Well the first eggs shown were not monarch eggs. And monarchs lay eggs singularly, not in large clusters. Also butterflies are not in the chrysalis a few months. They are in the chrysalis for around 8-12 days depending on temperature. There are some species that will overwinter in the chrysalis, but monarchs do not
I have a caterpillar in my classroom and it was a baby and then it started to grow the color pillar, it was in a JN we were excited to see it to look like in a cry
These time periods are way off and depend on species. Egg - 3 days to 1 month Caterpillar - 2 weeks to 2 months Chrysalis or Cocoons - 2 weeks to 2 years (overwintering) Adults - Butterflies 6 days to 9 months, moths 2 days to a week
Not a few months I know all about monarch butterflies and catipillars they eat milk weeds I grow catipillars because I have this plant when they turn into a cocoon there body turns into a liquid and these cells help the catipillar turn into a butterfly
umm as an entomologist that's not true the caterpillar has five instars which are like shedding its skin then it creates the chrysalis inside its body and peel backs the skin then after months it turns into a butterfly
Amazing nature 💚
