Kingston Town was, and still is, the most remarkable Racehorse that ever raced in this country. I don't think we will ever see another one like him in our lifetimes.

Kingston Town in the 1980 Tancred was simply unbelievable. I saw this race, when KT went past Double Century, I thought he broke down but Double Century actually came second. Hard to believe any horse in history would have beaten KT that day.
It's a phenomenal win in the Tancred. His acceleration was on full show this day

The King's my favourite horse of all time and the best i've seen. I just hate how every time i watch one of his races people have to bring up who's better Winx or the King . Just enjoy how truly great the Black Horse was.

Very Well said Robert!! Let's just Enjoy and remember both of them for the Freakish Champions they were mate. IIIIII HATE comparing Eras. But, IFF they raced at the same time and I had 5k and could only back 1, I'D back Winx for sure. She'd never have flogged him but? I'd say she'd beat him from anything from a Nose too 1 length. That said we'll never know.
Full credit to Tommy Smith, he took him all over Australia, raced him from 1200 -3200m, didn't just hide him in WFA races like Winx and Black Caviar. No other horse can compare to the King in the past 50 years.

!200 -3200. Watch him walk past Double Century in the Sydney Cup. Bloody amazing.
You just don't see many horses sit in the death chair in a derby and win this horse was a freak.
Winx is a great horse but she would be never be as great as the king.His cox plate wins can never be replicated.

The black horse was the best horse ive ever seen. Was at the valley when he won he's second cox plate.
@@iamtheeggman2026 Winx didn't have anywhere near the same turn of foot as the King. I haven't seen a horse like him since. Kingston Town would be off and gone at the 300m.

Winx never beat anything good.
Kingston Town was beating horses that had won Melbourne Cups. A tried and true champion.
Winx is good but not as good as this bloke was.
If winx can win 3 cox plates he has to be on par but I will say Kingston raced against better opposition and basically raced in every top race,the modern day champions are treated with kid gloves and protected like no other.The king took them all on and for the most part beat them.
Got to agree with that . Kid gloves. Look at Black caviar. Would be a brave man to say Winx is better than Kingston Town. !200 to 3200 . Amazing horse. I do think Winx is the best horse since Kingston Town

was on holiday from nz. and was at the valley to see him win his first cox plate. the best horse i ever saw took on all comers was no cotton wool champion like the modern day prima donnas
