I know its been a while since this video was posted but I was watching it again and I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the stone that Catherine used to help empower the damaged books of Gehn and the Bahro linking stone used by Yeesha later on in Uru. While we are supposed to think that it was the Bahro that put those stones, I wonder if maybe it was Yeesha who took that which her mother made and used her special abilities to make it even greater. Hmm. hehe :)
@c3nty2 Writing in man-made objects is supposed to be incredibly difficult (witness Atrus's failure with the ship in Stoneship Age) and not something the D'ni did as a rule.
@windswepteuphony The link takes you to a jetty overlooking the lake with the weird bee-hive tree in it. There's nothing you can do from there except link back to Riven.
Wait a Moment: Could the stranger not just take the book powering Crystal from the Tay book to power the books in the domes? That would make the Fire Marble Puzzle useless.
@@Mike14264 no they would not as Catherine used geodes to power the Moiety books so they no longer have to take the risk of being caught by Gehn's followers.
Has anyone tried activating the animal tablets again to go back to Tay at this point? The first time we were drugged upon arrival and placed in that room, but I don't imagine that happening again. Does the game let you go back, and if so, are you allowed to explore?
No you only get to see the trees' interior once, if you link into Tay again you only have access to the doorway where the statue of Gehn holds the linking book to Riven.
I guess one of the main issues this game had was all the cd switching with the five-disc version. Coupled with the extreme difficulty and all the backtracking, I would assume very few people actually got as far as even understanding what they are supposed to do.
You mention that Sirrus and Achenar tricked Catherine into going into Riven to get her out of the way so they can execute their evil schemes... did Sirrus and Achenar know about Gehn? Or was it just pure coincidence?
You can go back, arriving at the same point you originally got abducted. However, this time there's no boat to take you across and not much to look at. All you can do is turn around 180 and approach the artifact against the wall. It has the same linking crystal you used before, to get back to Riven. So you use it, because there is nothing here you can do here. Too bad, Tay looks to be an interesting place to explore.
Catherine's journal was the moment I starting rooting for Gehn. Then I decided the ending where Atrus got shot, Riven got wiped out, and Catherine remaining locked up was the most satisfying ending.
In the temple there is another eastern egg, press the middle lamp on the right when you face the projector and you're all set for the holidays! =)
You probably won't answer 14 years later, but I don't know what you mean
Yep, I played through this on the PS1 version and had to switch discs between every island. Pain in the ass!!!

I know I'm very late, but I assume the Moiety would still need them and, given their superstitious nature, they still don't fully trust you to do so.

And even then, the DVD copy of Schizm still has to be flipped like a record from time to time!

Coincidence. They knew Atrus wasn't there with a book link back, that was good enough to get her out of the way.
What happens if you go back to Tey I wonder

@TheShadowOfTheDawn If you do it at this point, you fall into the fissure forever and the game ends.
You seem to have a problem with riding a maglev twice. Why is that?
In Catherine's journal
what happens when u do open it before you rescue cathrine?

For the Telescope where did you find the code?
that code is in Catherine's journal. It is randomly generated for each game.
Hopefully it's not more journals... xD
Not working for me. Is that number exclusive to your game, because its not working on my game.
The codes for the domes and the fissure are randomly generated. You can't cheat those.
I can't remember where you find the 5 numbers. None of the 5 numbers I use in my notes are working.
02:28 Lmao.
@Dilandau3000 So disappointing!
