It makes sense that so many pundits and road fans look at Tom and say he was overrated/overpaid/underperforming. INEOS hired him embracing multi discipline. INEOS has photo op’s to use with a rider with significant wins this year whether they are in road or not. The team did not support Tom any more than Tom supported the team so quit talking about him being selfish- it’s business and both sides are looking out for themselves. Going to 36.5 allows Tim to continue working with Pinarello - a relationship that saw him help to develop at killer XC mt bike without creating a rift by riding for a team on another brand ( individual equipment sponsorship for free on Pinarello’s part since team owner now owns the bike brand). Tom gets to go chase whatever he wants in terms of disciplines. Haters gotta hate so if you only ride road it’s an outrage. If you ride road, gravel and mt bike you probably get Tom a bit better. And if any of you could make excellent money doing whatever the heck you want you’d do it too.
Just heard that Pidcock will be riding Pinarello on MTB & Cyclocross. Also, I think that the Classics, one day races and possibly a few selective one week races could reap dividends for Pidcock.🤔
About TP not being a team player, they said that about TPog last season. At any rate, he is the GC rider not the director sportif. He is the highest ranking rider, but he is not the equivalent of a quarterback. It is not TPids job to call the plays. The DS has the numbers. It is up to him to say stay with the peloton until 60km and then joe, jack, and jim lead out to the hill etc.
It was obvious Pidcock had zero willingness to ride for anyone on the team other than Tom Pidcock. This doesn't bode well for cohesiveness and morale for the team. A clean break and morale building was the only way to go. Pidcock is now the big fish in the Q36.5 pond. The team will be built to serve his interests. Can he deliver? Possibly if he selects his races judiciously. But, I'm not putting any money on it.
Many of these pros are too complacent when training on the open roads, resulting in crashes. You should always be on high alert when training/riding solo on open roads.
Just looked at Pidcock's new Team and there's quite a few Olds on there and some unknowns. Hmmm.... Hope he's not going to need Team Mates in these Classics at the pointy end of the races.
INEOS has become a toxic corporate environment with a board that don't understand cycling interfering with their team decisions. Ask Luke Rowe and Steve Cummins. Losing Luke as a potential DS is their biggest negative of 2024. Media interest is bigger for a team than results and 80% of the media interest just went to Q36.5.
This is disappointing cycling coverage. TJ talked about the Pitcock situation like he didn’t know anything that has actually been going on. This sounded more like 2 causal fans talking about a headline they read once
Aged? He's 25! And you are also being disingenuous here by looking at quantity rather than quality. Only one of these wins was non WT, and the others were Strade, Brabaantse Pil, Amstel and Alpe D'Huez. Most riders would kill to achieve that by 30, let alone by 25 while winning 2 Olympic Golds and a Worlds on the MTB and the Worlds on the Cyclo Cross bike.

Good show guys

The honest question is why INEOS said: go on Tom, now ride CX and MTB for as long as you like!
Maybe the headline should be why don't Ineos want Pidcock.

TJay put a pad of paper in a pin next to you and when you have thoughts write them down. Commentating 101.
Noted
Ineos did not believe that they were getting their money's worth out of Pidcock.
Christian and Tejay - the Festrunk Brothers
NBC sports, send tee jay some decent mic, lighting, and camera. His set up is ghetto lol
Ineos is where talented juniors go to stagnate.
Tom is a great rider but not a team player. But INEOS need to get there heads out of there asses! STAT!!!

Neither of these guys is very good at TV
INEOS were overpaying Pidcock based on the results he produced. End of.
INEOS has everything except the best GC rider
❤ get
Twinsies!
Backstreet's back, alright
Pidcock - the aged guy in a road team with 5 victories in 4 years… a star??? 😂😂😂
Ah, the classic ignorant roadie. He was signed as a multi discipline rider - and delivered in all disciplines. Look it up......
@ nope. He even went to a MTB World Cup race this year despite INEOS said no.

Deffo a clueless roadie!
@ sure. A road UCI ranking top 30 rider goes MTB and dominates it. Tells you something about MTB …
Well this was boring! Like... watching ants eating a sandwich boring and absolutely no information
If you combine Tejay and Christian, you almost get a full brain…almost
I like Tejay.
@ he’s a great guy, but an awful commentator. That’s all
