it a mix have you heard Barbara mason that what her singing voice reminds me of just less southern sound with Flo range and belting power with a smoother tone Barbara different her tone is rough
I sure appreciate the acknowledgment of your music experts in her voice ….I always knew Carolyn Franklin could sing and not only make you feel her passion. She was so underrated with all her attempts. There seems to be no more rooms at the house for her and sister Erma.
the only thing similar is that it has the repeating motion. Franklin’s run is on the [æ] vowel, her run goes in steps where Mariah’s has a skip… hers ends right there while Mariah’s continues to climb up the scale near the end of it… They are objectively not “EXACTLY” the same, and by definition what *BOTH* of them are doing are *runs* regardless of if you favor one, both, or neither.
@@KajiVocals Yup, you sure have to. She's just amazing. Her high notes in chest voice were so insane back in the '80s, '90s, and even after 2000. And she even belted a high B in a recent virtual concert with her daughter and she's 70 now. The only thing she's lost at this age is breath control I guess cos she's not able to hold and slay the high notes as she used to before. Thanks for your consideration! :)
Raised larynx position is completely healthy and natural. Legit 90% of notes here are done with a raised larynx. People who say that higher larynx is bad fail to understand the mechanics of how the larynx actually works... If they knew, they wouldn’t be saying all this.
Her range is C3-G5-F7. Wonderful mezzo-soprano with a great middle range. Quite underused upper belt range though and head voice, but it's also rather good. Surprisingly easy and pleasant whistle register.

The Franklin sisters are all amazing high soprano belters!
Those were some sanging sisters. Carolyn's voice reminds me so much of Florence Ballard's.
yes !! very underrated

I knew she could sing but I never knew her voice was this beautiful
Thank you so much for this Kaji
No problem! Likely many more videos on my channel you’d enjoy!
Love her upper extension mixes!!!!!
Her voice is beautiful just like her sister Aretha 🤩✨
A family of high belting sopranos is what I’m here for
Most sibling singers that are females I feel like are sopranos from what I’ve heard tbh
i love her 5th octave belting!!! sounds like she's doing it casually and the words are so clear and understood

Love her upper extension E5 and above!!
Have you seen her performance of goin circles live 😩 because it's mind blowing good
Where can I watch that? I didn't see it looking it up on youtube
Such a great belter
She has an amazing vocal range anybody agree
Thank you so much for this Kaji ❤️
Had she still been alive she would’ve definitely been belting equally as Good & consistently as Patti Labelle !!!! No doubt.
One of the best belting technique.
1:32 miss gurl is spitting out low notes like they are nothing and im not complaining lol
10|:40 IS EXACTLY the so called Mariah run on vision of love but done with far more finesse...and seems faster and more agile

The sisters had the voice on their blood 😩
The Franklin sisters>>>>
Can we plz get a pace sisters vocal range
Lace Sisters? 👀
@@KajiVocals pace I mean
she had a clearer tone than Aretha
Aretha was a major smoker. But Carolyn overall had a better vocal technique so there’s that too.
16:16-16:29 OMG. Btw what is this song?
It’s True I’m Gonna Miss You
I think she has another Eb6, I forgot what song tho. Great vid overall :P
Ooo where? I checked all of her albums and singles so it must have been maybe on an Aretha song (she did backing vocals for her).
@@KajiVocals Yea might've been on an Aretha song
Hey have you considered making a vocal range video for Reba Rambo?
I'll look into her. I'm more familiar with her mother, Dottie Rambo.

*how can someone just belt out an E ♭6 and carry on with their day like nothing happened* 😭
its impossible to belt a eb6 for any voice, she used her mix to hit that Eb6
Next Phyllis Hyman please.

Not familiar enough with his voice to make an assessment.

Hi
I prefer her voice to Aretha. It's such ashame that she died so untimely.
