- The famous Toccata by Charles Marie Widor. It must be one of the most, if not THE most, famous organ work of all time for the church organ. In this video played on my Hauptwerk Organ on Caen by Sonus Paradisi.
I wanted to share this recording and wish you all a very happy Easter. Thank you for all of your support and kindness.

All the best,
PHILIP
The tempo is perfect! Most musicians play this wonderful piece way too fast. I also like the sample set you've chosen. Thank you for sharing!
That’s awesome to hear. Much appreciated!
Perfect tempo! I love a slower tempo because you can really hear how intricate and delicate Widor's writing is. Beautiful interpretation, friend - thank you SO much!!!!!
Oh, you're so very kind! What a wonderful comment to read. So glad you liked it.
the lightness of being and pure, unadulterated joy. You show yourself as one of the few. You understood how to design. Unique and correct. You are a true Interpreter. Thank you. I missed it so since i was young.
I appreciate your kind comment 🙏🏻
Majestuoso. Gracias Phillip-
You’re very welcome Jose!!
Perfect tempo, not rushed like others like it is a 'race' to get to the end, doing that misses out on the sheer grace of the piece, a slower tempo allows you to wallow in all it's majestic glory.
So encouraging to read your kind words. Yes I also feel it mustn’t be rushed. This tempo feels natural to me
Wow…Wow…and…WOW This is awesome!!! I love this piece and to hear it performed so intuitively is overwhelming! Total respect for your craft . Thank you Philip ❤🎹🤗
Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words as always Linda!!!

Dear Marie. Always so kind. Thank you so much for your kindness!
Thank you so, so, much Philip. Widor’s Toccata is my absolute number one work for the organ. You played it masterfully and I am thoroughly enjoying listening to it and will do so many times. Take care my favourite organist.
Yaaay! Thank you Tony!!!
Remember this been played as a speaker demo at a UK Hi Fi show in the 70's. Great tempo Philip
I think that the Toccata doesn't need to be faster than this. Or else it looses some gravitas
@@philipaggesen I know that a recording a good friend made (commercial SACD) of Wayne Marshall playing it at a blistering tempo🙁
@@peterallison5021You should listen to the recordings of Diane Bish playing it 😂
Beautiful and Amazing piece maestro !!! 🥰🎼🎧🎶🌹 Thank you Philip !!! 💝🙏😘✨👍
Thank you so much irina!
Absolutely extraordinary!
So kind of you to write that Carlo! Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻
You’re a genius to have transcribed this piece so stupendously well for the organ, as only you could have! An incredible effort. Thank you!! It is perfect!!🙏🕊✝️🕊🛐🕊🙏
This piece was written for organ. It’s not a transcription.
Yes, Andrew is completely right
I apologise for any confusion. I am very well aware that this Symphony by C. M Widor was composed specifically for the organ and this message somehow made it into this performance in error. I was not in fact meaning for this message to be sent to this artist. I began writing it whilst listening to the previous artist Johnathan Scott concerning a piece that he had arranged from an instrumental symphony to be played instead as an organ solo. One of his talents’ specialities, however despite the crossover of my finishing having written my appreciation to Johnathan, it inadvertently found it’s way into this piece‘S slot the Tocatta from his fifth symphony. This does not normally happen and indeed, I did not realise to my horror that it had crossed over to the artist following Johnathan’s performance. I felt like such a fool when I received this obvious error and I am still none the wiser as to why something I was writing to another artist during his performance managed instead to cross over to the artist following. I hope for my piece of mind and your rightful indignation, that this explanation will see an end to any further misunderstanding and confusion. Thank you. Kent Bloxham 🙏🕊✝️🕊🛐🕊🙏
right tempo i think, chilled fingers, perfect! "The Bolero (Ravel) for Organ" 😂
