Believe me, you are not expected to have a job by the age of 14 nor is it expected out of you to be such a huge public figure at such a young age, for now it's best to just focus on pursuing these things until we are mature enough to make a debut (into any field)

You also need to keep in mind that it may very well be their parents that pushed them into it, rather than it being truly their own choice. And a lot may have signed up not understanding the impact it could have on them, eating disorders, mental health issues, stalking, limitations on your personal life. Sold on the fame and glamour, but it's a toxic industry
And it will also be a great downside looking at it financially, their groups are most likely to disband when they just enter their twenties?? And what about basic schooling

I think the main reason we feel so scared thau kids this young are debuting is because now they are our age/almost our age or younger even. The pattern of young kids debuting has been quite old in k-pop and we are very us3d to see k-pop idols quite older than us that's why it bothers most of us a lot. I know some songs are not appropriate, but those are rare cases too. Most songs are pretty much kid friendly.
What about their studies, their growth and social development? I can understand that these kids want to kick start their career at an early stage since being a k-pop idol is such an attractive and sought after career but the adults in their families the companies that hires them, don't they realise what they are doing to these kids. God there should really be an age limit factor in this also just like voting and marriage.
I hope korea does something to put laws to have a proper minimum age requirement in debuting. They are basically children. Some of them overworked. Unregulated child labor is never okay.

There should be an age restriction for debuting idols. They should only debut legal age of 18 years old and above.
as much as i love my kpop groups... i do not stand behind kids who are barely teens or pre-teens being out in the spotlight like they are and now with AI technology the way it is... companies really don't care about their charges. i am frightened what their mental health will be like in the future... how are they going to cope if they are burned out or disbanded before 18 or 21... thats not gonna have a psychological effect at all... i want companies to require all their idols to go to therapy of some kind. my 2nd gen babies keep taking their life and with them my childhood and memories... it sucks.
Knowing how YGE likes to extend their trainee period, it scares me to think about how old that poor girl was when she auditioned. If a child loves to sing and dance, put them in musical theater, not an entertainment company. Don’t force them into a career they may end up not wanting.

The issue is not their age but the kpop machine behind them. Here in the states there has always been young musicians since the Jackson 5. But their parents are heavily involved in their career, usually as managers, and they have management there to protect them. To think only 18+ can make music is naive.
