I love the homage to stars from the silver screen era a la Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Lana Turner, Hedy Lamarr, Ava Gardner and Diana Doors and many more. You can do so much with a character like these starlets, all the nuances of glamour and ego are perfect for wrestling.
I wonder if Toni is an actual fan of Golden Age Hollywood movies. That closing "Timeless" rant in particular looked like she was channeling the late, great Gloria Swanson's portrayal of Norma Desmond.

On the female side of AEW storylines there's two that stick out as good to me and both have lead to nothing much. Jade and her streak and Julia Heart and her decent from a happy go lucky cheerleader to a mistress of darkness, too bad Julia is mostly looks and little talent. I wish they'd do something to further the story there because a good story elevates all
Wrestling, at its core, and absolute best, is about the spectacle. Whether that be giant men, little people, or even better, the stories that these characters bring to life. People respond to the show and this is wrestling at its absolute best. The commitment to the character, attention to even the slightest details, how the characters play off each other. Then you add real in-ring wrestling ability, this is absolute gold from Toni Storm. Even in the dialogue, there is so much truth to what some would easily dismiss as the rantings of a "mad lady" (the character she is playing. But she alludes to many truths within the wrestling business, even going as far as noting that she has to "remind them that I am a star" and "things were easier in the old days." A masterpiece.
Toni is really doing amazing character work seeing her get to shine in this light for AEW to give her that ball and run with his show how much they believe in her that is really great. If this doesn’t lead to crossover work for her in Hollywood I’ll be shocked.
