Smokey is spot-on about the Pepsi accident changing the trajectory of Michael's life. Having to take the pain killers is what started the prescription pill issues. One thing I'd say, though, is that Michael was being taken advantage of by AEG. They knew he wasn't feeling well, and they didn't care.

The only problem is he owed so much money and it's like MJ said it was just business. We cant agree with MJ that it was just business then be upset when someone else treats it as such. I definitely hate that he had so many people around him who wanted something from him because that's what killed him. He could have spent all the money he wanted it was his, but all those people who sued him wrongly. Jordy and his family got 20 mil the Francia family victor Gutierrez owed him 2mil when he fled to keep from paying him.. all the lawyer fees he could have kept, all of the sleep he lost etc.. neverland 5 when he counter sued them. The people who claimed he stole their song. Like MJ said they knew in their heart that they didnt write those songs

      @lisahays9226 Год назад +22

@@heavenawilson7271 @Heavena Wilson i dont disagree it definitely made him look guilty he said in his 2005 trial it was his biggest regret
He had the opportunity to make it go away if it's what he wanted to do when Evan Chandler first accused him of it. If MJ didnt give him money he would go to the authorities. He could have just paid the money but he knew he wasnt guilty of anything and he knew he would win in court. Also evan being recorded and saying he would get everything he wanted and didn't care how it all affected Jordy, him saying what kind of lawyer he chose and for what reason made them look incredible. Even tom meseareu said had they fought in 93 he would have won because they had no case. Why go through that much to make the civil trial fo before the criminal? Then they kept trying to get more money
Did you know that the settlement was for negligence and paid by his insurance company? They would have lost billions of dollars and been drawn out 5 to 7 years. Mj tried to fight the case but his lawyers advised him not to. His problem was that because they let the civil trial go first the other side had access to all of his info and could change dates and do whatever just to dit their narrative. The case could have still landed him in prison. They sued him civilly and even after they got the money they could have proceeded with a criminal trial but they. Chose not to. The discription of his penis that the young man gave also did not match he one said he was circumcised but MJ was not he also described the marking wrong. Has since said MJ never touched him and legally will fight anyone who comes after him.

What Smokey is saying is true.
MJ definitely didn't like being told "NO". And I've heard this from MULTIPLE people who was around MJ.
BUT, I want people to try and understand from Michaels POV.
    And smokey alluded to this,
Since being a young child, Michael NEVER had full control of his life.
Between Motown/Berry Gordy, Hollywood business, and his father Joseph-- Michael was ALWAYS told what to DO, what to SAY, what NOT to do and what NOT to say....since the age of 5. There were plenty of these people telling him No, dont to this and that.
and some of that included normal kid stuff...that they said he couldnt be apart of because he was now a big commodity for alot of these money hungry Hollywood people.
He never had any say in his own life.
So when he was finally able to break free, he wanted full control of his life. He was tired of people telling him what to do and what he couldnt do.
Now I'm not saying he didn't make some bad choices, but imagine being told what to do well into your adult life and not being able to make decisions for yourself??
Unfortunately he made Alot of bad decisions and distanced himself some of those people he NEEDED to hear 'NO' from...but can you blame him...?
MJ being robbed of a normal childhood, in addition to the 'abuse' he suffered as a child really had its effect on him.
Mike was too sensitive and not mentally ready for alot of that stuff he went throught at that early of an age. But he was tough....make no mistake about it.
Any other person woulda 'self deleted' as they say....
    Michael was definitely wired different.

That wasn't the case for Michael...
And being in the Hollywood life, you are bombarded with people you don't even know controlling your life.
What to wear, what to say In interviews, you can't go here, you can't play outside, etc...
You can't be a normal kid. This happened to Michael well into his early adult years...

She said she would always be honest with MJ and remind him not to lose who he truly was. He stopped speaking to her because she became a No person just like Smokey hinted at. He keeps telling Glenda how he can't tell who to trust. Even with women his main issue is trust and not love. Before everything he had to knoe if he can trust a woman. No wonder he let Lisa Marie go after he found out she lied to him. She broke rule No1 with MJ. No matter hoe mich they loved each other, the thing was over becasue of lack of trust.

That's isolating...almost like solitary confinement in a sense. Born in '91 (my bday is Aug. 29th so I do share that with MJ) so obviously I wasn't around for the Pepsi fire and whatnot. However, from the countless documentaries, specials, biopics, interviews, etc. I wager one of MANY reasons that Michael 'divorced' himself from his family was due to the fire. Think about it, he wanted to go solo before age 18. His mother said in one interview that MJ may want to go solo because he doesn't need his brothers, but his brothers need him.
I don't know the exact details of course, but based on The American Dream biopic, MJ didn't want to do the Pepsi run with The Jacksons post-Motown 25. Heck, the Victory Tour is what prevented him from doing a Thriller tour. Putting his family ahead of his own wants is what lead to his hair catching fire and well I sure as heck wouldn't want to be the family breadwinner if it almost killed me...I think that was when he first started getting drawn (I don't wanna say addicted) to the usage of pills to ease whatever pain or whatnot he was experiencing later in life.

Michael also did not have any plate in his head, he had surgery to repair his burned scalp which his own hair eventually grew over it. Patches of his hair started to fall out from lupus which led to the wigs, but he was not bald.

Wow....I am loving this interview with Smokey! He is so Honest and Straightforward with his answers!! And I too can attest to the wonders of Propofol. The first time I had it for a medical procedure, I woke up feeling the same way as Smokey described! I was energized and felt like a brand new person, as opposed to feeling hung over like with other drugs used when I had to go under. And after that first time, whenever I have anything that requires me to go under....I ask for it by name, LOL!! I had a Colonoscopy about a year or so ago, and I asked the Doctor if they could give me Propofol, and he told me that it's the only Anesthesia they use, unless a person requires something else! He said that they use it Exclusively because it works so well!!

@@karneykoolin Yes, maybe so! But I only use it as the Anesthesia "Of Choice" on those occasions when I need to go under! I never would dream of using it Recreationally. And I would never use it outside of a hospital setting with highly skilled and trained professionals administering it to me!!

Kudos to DJ vlad for interviewing legends like Smokey Robinson. So many questions for a man who was apart the revolution that was the 20th century. I want to shake both dudes when i still have a chance.

MJ excluding people who said no was part of why and how he broke so many boundaries in music and life. to him there was nothing that was unachievable, he even had plans to moonwalk on the moon
