- After my last video several people wanted to know how the train with 4 bogies worked. This video explains how I accomplished this.

Thank you! This is such a good idea. To be honest I actually like the fact that the bogeys swing out abit, because some larger trains with front bogeys actually do this in real life. Thanks for the video it’s so helpful!

Thats so inteligent, thank you for explaning it to us.
Love your videos, good work
You could have the train be the back and front bogey instead and it would look a tad bit more natural then with how you had done it but it is still cool
I'm not sure if that's possible
@@AJ-Palermo well if that isn't possible then this shouldn't be possible either
@@Projekt_Nightmare what I was saying is I don't know if you can connect two bogies that aren't next to each other. Like if they were numbered 1 2 3 and 4, you could connect 1 and 2, 2 and 3, or 3 and 4, but not 1 and 4. I'm not sure, but I think I may be right. Of course I could be wrong, and honestly I hope I am, because that would mean we could make some really cool trains
Hi!
Unfortunately Create only allows adjacent bogies to be connected, so having the body between the front and rear bogies is sadly not possible.
I thought it would be more natural for the middle bogey to carry everything for some reason...
Honestly, this is not only really cool, but it's actually a thing with steam locomotives in real life! They're called "articulated locomotives". Fun fact, there are also two types of articulateds, Mallet and simple. They both have the fundamental principle of hinged/pivoting bogies, but they differ in one significant way. Mallet is the original kind, created by a man named, well, Mallet(the T is silent with both). This kind reused steam from the rear cylinder set by pumping it into the front set(which had to be enlarged to properly use the already expanded steam). Pros were that they were efficient, had more power than a standard locomotive, and could navigate curves that a normal steamer of similar size would have trouble with. They did have a few cons, however, like wheelslip problems with the front drivers, reuse of steam usually limiting them to slow speeds with a heavy train, and the front set of drivers also tended to pound the rails, causing more wear and tear on the track. This is where the simple articulated comes into play. They were created with the idea of "What if we took a Mallet, and used steam directly in both cylinder sets?". The result was a *beast* of a locomotive, powerful _and_ fast, able to accelerate long trains up to average track speeds, a feat that was very difficult, though not impossible, for a Mallet. The downside was due to the direct usage of steam, they weren't as efficient as the Mallets. Other than that, the only faults simple articulateds had were with the prototypes, which were then worked out. I'm not criticizing Mallets, either. They were great locomotives, not to mention the forerunners to the legends we still have today. And although they weren't good at hauling trains at speed, they could easily pull them at low speed, even over hills!
TLDR Summarize next time
@@Dirty_Dan109 yeah but, does it really matter, I found it intresting
Nice!! I was trying the same method but doing a pair in the front and a pair in the back, it wasn’t turning in a way I liked and this trick is way better.
This is the best mod ever, I thought it couldn’t get any better before .5 but hot damn
Now its time to make Big Boy.
Thanks man. Now I can make a Giant Russian Locomotive with 12 bogies
Send me a screenie of the real thing plis?
Im still a little confused how to separate the first and last bogey from the center two, like it makes sense that its possible, but im new to the create mod and its just a little mindbending trying to fingure out how to NOT connect them
same
just don't stick them together with superglue. to hold together, every block of a train must be superglued together (you can do that just by building while holding the superglue in your offhand). bogeys already have superglue on their front and backside when they're placed so that's why the block tight in front of and right behind the bogey (the warped planks in the example in the video) swing out with the bogey. to make the mod thibk that the extra bogeys (including the block in front of and behind it) are seperate carriages, you just don't put any superglue between these and the surrounding train parts
Yeah the video didn't really show us they just showed what is does
Can you show how you build this? My son struggling to build this
For anyone wondering how to adjust the radius of track curves: press Ctrl as you lay down the curved track. This way if you have a long loco the bogies won't be popping out so much.
Pretty sure its for the Create Unlimited mod but maybe not
I understand the principle exactly, but don't understand how the main structure is glued.
Basically you glue everything to the middle bogie (or bogies in the case of the finished train) except for the blocks directly touching the glue texture on the front and back bogies. It overall will take more glue though.
I too was wondering how you did this. Thanks. Time to go build trains.
i need to glue them with eachother. right???? and will it work like this? (sorry for bad grammar)
tysm! this allowed me to build an NS 3737 and it looks great!
This engine reminds me of flying scotsman, GWR Lady of Legend and RH&DR Green goddness
Wow that is amazing! Glad to see other people building british trains aswell! Building an articulated steam locomotive is definetely a great way to solve the multiple bogie problem. Today I build a London Underground S Stock train (S6 stock, as it seems that I can only add 6 units). Pretty amazed how well that mod works. I just subscribed to your chanel, as I`m excited what you´ll build next. once again, great video!
How do you connect to blue planks other bogies when they are not connected to blue planks?
can you make a tutorial for this train
I dare you to build the Flying Scotsman using the create mod
Hi
but can you make video on how to make these bogeys get separated?
I am still confused can we have a step by step tutorial?
Oh I am 100% using this, awesome work
this is very great!
but now, we need a way to assemble and disassemble trains automatically: I NEED cargo trains that have removable containers TO LIVE
(CC: tweaked and redstone signal dont work im sad)
you can use a hopper to put a wrench in a deployer and have hit the station to dis/assemble a train automatically
@@aaronbrodie7802 is that basic create or I need create steam n'rails? I know with steam n'rails I can do it, but with basic create idk
As far as I can tell it's the main Create mod. I even just went Steam 'n' Rails mod page to check their description as well as read all the change logs, and there was no mention of it as their feature.
i need a more specific tutorial that tells you what you need to do.
It looks amazing
Make a tutorial about that because i don't know where to glue
Thank you but I wanna know how do you get the 2 wheels instead of just the standard 4 wheels
To change the bogie design right click the bogie with a wrench.
@@3D-Printing-Maniac u can actually click w ur hand as well but u have to get the position just right
@@3D-Printing-Maniac no u need to click the train track under the bogey
It was just a matter of time til people started building realistic locos with the create mod
are you going to show the gluing???
how do you glue such a thing?
but how 2 glue you didnt show glue
A classic the create mod
yeo u dead give me good idea ...
Hah, I just made a video about this independently. Not surprised that more people have come to this same conclusion. I also figured out how to couple / decouple train cars without having to disassemble / reassemble the trains. Currently working on a signal system for it, because my solution will not work with the default train signals.
I knew how to do that just from the previous video, but it's cool none the less, I'm going to make a 4000 Big Boy look alike cause of this trick
It would technically be one bogey because the driving wheels on a real life train isn't considered a bogey so it should apply to the create mod, right?
Clever 👍
I tried various blocks like framed blocks, furniture etc and found nbt’s aren’t saved so a lot of stuff doesn’t work.
Nope, I don't get it
thanks :)
I gotta wonder, is having that oscillating wheel drive better than what a conventional steam locomotive would have, with its driving rods?
build tutorial pls
map download pls?
i did it its easy
Intelligent
Thank you ^^
ur a god damn genius thanks for showing us plebs
genius
this is just a great idea keep up the good work man!
Ur train is cool, I want the same !
what's the block connecting the bogeys?
it's a block that automatically generates when the train is assembled. Just build the carriages you want with the train while building the train itself, and make sure that none of the carriages are connected.
@@thomasw7908 Yeah I figured that out as you can tell I'm a noob but I want to connect my passenger carriages together with slabs
and how can u make the locomotive and the carriage connected do u use like coupling or chain?
The create mod couples them automatically when you create the train
I tried making a huge two story train using create but it starts teleporting around the track lagging real bad. I don’t know if it’s the amount of glue I’m using or the amount of blocks connected to the bogeys, I took the train apart and built it off the bogeys piece by piece and got it working all the way until I glue the roof on train, not sure if the update just can’t handle large structures yet or what the problem is
I was trying to replicate the snowpiercer train and I wanted to make it driveable, but after it started lagging with only 9 boges and a single two story engine, I don’t think I’ll be able to add the rest of the 1,000 carts behind it and have it able to drive until they fix large structures for trains
Yeah I've found that really large trains struggle a bit with lots of hills or curves. I haven't had any issues in superflat worlds though
By default trains and contraptions can move a max of 2,048 blocks (not sure if the block count applies to the whole assembled train or per carriage). This can be changed per world in the config under sever>kinetics>contraptions. Another setting found in the same config section "Max Data Size (in Bytes)". Once that limit has been exceeded contraptions (or trains) will not render or have collision due to no longer being synced with players. Hope this helps (don't know it it helps with lag though).
Ok, I got the bogey problem taken care of now! What I need to know is how you placed the controls for the train??? I had to place them on the FIRST bogey, which is just by itself. It won't let me just have them in the train cabin because it's not the first """carriage""" I guess? Did I do something wrong? PLEASE help!
was it super-glued properly?
hope you manage to fix it soon 🙏
Working fine for me. As far as I can tell from testing you can have controls any where on the assembled train as long as it's connected by glue to at least 1 bogie. The test train I made, to test the coupler block from an add-on mod, had 6 controllers across 4 carriages and they all worked.
@aaronbrodie7802 Haha, this was a year ago but yeah, I eventually figured it out. Somehow I had two bogeys connected weirdly. Had to adjust a few things but I got there in the end!
Looks like you have optifine working with this - tried to test this version of the Create mod but it's crashing with optifine. What version of forge are you using?
Make sure you're not using OptiFine for 1.19, and that you have Flywheel installed
Hi!
I am running the latest recommended version of forge for 1.18.2 along with optifine.
Make a small tank engine
Please . Give also minecraft world seed number
I have created a map recreating the trains from the previous video. Do you want the map?
@@pieroalcom2975 yes bro

how do you connect multiple wagons??
if you assemble all of them using the same train station (as usual), they should work as intended
first, build the locomotive and all of the wagons you want, and make sure that none of the wagons are connected to each other. then when you assemble the train, it will automatically connect the separate wagons together
Thanks
sneaky sneaky
Now how did u do the steam whistle?
u put a liquid tank down with a steam whistle down and press ctrl.
@@egegokdenizduman thanks!!!
Can this mod be used in bedrock?
no
@@callenmanley100 ah well, hopefully one day a port will be available for bedrock
@@lieffian it never will
@@ciriboi I’ve already come to accept it
First
if bogey amount is a problem: config the mod.
If you have entity culling, add the train to the list that prevents it from getting culled.
the problem is bogie per carriage which doesn't have a config option
Wow this looks really good I haven't seen someone make a good train with this mode Until now
Can you do a shout out for me please lol
