  • Today I'll show how to easily mod a Qanba Obsidian 2 to have a removable USB Cable. Honestly, this couldn't be any easier. You'll just need a USB C Female to USB Female Adapter and thread it through the holes already on the Arcade Stick. Leave a bit popping out so you can easily attach the cable that leads to your console or PC, and when you are traveling or storring the stick, you can just tuck the adapter into the Cable storage compartment. Hope you enjoy the vid! Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

      "The cable adds a very small latency. It's much less than 1/1000 of the computer's latency. You will never see the difference. Latency is cause by cables that run hundreds of miles." AKA you will never in your life ever tell a difference lmao you're gucci!

    someone in my group took a female to female type A to type C adapter, moded the adapter to fit in the hole for the cable and voila detachable usb cable. what he did was just shaved the surrounding plastic to fit the hole and probably some glue if needed

    this mod actually works on any arcade stick. I am using it on my hori alpha coz I am sick of tying cables every time I play. With this, I can just use my existing usb type c cable hooked up on my pc so controller swap between arcade stick and dualsense become so easy. I don't notice any latency whatsoever while playing street fighter 6 on my pc. :p

    Unrelated but for $300 I would expect metal standoffs for the screws and a removable cable. I was interested in this stick but now I'm seeing more internals I feel like that is such a waste of money, you are spending $300 for a plastic box, is it durable plastic? Yeah but if you ever need to repair it or mod it you better not want to do it often because plastic screw holes won't last long. I've purchased a $150 hitbox made out of plexi and metal and the guy knew that using metal standoffs is a much better investment in long term durability. Also removable USB C.
    I'm sure this stick will last you years and years if you are happy with all the included parts but I just think it's time for these companies to start looking at what DIY sellers are doing.

    You showed the connector and I was thinking, "What the hell does this guy think he's going to do with that?" and then as soon as you started pulling the cable into the case a light bulb went off in my head and I said out loud, "OH!" That's thinking outside the box... er, uh... inside the box, I guess.

    • @satsunoryu
      @satsunoryu Год назад +1

      I did. I've used it a lot. It definitely feels like a premium stick, regardless of what some people may say. It's heavy, sits in place well, and the inputs are flawless and smooth. Tons of real estate if you want a long base for your lap or table.
      Is it worth $300? Probably not. I would've felt way better around the $225 mark, especially considering the 1st Obsidian had lights and stuff that gave it a more premium look. That being said I don't feel ripped off. It's a great stick.
      On another note, instead of going with a disconnecting wire like in this vid, I simply spun it up inside the case to a short length that worked for my situation and called it a day :P.

    • @satsunoryu
      @satsunoryu Год назад +1

      I think that'll be a good purchase. I used a Hori stick for a while, and they are good. Stick is softer and the buttons are much more sensitive, but as long as you aren't heavy-handed it'll work good.

    I’m gonna do a mod like this but instead I’m going to buy a shorter usb cable that plugs into the pcb board so that way I don’t get input delay once attaching the other detachable cable. Too much length can cause latency issues in the cable and cause input delay in some cases.

      @@marcelocruz7532 no but its relatively easy to do. you just place a usb hub in the arcade stick and then just do your wiring off that. thats implying your also placing your arcade cable inside the stick in the usb hub. you would still need to add an additional cable off the usb hub to have a removable cable
