Matt whenever a livery with a bit of black is released: "it's like a disease"
Also Matt when Mercedes launched their all black car: "I LOVE IT"
To be fair in that case the disease has spread fully and it is a terminal case

Yeah but to be fair Mercedes looks WAY better then any other team plus they had the black Mercedes years before this season
Glad others noticed that. Mercedes looks good but not the best and I'd put it at laziest. Its like how people spray paint their RC cars just one colour.
To be fair the Mercedes actually looks good in all black plus they've had all black cars before. So yea
the best livery for alpine/renault is still the yellow and black livery, those cars were beautyfull

@@attilaosztopanyi9468 I prefer them not competitive if that means that they don't look hideous. It is just a terrible looking car. The black yellow livery was great.

I feel like I'm crazy, because I love it! The blue and black go together great, and the triangular diffusion in the rear is a cool, unique style

To be honest, I dont know why they hate the carbon thing so much. I dont really mind that theres just a little more black on the cars. As long as its got the same color and we are able to distinguish it from the other cars, its fine.
But I think Ferrari and Alfa gotta talk it out, they are very similar this season

I'm from India and looking at some of the new videos of WTF1 assumed that maybe Matt and Tommy are on a long holiday or something and then realised you guys have left WTF1 and started a new channel altogether. Now I am a subscriber of P1. Keep rocking guys.
I am not huge on this particular pair, but I like two offsetting liveries. Wish more teams did this
Same, for me white Red Bull 'arigato' is still my favorite ever.
I actually like it over last years, the pink seems better integrated exactly because there is more black to seperate them.
A proper pink blue would be cool though.
if they had done the blue like the pink and just had the opposite colour as the wing accents i reckon it would look a lot better on both. add in a bit of that crosshatching blend into the carbon and it would be pretty damn nice

Imagine a team forgetting UV protection from the carbon top coat.
It's like forgetting to brush a teeth
why would you need uv protection on a part that is replaced so frequently ? its not like it has to last years in the sun
carbon can take UV just fine, dont need to add weight in the form of a uv coating

All love! Also if I'm honest I like the exposed carbon.
Tbg tho, the Merc one actually feels like it fits. It "feels" and looks more like it supposed to be there and with the fake story about it matching silver arrows weight loss before. So I buy that and it feels more bold.
But all the others just trimming away feels boring and so see through in what they do.
I'm a RB-fan, but it's clear that Merc fully commited to the idea. They also already used full black before, so it isn't as clunky as Alpine where it is obvious that they had three conflicting resolutions..
I watched the entire stream. Listened to the Spotify pod cast. Now time to watch the RUclips video.

They actually mentioned on the reveal stream that this car is underweight. So the livery is a design choice not a weight choice.

The all pink one is basically a advert for Pepto Bismol. It’s literally the same shade of pink.
New theme song for Alpine: "Everything Is Awesome" from The Lego Movie. The black, pink and blue makes me think of Lucy's scheme
I actually like the new look more then last year... I seem to be alone with this opinion 🤔
It kinda looks like they started painting it and left it unfinished. Way more than with most other cars because there's that awkward wide area of carbon between the colors. But of course it's a matter of taste, I can definitely see people liking the wide carbon "stripe" aesthetic as well.
I like it too, Can't wait to see it on track.

Hi! Great you are back! Can I ask if it is possible to have your podcasts here on RUclips too? Doesn't have to be this channel but maybe a 2nd channel where such can go without affecting your stats to heavily if that's a concern. (P2 with Matt & Tommy as an example.) I primarily listen to podcasts here on RUclips for some reason.
I kinda like it..the blue&pink grows on me since the last season but still lots more color on it than the 99% black Merc..they criticized this but love the black Merc 😂🥲
I like it, at least there’s some colour on it, love the somehow redbull/Ferrari/kinda merc sidepods, can’t see all 3 philosophies working together but it’s nice too look at

in order to protect merchandising do you think that the FIA will implement a rule thats states a minimum amount of paint must be present on the cars

I agree. I enjoy the pink one better. The blue and pink does feel a bit undone with the black breaking it up
The concerns about all cars going full carbon black over the upcoming seasons are unfounded. Like why would it become harder to get down to the weight limit over the course of further development? The opposite is true, teams will find ways to design and package their cars more efficiently as they gain more and more knowledge about what they can achieve within these regs which will give them the breathing room they need in terms of weight to put more paint on the cars again.

The last yellow/black Renault was so beautiful, the first Alpine was so fucking nice but that three color thing with blue, pink and black is just too much... As a Renault Fan for 20 years I just want a title and a nice car :O
Would like to see the pink more than the mixed livery, but that's just my hot take.
I feel like the pink on the blue one looks a bit out of place but looks amazing on the full pink one, i wish the just went with a single color for the full car with maybe just a few lines on a different color rather than trying to have this 2 massive spots of different color

The pink is for the first 3 races and the blue and pink for the rest of the season

The matt/satin salmon pink contrasts quite badly with the metalic like Alpine Blue. It would look banging is they they changed it to a move purply pink.

They gotta introduce a rule about paint weight. That every team be required to have a minimum amount of paint.

you guys need to realize we'll get more color as the regulations are matured. as long as the weight limit isnt constantly reduced, eventually teams will be able to add color back without affecting the performance.

but you can get carbon fibre in different colors, like if you are stripping paint, use different color fibre

Hilarious that the only livery Matt seems to like is the un-painted Mercedes with stickers on it.

If you break it down,on the Merc there is the same amount of paint like on the Alpine, McLaren,Williams or Alfa Romeo...but black on black looks too good!!!

They should just make the pink one the main car. It’s so much better than the mismatched blue and pink.
F1 just needs to mandate that every surface (apart from perhaps the bottom 1/5) has to be painted - no exposed carbon allowed. Job done.

It’s getting to the point with the cars if all the paint was stripped off the cars it would be hard to tell them apart
They gotta give the teams a certain amount of paint that the teams have to use
Has anyone tried to listen to old channel? I made it a 40 seconds when one of them said the Ferrari launch wasn't great. They all bobbled heads and agreed. WTF indeed
At least the pink and black one will be easy to spot on track. I am waiting for next year when all cars are just black with white logo's.
