@Ana Herron @diya @GamerDude431 I typed a 2 long page letter for the class of 2020 and their parents to read explaining why we should get our prom, etc instead of later. I copied and pasted it below, please screenshot or copy/paste into a doc, show it to your parents, friends, and their parents the following: Dear parents of high school graduates of 2020, It has been almost a year since the class of 2020 graduated from high school without any activities other than the drive-thru parade, at least from my high school. As the Class of 2021 is about to graduate soon, most of them will have a few of their activities in some form while the class of 2020 got less of it, which I believe is unfair unless we do it when we can. After such a difficult and divisive 12 months, we definitely deserve to have a reunion as soon as possible in almost the same form we would have had our senior activities. I would prefer not to have them sponsored by schools/school districts or to be at any high school campuses as we have already finished high school. It’s much better to do prom and other activities later instead of never. After the drive-by parade, I did feel good about myself in general, but after doing what I want to do that I would have done, I will feel even more better and accomplished about myself, just like other people would. Birthdays and holidays are once every year, it’s really no big deal that people couldn’t have gatherings/go to certain places that we like for those special days due to COVID because we have done it many times in the past, and we can soon continue to do it again for many years to come. Everyone only graduates once each from elementary, middle, high schools, and college once in their entire lifetimes, and high school and college graduations are the most valuable because they show significant steps of the graduates entering the real world. Because of those circumstances, we can celebrate last year’s high school graduates as soon as it is safe to have gatherings in person. For the past year, I have been having very mixed feelings every so often about whether or not we will even have these activities even though I would really like for them to happen. It keeps me and some others up at night every now and then. This means sometimes I am worried they may not have happened even after COVID, other times I think positive believing it will happen. We moved on from high school, however, the prom and other activities at the end of senior year is the most valuable part I don’t want to give up. Other people probably don’t want to as well. We have a chance to do it as the COVID situation improves. I am aware of people who would say things like “Move on”, “You already finished high school so be grateful for what you had”, ”Get over it”, ”it’s most likely not gonna happen because you finished high school already”, things like that. It’s funny how there’s people who think like that but it’s very sad too. I would not give into phrases like that, because I try to believe in thinking positively towards the future. I’m grateful for what I had last June, it was all we could do at the time, but I would like to have the other activities as soon as possible especially with the COVID situation on track to improve because it has been for the past few months and restrictions easing every now and then, hopefully by December 2021 at the latest when everyone is home from college. Maybe we could do it this summer depending on how the covid situation goes. As for anyone who owns a prom/ballroom venue, please start thinking about working with the class of 2020 on planning their proms. It may take up to 6 months to plan, maybe less. It all depends on how much it will cost and how many people are willing to plan, which I hope there will be some of them out there. While most classmates will be busy with studying and college life in the fall and maybe a class or 2 this summer for some, I feel that some parents would be down to try their best to make time to plan prom. Some classmates may be able to do some of it, who knows. It’s very unfortunate that there are some people who may not be able to make it because they are in military branches (marines, Air Force, navy, etc). For those who can’t, they will be greatly missed and there can be alternative options for them whenever they come home to make them feel accomplished. We highly honor their service and commitment to the United States. I had been hearing online about some colleges hosting a ceremony this year for last year’s grads. Actual ceremonies for last year’s high school grads would be a great idea too since we couldn’t all be together at once as a class! High school and college graduation ceremonies are truly valuable because turning the tassel together as a class would truly mean a lot. This would be the only event that some teachers and principals would be invited to as all events for the Class of 2020 will not be sponsored by any schools or school district. As for my high school, from what I think I remember, there were no speeches from the valedictorians, salutatorians, principal, a few students who were top leaders in ASB, and the inspirational teacher most people voted on to give a speech. For those who can’t make it because they are in a military branch, their family still deserves to be there and maybe different people can walk across the stage to represent those who couldn’t make it for that reason. As for Grad Nite at Disney California Adventure and other theme parks, they still deserve to celebrate the Class of 2020 after so long of not being able to! Plan A can be to do it similarly to how it would have been done last year but without chaperones, and it would be planned all over again but without schools/school districts being involved in any form. If that won’t happen, we always have Plan B, for smaller groups of classmates to go during their own times. Another part of Plan B is for all theme parks to offer discount admission to all high school graduates of 2020 (and of course 2021 because they didn’t get to have Grad Nite either) from whenever each theme park opens at full capacity all the way through the end of summer 2022. I believe that is a good choice because we don’t know when the theme parks will open at 100% and in our home states, we will have to see how things go after most (or all) covid restrictions get lifted, whether the mask mandate would still be in place or be removed. I live in California and a full reopening is tentatively scheduled for June 15, but the mask mandate will still remain in place indefinitely. For anyone who works for theme parks, especially ones at management positions, please start making plans to allow my class and this year’s class to later on come in and enjoy a fun time celebrating their accomplishments, maybe plan actual grad nites but definitely offer all of us discounts at least, especially Disneyland and California Adventure, where it’s expensive to go! Senior year is over, and it has been fun during the time it lasted in person. I have had good and bad experiences throughout high school, and I am grateful to have met so many of the people I met. I have not seen most of them in person anywhere or anytime since the first 3 months of 2020. Many of the people I know from high school are very valuable to me, including my acquaintances. We are all in this together and we will get through this together! Congratulations to the class of 2020! At least for now, I prefer not to reveal to a lot of people who I am, because of all of this I was saying, and once again because I would not want to draw attention to myself or criticism from people from people telling me to get over it and things like that. Let’s all start thinking about these activities because as soon as possible because summer is around the corner! Sincerely, A 2020 high school graduate from San Diego, California
After you hit 1M i decided to go back to the beginning and watch your first video! And girl, you have grown so much its honesty so inspiring and we're all proud of you x
There is hope everyone you will get your 2020 prom this year because in England lockdown restrictions for proms and weddings basically any event is being completely lifted

I graduated in 2019 as well. The only difference: I didn't attend my prom and saved about 300-400$ for everything. It was totally worth it. I don't regret anything. Had a beautiful day and went to the city😊
So excited for my formal in a few weeks (2021 graduate), I feel really bad for last years grads and people who cant have their formal/prom due to corona
oh wow, it’s all sounds and looks so exciting!!!✨🙌🏻 i wish graduating was like this in brasil lol and oh my gods i loved your dress AND makeup AND hair!!
Your prom looks soooo pretty and elegant!! My fucken prom was “next to the beach” literally the tables and chairs were placed on the sand and all the girls were sinking because of the heel. Then the dance area, was literally like a 10x10 stage. The DJ was horrible and the food, y’all don’t get me started! They served us fruit, mashed potato’s, and and a small chicken. Bruhhh.

I’m a 2020 senior and tomorrow was supposed to be my prom :( so now I’m binge watching prom grwm’s and wishing that was me:(
Fernanda Ramirez I did a little virtual prom with a few friends
same literally oml i just graduated last wednesday and it was so sad and i never in my 4 years expected graduation to be like that :(
I hope my school does a prom for seniors who missed it because of the shitty pandemic after this is all over ☹️😣😭
@Ana Herron @diya @GamerDude431 I typed a 2 long page letter for the class of 2020 and their parents to read explaining why we should get our prom, etc instead of later. I copied and pasted it below, please screenshot or copy/paste into a doc, show it to your parents, friends, and their parents the following:
Dear parents of high school graduates of 2020,
It has been almost a year since the class of 2020 graduated from high school without any activities other than the drive-thru parade, at least from my high school.
Sincerely,
A 2020 high school graduate from San Diego, California

Sincerely,
A 2020 high school graduate from San Diego, California
