It was 1996, Mall of America in Bloomington MN, I was witness to pros playing inside the Great American Sports Bar. Psh it was unreal. Dudes were incredible and even used their feet just f’in around and scored at will on challengers. They told me they were there for a tournament.
I know this is going to sound crazy but I play a lot and have realized I have instinctively developed a very similar style of game play as these two. Obviously not as fast or precise, but I could see myself getting up to this level if I committed to it. I just had no idea there was a pro circuit!!! This video blew my mind in that regard. I may have to consider signing up for some tournaments!!
I started playing food in high school, 70-74. Continued throughout my university years 74-78. "Tournament Soccer" brand tables were common then and they supported o professional players tour. My play level got good enough to keep me in free beers pretty regularly. Played a local tournaments for a few years and did ok. I Had so much fun. This brought back many great memories. So good to see the game continues at this level. Some excellent players here.Thank
I always knew there is probably some very good players in this but never in a million years would of thought it would be this good. I thought good players just be blasting it nonstop but wow they literally playing a real game of football, passing it side to side, slowly getting the ball up there. Amazing
Haha I remember the first time I experienced competitive foosball was in Paris in a bar. I spent a summer there and lived above a bar I would frequent every night & would watch people play very similarly to this. It was insane! LOL. They taught me some tips too haha
I usted to play this in the mid-late 90s. In older, bigger, stronger and iron-made tables! My scorers were mostly the 2 defenders and the right-winger (front line/row) who did the kill shot, ha. I didn't use the middle line to attack, just to pressure the rival exit. As a right-handed, my 'best ability' was to cross hands. In order to use the goalkeeper (with my right hand) against a stronger/older rivals.
I think in pro level its a rule not to score with the middle. There's more to it though. 2 players or 4 players. Can't remember as it's also from the 90's ago. *edit: I see them score with the middle so yeah. We probably made it a house rule as it was a bit of a cheap shot 😆
This is the beauty of the internet and RUclips… sitting in my living room and watching these masters compete at this level! As an avid casual player, this was fascinating to watch! I didn’t know it could be played at this level!
My dad bought me a table when I was a kid, and by the time I was thirteen I hadn't lost to anyone in my neighborhood in 2 years, but if I were to play either of these two I'd be done in 6 minutes. Absolutely next level.
same boat. in nyc there is a local competitive fooseball club and I got humbled 😂 you'll find you'll be able to put up a good fight and score points, but taking a best out of 3 the skill gap starts to show
I used to play this in the mid-late 90s. In those older, bigger, stronger, iron-made tables! 😁 My scorers were mostly the 2 defenders (75% of the rivals do not control their defense/Keeper, when you use your defense-line to shot) + the right-winger (front line/row) who did most of final crossing-shots. I didn't use much the middle line, just to pressure the rival exit. As a right-handed, my 'best ability' was to cross hands. In order to use the goalkeeper (with my right hand) against stronger/older rivals. We could be playing for hours! Oh god, i miss those days. 😔
