state legal. They can never be federally legal, unless the car is 25+ years old then it's considered 'exempt' from meeting federal requirements. They still try to give you a hard time even with antiques & classics.
yes it can be, but flutter on a car like this would be the waste gate actuator as its trying to shut back up with pressure still trying to hold it open, turbo flutter from lack of "BOV" usually makes a constant are noise, they dont really flutter like bov's and waste gates do
It doesn't pick up its skirts and go until 5500 rpm. Tuning the RB26 to be so peaky is fun, for sure, but giving up the bottom end is a compromise that is a PITA for the road. I'd so much rather have the hks vcam and a setup where it climbs on boost at 3000 and something.
