I can tell u how I started to like aviation whenever I would go to the airport to visit my grandparents and whenever I was at the airport me and my brother would look at the planes and whenever we were home we would fly the planes we saw at the airport and as u may have guessed that’s a lot of planes so from looking at all of those liveries and types of planes and it went from there
For the purposes of maintenance, it's possible to attain a special ferry permit to fly the 727 on two engines; severe restrictions are applied i.e. no passengers or cargo can be carried on board is the main one as far as I know. I never trained to do it but I worked with pilots that did do this kind of ferry flight.
From what I can gather, with the plane being unable to take off without all of it's engines it must have been very costly in terms of fuel. The 727 seems like it was quite a financial liability to just maintain and keep in the air.
Unless the sum of thrust of the two engines are greater than that of 3, otherwise it seems not work for a 727 to fly on only 2 engines with normal payload
Hey Swiss001, did you know? The 727 had a design that allowed for an engine to break away if somthing like a fan got damaged which allowed it to continue flying smoothly to your destination.
Silly test as the 727 has 3 engines because in the 60’s the engines were not powerful. To be a good test you’d need to change those 2 engines with the power of the MD80 or 90 engines.
Nick, thanks for visiting my hometown San Diego on today's stream. You actually flew over my house (tbh, I was low-key scared you would crash into my house because the approach was really unstable). Also, you should check out Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio please. It's essentially a Chicago Meigs ordered on Wish. And it's STILL open!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
It’s funny because the DC 10 and 727 are both made with three engines to be efficient and if one engine is lost, you still have 2 yet this video is still made LOL
Wait wasn't the 727 built to use 2 engines? It was made for ocean crossing, because if a 2 engined plane lost an engine, it would be dangerous. The 727 had 3 engines was made so if it lost an engine over the ocean, it would still go.
The 727 with 2 engines is the 737 though. Boeing ran out of ideas when making the 7e7 and just moved the engines to the wings and removed the tail engine

For real

The reason Is because the FAA required trans-Atlantic flights to have 3 engines and if one failed they had 2. There! 🙂
We all knew this

So hey guys welcome back to another swiss001 video😃
0:26 planes having more than 2 engines is really bad

"Could the 727 have two engines?"
Yes as long as you have T H I C C engines
Hey Swiss! How did you fall in love with aviation?
He answered that in a q&A before
There's a lot of things that facinate people and make them interested. Aviation is one of them just like meteorology geeks and car geeks.
Aerococcus? Joke

He is doing what the pilots from Aerosucre does
Back in the 70s, my grandpa was flying on a delta 727, it suffered an engine failure and they still , managed to land
nice
nice
The Boeing 727 is the MD-11's brother.
They have 3 engines
They can fly with two engines
They are dead planes
And also Boeing now owns Mcdonnell douglas, which is why the md-95 is also called dc-9 and 717
How to save fuel
Boeing: Build the 737 MAX 7
Airbus: Fit new, more fuel efficient engines on our planes
Swiss001: turn off engines 1 and 3

the over run at 4:04 looks like what happened to Aerosucre Flight 157
Let’s find out why, ETOPS entered the chat.
Hey Swiss What is the addon you use to measure the landing rate
It might be able to fly if they removed the 2 engine because it adds extra weight
But it also decreases the airplanes trust
here's an idea: only turn on the middle engine and see what happens
We pay whole runway we use whole runway
aerosucre moment
It’s funny because the DC 10 and 727 are both made with three engines to be efficient and if one engine is lost, you still have 2 yet this video is still made LOL

How do you get planes into X-Plane 11? I want to get some of my favorite planes.
