They are supposed to be chewy but not plasticy. I was afraid to cook the whole pack of rice cakes in microwave, afraid that they would not cook properly. So this is my recipe of cooking rice cakes with noodles: So first I added 1 cup of water in a pan and when it boiled I put in the rice cakes and noodles. When they start to cook,add 1 cup of milk/cream,spicy sauce packet and powder packet that comes with tteokbokki/noodles. Let them cook and taste the noodles. If the noodles are cooked then that means that rice cakes are also cooked. After that I add cheese and then it is done. You can adjust the amount of water according to your preference. If you like them super dry then add less water but if you like them to be coated with sauce then add a bit more water. Side note: always add little amount of water/milk and then increase it if you want otherwise if the water is too much then they do not taste good. Plus... I like the flavor carbonara the best but if you don't like spicy,use cream carbonara. Trust me it will taste so good😊😊@@berenicepopcorn
