  • “April Kisses” originally recorded in 1927 by Maestro Salvatore Massaro-“Eddie Lang” as he came to be known. Born on this day October 25 in 1902 and died in 1933 before he was 31 years old due to complications after a tonsillectomy. What the heck. Still, with his trusty L5 he left a legacy that took the role of guitar in “popular” music to unforeseen levels and continues to have a big influence on many of us thanks to a combination of his virtuosity, developments in technology, and serendipitous timing.. here is a humble homage

My dream guitar.. it had been mostly sitting in its case since the 70s until I first held it almost a year ago now. I still can’t believe I acquired it

Zither style? Or all romantic music sounds that way

Not intentionally going for zither style but I hear what you mean! Eddie Lang came from an Italian background, I imagine there could certainly be some crossover with his guitar style and zither music.. I could hear this fitting in with the Third Man soundtrack! :)
