  • Replace bulb with a CREE LED from The Torch Site TTS-2AA goo.gl/1CrjS
This is a LOT brighter ! than the old bulb. Demo example with 'old' bulb
Current draw 164mA (Milliamps) with new Duracells
Fixed aperture / iris / shutter used for video
I recommend these as a replacement for the ordinal bulb form www.thetorchsit...

Thank you so much, I had a corroded battery and had to really work to get it out. During the process I thought I had messed up the LED bulb when it came out. Finally putting it all back together I figured I had a new paperweight when it didn't work. Your video mentioned to rotate the bulb if it didn't work and that was all it took for mine to start working again. THANKS for a great video.

That doesn't look like the 2AA conversion presently on the TTS site - which has a much thicker housing around the LED and a new reflector.

The two batteries were trapped inside my mini maglite. Can you help me? Let me know if that is the lamp cover that leaves the maglite without damage.

No damage to the removed parts at all, as this is only a bulb replacement. Regards trapped batteries, did they leak and bulge ?. What I have done is remove the base cap AND the top lens with the plastic ‘DO NOT REMOVE’ cover and carefully push down (from the bulb end) with a small screw driver down the side of the bulb contacts push the batteries out - being careful not to stab your hand !. OR you can shake the torch ‘violently’ to remove them again being careful as the batteries may come out with some speed and force !
      Hope this helps !

Use eneloop or Energizer Lithium....will never happen again....the batteries they sometimes come with are garbage....they ruin your torch so you have to buy another one....

Easy. Throw old flashlight away, buy new one (now with 272 lumens!) for ~ $20.

  • @scott7373

Sorry, this is a complete waste of money !!!!
Just change that bulb for a simple 2 pinned, 3 volt, high luminosity led from an electronics supplier !!!!
You might have to make the hole bigger in the reflector but if you buy like 10 of the same when you've made this modification then you'll have a torch that will serve you till they stop making batteries, i.e. the end of civilization.
