This looks like the perfect place to comment random thoughts: I can prove that 2022 and 2024 are the same year!
The 8 best players of 2022 explained using Scouts Classic Tetris Monthly sight:
    1) Dog = 7 points (FMS = 3rd place, game count = 2nd place, Win% = 2nd place)
    2) AlexT = 9 points (FMS = 2nd place, game count = 3rd place, Win% = 4th place)
    3) Fractal = 9 points (FMS = 4th place, game count = 4th place, Win% = 1st place)
    4) Andy = 10 points (FMS = 6th place, game count = 1st place, Win% = 3rd place)
    5) Huff = 17 points (FMS = 7th place, game count = 5th place, Win% = 5th place)
    6) EricICX = 18 points (FMS = 5th place, game count = 7th place, Win% = 6th place)
    7) Sidnev = 22 points (FMS = 8th place, game count = 6th place, Win% = 8th place)
    8) Gerald = 27 points (FMS = 9th place, game count = 9th place, Win% = 9th place)
Now look at the top 8 leaderboard of 2024 so far and tell me if you see the pattern:
    1) Fractal = 5 points (FMS = 3rd place, game count = 1st, Win% = 1st place)
    2) AlexT = 6 points (FMS = 2nd place, game count = 2nd place, Win% = 2nd place)
    3) Dog = 10 points (FMS = 1st place, game count = 5th place, Win% = 4th place)
    4) Andy = 16 points (FMS = 5th place, game count = 6th place, Win% = 5th place)
    5) Sidnev = 19 points (FMS = 10th place, game count = 3rd place, Win% = 6th place)
    6) Scuti = 20 points (FMS = 6th place, game count = 7th place, Win% = 7th place)
    7) Gerald = 23 points (FMS = 9th place, game count = 4th place, Win% = 10th place)
    8) Huff = 26 points (FMS = 7th place, game count = 16th place, Win% = 3rd place)
My thoughts on each of the players:
I'm not saying EricICX and Bluescuti are the same person, just that you'll never see them both be good in the same tournament ;)
So Fractal and Dog have switched ranks, their reputation hasn't really changed, they've both always been contenders for best ever tetris player in my book, the real story here is AlexT's love affair for silver metals.
Nothing to say about Andy, still holding down 4th place like a dragon and his hoard.
Everyone seems hyped to call this Sidnev's year, but her relative FMS hasn't actually improved, it's her win% and game count as a result that has made her seem stronger. My guess is that 2 years of experience have given her a better game feel for when she has the potential to win. Still impressive numbers despite Fractal, Alex, and Dog really starting to pull away from the rest of tier 1 players.
So apparently Gerald was good in 2022, I didn't watch 2023, but returning for 2024 I was like "who is this guy!" But no, he has always been up there, I guess. The real question is: can he stay ahead of huff? I'm not so sure. It's clear that Huff hasn't played as much as other top players this year aside from EricICX. If Huff can hold onto those amazing FMS and Win% values, then he's not contesting Gerald for 7th place, but Andy for 4th place! So keep playing Huff! This could secretly turn into your year!

Enjoyed reading your comment. Not sure what 2024 will bring, but the level of play is so high right now.

@@vandypants Thanks! I love doing stats, and I feel like no single stat being tracked in Tetris tells the complete story right now. All 3 leaderboards I used to make this have flaws: FMS and Win% are harder to maintain over a lot of games, but some players only play a few of them. It's possible for the 4th best player in a 16-player tournament to play more games than the 1st best player. Top players don't need the best FMS all the time, only for the top few games and so on. Finding the right way to composite this information took me over an hour, but I'm proud of the result.
You may see me in the comments again from time to time to update my ranking. I'll try to stay out of trouble though!
