That’s a good way to get your thumb broke! You should always pull up on a crank, even if you’re going to go around in a circle like you did. If it’s gonna kick back, it will kick back at the very beginning and that’s when many people have broke their thumb and tore tendons up. But it’s a sweet sounding motor I’ll say that

My fathers 1933 Jowett car had a big hole in the driver floor board, resulted in not having to stop to “spend a penny” as you could obtain relief as you drove along, probably good thing some rules and regulations have improved over the years 😂

Here's my handkerchief. That second car has a spot on the radiator cowl.

Not the nicest sounding engine I've ever heard, but it sure is cool.

0:39 Are those lights at the back authentic/true to the original design?

According to the late George Thompson, who looked after this car for many years at the AA, the car originally had no rear lights.

This man does not know how to crank start a car. The engine kicked back on him and he was just lucky it didn't break his arm.

Yes I have a old Farmall tractor that can be started with it's hand crank if the electric starter motor stops working and the manual says to bring the engine up to TDC then reposition the hand crank so it's at the bottom and with a half open hand with your thumb pointing away from the hand crank handle & give it a swift pull upwards on the hand crank so if it does kick back the crank handle will slip out of your hand instead of breaking your arm or busting your thumb .

@@TheHonestPeanut no he definitely doesn’t, very lucky it’s such a low compression engine.

@@stephenmorris5236 oh I'd have to say the old guy that owns, runs, maintains and brings it to shows knows the car better than you.

Good way to get a broken arm. He doesn’t know how to crank start a car. He’ll learn the hard way.
