As normal great video...Surprised not to see a recommendation for a Apron..or maybe I was selfishly hoping to see a recommendation for a cool Apron... :) thanks and Merry Christmas
@@SmokingDadBBQ the grill blazer site has one, but I just went on Amazon. I also got an adapter to refill the 1lb tank from a 20lb tank but haven’t tried it out yet.
Great video James! And of course, I’m all about the Smoke North offset as a gift! Mine is coming soon! Would love to get my hands on one of those Meater blocks to compliment my Meater+
I have a classic and joe jr and am so torn. I feel like I need a big joe. Your sharing of accessories argument is so true. Also torn on the price difference between BJ1 to BJ3. How do you get the Fogo charcoal ? They don't ship to Canada. Smokeware shipping is also super expensive. Thanks for all your videos
For users with my setup, the cast iron grate for the jr fits in the bottom of the classic as a sear plate. I also didn't want double accessories but wanted a tailgater.
Great video with useful 😉ideas James....you mentioned a lot of these suggestions in earlier videos so a lot of them are already “in the pocket”😇 love the soapstone, the joetisserie (the Kamado Joe basket is arriving tomorrow) and Meater block. Dalstrong Shogun fillet knife is also ordered and never thought of Dalstrong knifes until your videos. Keep firing them up 👍🏽
Some ideas I didn’t have time to mention, lodge Dutch oven 5qt fits in the x ring, whiskey barrel smoke chunks, charcoal basket, butchers twine, butchers paper, mason jars for storing tallow, pizza peel or metal prep pans, salt container, grill cleaning brush, outside grill cleaning brush kit and simple green
@@SmokingDadBBQ ...seems that we need a bigger boat😅😂 love the Jucago grill premium RVS brush....wired so no steel particles on your grill and when dipping it in hot water it cleans very well👍🏽
Excellent Suggestions! I second the votes for quality shakers by @augustine becerril and might even add a nice premium spritzer for the low end. Mid-tier who could go wrong with quality cast iron grates (for those who don't have them) already or the Thermapen? A few of these you've mentioned in the video I recently acquired for the holiday feasts that are upon us - Joetisserie + Meater Block being one set (love the ThermaQ WiFi but the cables of course are limiting).
Great video, would love to see a video on the big Joe 3 , doing 6 pork bits or however many you can do on the big Joe 3 . And maybe cook at a lower temp around 225 . I am currently a big green egg guy . XL, L, and Mini Max . But you have taught me a lot of good pointers.
As the Nitrile Gloves from Clean Space Project are shipped from the US, any guidance on sizing? Does XL work best when layered with the heat proof gloves underneath? What about on their own? -- I'd like to not end up swimming in the gloves :)
if you're in canada like me, request USPS not UPS or you need to self clear... customs with UPS costs more than the gloves I have Xl and the gloves underneath
Great video again James. I was just wondering if you could do a video where you combine cooking a few different cuts on the same fire? Say, for a larger crowd where you want to provide a variety of meats? Also any chance on getting some tips to cooking vegetables/ salads? Love your videos- keep them coming!
Good idea. Will add some of those in the meantime here is a brisket, Pork and chicken cook on one grill for some ideas ruclips.net/video/gXNGfm2kzSE/видео.html
Do you find it easier to manage temps on the bigger sizes? I’ve been using a jr for about 6 months now and it’s been an absolute nightmare😅. I build the fire like you and it passes the hand test but once I install the heat deflector and grid I can’t get it above 200 without opening the bottom vent all the way.
Hey James, I’m seriously considering the pepper cannon. What’s the best way to order it in Canada? Amazon at a premium price or from their website and risk paying duties? Curious if you have an opinion/experience.
James, the link for the FOGO doesn't give you the option to enter a Canadian shipping address. I'm in Ontario, where do you buy your FOGO premium from?
James, thanks I enjoyed the show. But I always have a comment! I have 3 injection things and hate them, I squirt juice on myself with regularity. This year I splurged and bought the Spitjack injector (around $130). It is fantastic! It holds a lot, you can see in it and you can meter your injections. Look at it on Amazon. I bet you won’t be able to resist 😂
@@SmokingDadBBQ it really is cool. There are five setting to control how much liquid is injected each time the trigger is pulled, giving you a lot of control
For the dripware pan, do you think the largest one for the classic is okay? It's bigger in diameter than the sloroller, do you think that's an issue? The benefit of that is that it will catch more but not sure if it has a negative affect on the smoke or anything
When you covered the meter block on your list you seemed to have put it in the $100 category. I know that you're in Canada and so am I. So, do you know something that I don't? Every time I've looked it up to buy it it has been upwards of $400.
Great gift ideas for the outdoor cook. I have all the items below or around $100 and would second the usefulness of these gifts. I would like to get a pizza oven, but I gain weight just looking a pizza. How in the world do you stay so thin?
I would do the soapstone, a jr charcoal basket; and optional smokeware cap for more stable vent settings when opening / adding rain protection, a cover for long term outdoor storage to stop it freezing up in rain, a small 10” drip pan which I did include in the video for the jr
Ah, man, does that Meater discount code not work anymore? 10 percent off the block would be amazing. When I try to check out, it says "SMOKINGDADBBQ23A discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart". Just to try, I also tried it with the base and plus, and it didn't work there. If there's another code coming down the road, I'll definitely hold off & wait for that. Thanks for the great videos!
Fantastic list James thanks for the the ides Cheers.
Nice list sir! The high temp gloves are a great one!! 🔥🔥🔥
Good stuff, James! Handheld temperature probe is another universal must have for any grill/smoking enthusiast

Great gift ideas! I have most of them …. Hoping for the joe-tisserie basket for Christmas!

Great gift ideas! Really love the coal for Christmas, I almost lost my drink!!
Happy holidays!
Great video! Wish I had your budget.
A RUclips video makes about 50 so I have a small chance of paying some of these things off with videos which helps / is unique
Great list James, I also recommend large shakers to distribute those amazing home dry bribes and rubs!
Good idea
Great ideas James! I ended up getting the 8’ adapter hose for my grillgun so I can use a 20lb tank instead of burning through the small ones 😂
I’d love to see more content with the soapstone!
Where did you find the adaptor

Not sure what province you're in but Dickson BBQ (Ontario) carries it.
I’ve ordered all my Fogo and furtado farms wood from dicksons as they ship to home really cheap and it saves me going to Toronto

Any update on smokeware pans. Do you know if the ones on their website 1 7/8 height are the thinner versions
Awesome ideas, I'd be happy to get some fancy whiskey barrel wood chips etc
I got mine locally but I think they are Amazon too. They work great in the joe jr
Awesome video as always! FYI, meater blocks are closer to $350 but who’s counting when it’s a Christmas present to yourself! 😂
lol i was thinking more the basic meater for the 100 but yes the block is pricey

Hey James, where did you buy your team red jacket from please?
This one is from Walmart

Hey James! Which meat injector do you have?
i think the one here eventually broke the needle, i bought a spit jack on amazon this past year and its working well
@SmokingDadBBQ thank you for the reply!
Hey James, I’m seriously considering the pepper cannon. What’s the best way to order it in Canada? Amazon at a premium price or from their website and risk paying duties? Curious if you have an opinion/experience.

Dickson BBQ has it.
Dickson is where I ordered mine
@@SmokingDadBBQ is the shipping $18.00 for you as well? That's what it said when I went to shipping calculator. I'm close to London.
@@Kyle-nj1gz the price change mid year. Before April I was paying 7 shipping on 5 bags now it’s almost 15 with mixed items including wood

Great video! My suggestion for the drip pan: don't use aluminium foil, hot water, soap and steel wool do the trick.
I’m lazy. Toss the foil and it’s ready to go again
Good stuff in there, but I would add various iterations of the ThermaPen, FireBoard Spark instant read, etc. Gotta have an instant read.
100%. In my attempt to stay under 5 I missed some great options. As they were in last years I skipped this year but agree
