How much space do you need to leave the insulation? Did I miss it if you said it? Can you compression at all or does any compression just equal thermal performance loss? This was a fantastic video. Thank you! Immediate sub.

The insolation gets ram set to the concrete walls then you want you studs snug up against the insolation. Not compressing it but they can touch. Yes you will loose R value when you flatten or squish the insolation. Thank you for watching!

At 2:06 you say you build double blocks, is that just 2x4’s stacked?
Do you guys shoot into the bottom of the I joists?

Yes it is 2. 2x4 stacked but offset a little to hang on the floor joist. One side hangs on that floor joist edge. Other side is on the concrete foundation wall.
