- In this days of Virus Spread the demand for Contactless IR sensor has gone manifold.
MLX 90614 / HW-691 /GY-906
works on SM BUS built on I2C protocol.
SM Bus Multi Master as compared to Single Master of I2C Protocol.
Wire.h of I2C protocol works well with this sensor.
Also ADAFRUIT Library is required.

But in actual ir thermometer has laser pointer & we get longer ranger can you explain that Mechanism?

Hello, I2C is typically used with only one master... However, the procoll accept multimaster.

It was just connection issue with jumper wire. Try it or DM me on twitter.

Ours was problem with jumper wire connection.
Then it was solved.

This sensor is useless without the proper lens. Due to its wide FOB angle (90 degrees), the sensitivity AND precision is terrible. If you want to use this sensor as a body thermometer, get the DCI version of MLX90614.

Melexis co. that manufactures this sensor has closed down taking orders.They say order has crossed whopping 5 million !!!!
