My favorite moments from the couch were mostly listening to Timmy's banter and watching you, watching yourself back, evolving as a young woman in NYC and not remembering any of it. I liked Kelly Cutrone and the original cast from the 'first season' or half of the season and the romances, but disliked how much the show looked scripted when the new cast joined who were not all that interesting.
I don’t agree. I always respected Erin and Kelly, still do. I think the landscape has changed and evolved to a point where you need to tiptoe around everyone’s feelings so carefully and if you’re tough, you’re seen as bitchy or mean. You could always tell Erin was a work horse and being a PR director at such a young age is HUGE deal. I agree with Whitney’s point about her being frustrated, I don’t think there was any rudeness in her addressing Olivia back then and I still don’t, now. These are tough industries in tough cities and in positions where you aren’t cutting it, there’s a million people who would gladly step in straight away and probably do it better.
Bonnie Chia I just making a joke :) I totally see your point. That being said, I’d still rather work for someone who offers constructive criticism in a slightly more tactful way than Kelly Cutrone might haha.
@@socialsneaker8285 I agree with you. When dealing with Whitney, Kelly was respectful and helpful because she knew how hard Whitney worked. Roxy was just a party girl. And Olivia was an entitled socialite with an attitude who never had to work hard for anything, and Erin saw that. But she was respectful to others who actually did the work and went above and beyond. Kelly and Erin weren't "mean bitches", they were no nonsense career women who didn't take any bullshit.
Timmy's impression of Erin around minute 24 about having exhausted all of her avenues to discuss Olivia made me cry laugh hysterically! I haven't laughed that hard all year. Timmy you're the best!
Please consider doing the Hills after this. I would love to know about all those Teen Vogue moments - walking in the DKNY Jeans show, Paris, scouting male models ("take your shirt off!"), thoughts on Lisa Love, that shoot Jade was on, thoughts on all the looks you wore, etc. - and also Lady GaGa!
Olivia Palermo is an example of what happens when you're raised with unlimited cash flow and no social skills. She does not know how to interact with people.
"at least you can see this chair clearly" 😂 I agree though, Olivia isn't trying but also having someone like Erin who seems out to get her whatever she does makes for such a debilitating workplace. It's be hard to get the motivation to try.
Honestly, I feel bad for Erin. It's clear she takes her job seriously and this show was just used as a promotion tool for Elle. It must be really frustrating to have someone swan in with very little experience and see them get an Editor title while they can't even pull a couple of looks for a short segment on daytime television. I think it's pretty obvious that Olivia just isn't a hard worker.
I thought the Whitney Eve fashion line was cool and unique, but I always thought the price point was too high. And I don’t mean price versus quality, because I am sure she used high quality fabrics, that warranted the higher price point. My thought was always that her audience and therefore her target market were teenagers and girls in their early twenties, and most girls in that age group just don’t have the kind of money to afford that price point. I always thought that her line should have reflected the price point that the girls who watched her on tv (and therefore would buy her line) could afford, and then as those girls in her target market got older, and became college graduates, she could have slowly gotten her line into a higher price point to coincide with her target market’s earnings. Or maybe design a line that is more affordable with some higher priced pieces mixed in.
Abby Leonard Oh wow. I didn’t think I’d ever agree with Kelly on anything, lol. Actually, I shouldn’t say that, Kelly obviously knew what she was doing and was a big powerhouse in the PR world, I just didn’t like the way she managed people by instilling fear into her employees. I think her delivery could have been different and still effective.
@Se Se Yep, absolutely. Lauren definitely learned. She initially had a line out that was at a much higher price point that didn't sell well. She went back to the drawing board and decided to make a more affordable line in collaboration with Kohl's.
Whitney Port you’re a much better person than most people Whit, wishing her the best even though she stole your credit at DVF and didn’t want to support your line.
I always felt for Erin, having to put up with Olivia’s BS and insubordination. And, as sweet & adorable as Joe Zee is, he was infinitely frustrating, continuing to favor Olivia over the hard-working, long-suffering Erin. I would not have been brave enough to call Olivia out the way she needed to be, and would’ve quit or had a nervous friggin break down, so, kudos to “mean” Erin! Much respect 😉
I ADORE how you and Timmy communicate!! I’m a Pisces too and tend to do that thing where I express my feelings in a look or a sigh and every time you do that Timmy is always like “talk me through your thoughts, what are you feeling” which is so good because people aren’t mind readers and we need to be reminded of that!!

Say what you want about kelly but she was really trying to help whitney make her passion come true..Kelly didn't have to put all her energy into her but she did which is amazing/lucky cause not every self made millionaire will help just anyone.🥰

Kelly is super blunt but when you're in her position who has time to be super fluffy and nice?! Just about being efficient. The model knew she shouldn't have turned up without the book, and Kelly probably knows that she knows she shouldn't have turned up and that it's a pointless exercise, so yeah, she was like BYE, next.
"just about being efficient." exactly. when you move that fast in an industry that moves that fast, your time is money and you have absolutely no time for extras or niceties. she's harsh but she has to be.
What Kelly meant by “day at the mall” is back in the 80’s/90’s they’d have walk-in model/sign ups for local pretty girls. Sort of like Star Search for singers. The people on tv were found locally and groomed, not just plucked from broadway. Fair point from Kelly if the scene was amateur and unprofessional - she could switch up her attitude though, obviously put on for “TV”.
Fully thought Erin Lucas and Erin Kaplan were the same person- but that they changed their hair between seasons and it made their face look different- and their personality took a 180 because the pressure of working at Elle was getting to them 😂
Did you guys know that (season 1) Erin Lucas' dad was the bass guitarist for AC/DC? And Roxy's dad is the producer of the show This is Us. Some people were just born to be in the spotlight lol
Roxy's parents were on the show Thirtysomething, which a lot of people here are probably too young to remember but it was a pretty big deal in the late eighties.
Really enjoying these! Ya'll are such a such a sweet couple! I am way behind on all of this so I apologize if I'm asking a question you've already answered - but - will you be doing a Hills New Beginnings rewatch?
Was reminded while watching that Cobra Starship and Leighton Meester collaborated on the "GOOD GIRLS GO BAD" song. This is only relevant because Olivia was supposedly the inspiration for Leighton's character on Gossip Girl. In fact i think the girl Brooklyn Decker had some socialite beef and that's why they had her work the shoot so closely!!! That's why they were at the dinner! I think they wanted Olivia to be confronted with as many people who profited off of her likeness. Would love to hear you guys talk about some of that back story.
I don’t know that Olivia was the inspiration for Blair. Gossip Girl came out in 2007 while The City came out in 2008. The Gossip Girl TV series is also based on the books. But there are some similarities!
@@fairyfreak1 they also had her go to the stylist of Gossip Girl's book premiere party... Where Leighton attended and was even featured on the red carpet on the show. I think Olivia was pissed they tried to get her to play into the tabloid fodder that past incarnations of this show once demanded and easily got from their other leading stars. I think this is why there was just so much conflict. But yeah obviously no actual hard evidence. Certainly some questionable repeated circumstances in play.
I think they truly wanted her to play on-screen the girl they wrote about on Page Six. She probably viewed this show as an opportunity to dispel that image. Once Olivia saw that it wasn't going to pan-out and she would once again be painted the snobby, rich, mean girl she was no longer down. Hence why she'd take off the mic pack. It's said that the creator wanted the Devils wears Prada situation within the show. Which in the end was the demise of the show. Trying to make one show into two.
I'm years late to the party but I decided to look up Brynn too and imagine my surprise her latest IG post is her at Olivias vow renewal a few days ago lol
Another great reaction vid 😊.. I was just wondering has anyone from the show been in touch with you whilst filming these??.. love to you all and happy 3rd birthday to sweet Sony .. xxx
She didn't like Olivia from the start and had it out for her. Granted Olivia didn't take this job seriously but Erin had this chip on her shoulder as if she deserved more.
Erin gives me “ Amanda Woodward” -( Heather Locklear) on Melrose Place” vibes lol. And Olivia is Alison. (A much chicer old money ) Alison. But sort of the pretty deer in the headlights girl.

Olivia and Erin stress me out so much!
what am I going to do when there are no more episodes?!?! I've been enjoying these so so much!
Timmy is a GEM
I'm years late to the party but I decided to look up Brynn too and imagine my surprise her latest IG post is her at Olivias vow renewal a few days ago lol
Whitney you are so awesome, I wish I was so peaceful and mature to laugh about life when things don't go as planned.💕 (champagne situation lol!!)
Bwahaha. You two are so fun to watch together. Hilarious
Another great reaction vid 😊.. I was just wondering has anyone from the show been in touch with you whilst filming these??.. love to you all and happy 3rd birthday to sweet Sony .. xxx
Timmy reminds me so much of my husband 😂 just funny as hell without even trying
At this point I can’t stand Erin one bit. Would HATE to work with her...
Whitney is so pretty
Love these every week, but soooo many commercials.
OMG I'm so over having Erin deal with Olivia being so rude🤮 oh but shes so beautiful so it's ok... No!
