The Rome Experience: Pizza & History Hunt 🇮🇹

- ■ ITALY, ROME: It's been 22 years since my first visit to Rome, the current capital of Italy and old capital of the Roman Empire that once ruled the entire mediterranean world. This being my 4th visit to the city, I decided to come up with a challenge:
How many of Rome's major attractions would I be able to visit in one day? And how many pizza slices could I eat?
Turns out quite a lot more than I had anticipated when I first came up with this Rome tourism challenge 🇮🇹

Bellissima!
Any Roman who can tame a barbarian Norseman like Harald must be a fantastic guide. Harald and Martina episodes great as always!!
enjoyed seeing you again Martina and good job
Great rapport, both of you have a wonderful sense of humor,
Always entertaining and informative! Cheers
Outstanding Martina! I so want to visit Italy so much to see!
Martina is so knowledgable and you can tell how much she loves and appreciates history and her job. Great host!
Martina is an amazing woman! I really hope we see her alot more in the future. Learned so much history from her and her skills in remembering the smallest details is amazing. She makes me appreciate the old buildings, sculptures etc. alot more. So much history you would never know about, by just walking around in Rome seing it with your own eyes!
I wish I could have her show me around! Harald should keep showing her
I love the interaction between the northern barbarian and the refined Italian scholar. Great video as usual Harald. 🤣
Hear! Hear!
The crowning moments began at 01:04:16 when Martina began to admonish Heraldo for cutting his Carbonara with a knife, not once but thrice "..
....Mama Mia!!!......." and capping it off with : ".......Mama Mia!...I don't know how you've survived all this time!"
LMAO!! 🤣
I half expected Haraldo to respond : "Martina are you rebuking Haraldo over his pasta technique? That is an outrage!"
Fine job Haraldo!!
CHEERS!!
@@scottmccutcheon9828yep! Cutting or breaking long pasta is about as much a sin to Italians as pineapple on pizza. lol
yes, it is much better relation than the roman time ahah
@@EphemeralProductionsI guess they've never heard of Hawaiian pizza? Italians seem to limit themselves too much with little rules. In life, if you enjoy it, do it. Harald is a man of the world and does everything.
@@cooloox I am Italian and I love Hawaiian pizza, just it isn't traditional here so you won't find it very often except for airport and very touristic places....
Martina gives out such warm and wifey vibes. What say Haraldo? Time to settle? I approve!☝😀
Indeed! ❤ she really is a very kind and pretty woman! Seems very genuine.
Thats just what Italian women are like, in my experience. Not corrupted, too much, from American propaganda.

Haraldo triggering Martina is top tier content. Great collab, she was wonderful and another fascinating video, thank you! P.S. loved the old clip from 2002 Northman at the end.
Words can’t describe how I felt watching this. I was in awe the whole time. Knowing I’ll most likely never see this place with my own eyes, I’m glad I saw it here. On your channel. Safe travels traveler.

Wonderful video. Be sure to make more travel-history videos with Martina in the future: she is a great addition to the video content and brings dialogue. It's nice to see content with a flavour of the history of European civilisation, even if it's not as popular as regular pop content. Don't stop Harald!
Yes, I love her!! She’s so great!
I’ve got to agree with everyone else, this video is outstanding. One of the best videos for a while! The chemistry between you two is brilliant. You two should tour Italy together!
Thank you, Mr. Baldieri for another amazing video, you and Martina are the perfect combination. One of the best videos so far.
I do believe "The Fine White Wine Man" would approve of Haroldo's wine selection in Roma!
And he would certainly approve of the Croissant+Wine combination.
Yes Yes!
You will have to find him first
Herald and Martina look so awesome together making the vlogs worth watching a number of times... ❤
Harald’s delivery of content is master class! 🎬
From in depth history details to witty food debate topics and memorable one-liners, all are superbly executed! 😎
The piece filmed 22 years ago in the exactly same spot is priceless!
⭐️LEGEND!⭐️
Also, Martina is just wonderful!
Ah sweet young Haroldo 22years ago, thanks for sharing❤
I love this stuff from the both of you, you guys are so knowledgeable about history in Florentine, Rome and just Italy in general, you both work well with each other. I am learning so much!
I remember from years ago when u visited, u gave a homeless guy a expensive statue for him to sell, and all ur viewers were in search of him, as well as u fought with the scammers who do the street art, the jumped you and the police saw ur video about it , plus first time u meet the tour guide and gave her tours a enormous boost
That was Florence 🇮🇹
Martina was amazing. Her knowledge and character are superb. Not to mention easy on the eyes.
Martina is such a sweetheart. A national treasure with a lovely sense of humor revealing a glint of fire here and there. It's a good thing there was no broom within arms reach, or you would have felt it.
Cutting your pasta? Ha! When I was a kid in the 50s, a family of Italians moved in next door. Our families got along well, but we weren't real close. One day _The Salvatores_ invited one of my older brothers over to their house for dinner. Of course, spaghetti was on the menu. My brother, being the dork that he's always been, didn't like wrestling with the long strands on a fork trying to get it into his mouth with half of it hanging out on his chin. Well, his plate of spaghetti was served to him by Mrs. Salvatore. The first thing my brother did was to grab a fork and a knife. Then proceeded to cut it up until all of the noodles were about 1/8 inch long. Then ate it with a spoon! The whole family was horrified. Needless to say that that was the one and only time any of my family was ever invited to dinner in _The Salvatore's_ house. Poor Mrs. Salvatore. Me? I woulda scarfed it down and asked for seconds.
One hour and eighteen minutes. It seemed like 20 minutes. Thanks for the wonderful tour and the hit and run history lessons. I realized that there are so many folds concerning the history of Rome that it would be impossible to cover everything. And that covering only one thing thoroughly wouldn't be wise. Tell about what you see. Now, that is interesting.
Good job, old son.
Thank you Harald it was lovely to see Martina again Cheers!
Martina: "Harald, I don't know how you've survived until now" After you cut that spaghetti. I'm dying 😀

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL VIDEO OF ROME GIVING US A MINI TOUR OF THIS CITY. YOUR INTERACTION WITH YOUR GUIDE WAS A MIXTURE OF WIT AND CONSIDERABLE KNOWLEDGE . REAL FUN TO WATCH.
Wish I could hit the like button more than once! Absolutely nailed it here. Martina is such a beautiful person and really elevated this with her extensive knowledge.
I knew, from the title of the video, that I would probably get Harald's usual high quality informative tour style video. But who could predict that this is the video one must watch to learn that having a chocolate pastry with wine is barbarous! Too funny.
Defo 😂😂😂
I do it to, pecan slice and wine :-) .
Should have dipped the pastry in the wine then ate it
Martina is a great guide. Amazing to see the footage from 22 years ago, Harald!
Absolutely beautiful video, Harald ! I think it's one of my new favorites ! Well done ! And its always good to see Martina, what a brilliant woman !
You 2 have great chemistry together, keep doing more videos together! :)

"WOW"... brilliant video Harald. I've come to expect funny informative videos from you but this just blew me away. The interaction between Martina and yourself was great to watch and then the architecture and history was just simply amazing. Keep up the great work Harald you're the best 👍
She whipped you in line!😂😂😂
I’ve really enjoyed the long-form videos. The Korean night out with the boys was also really engaging.
“All the other places are rated crap”. lol. I love haralds unintentional bluntness, it always makes me chuckle!
I am completely enamored by Martina. I find myself smiling all along and entranced by the Beauty of Italia! Can’t wait for the next episode!
She is such an awesome person to take you around Italy! Smart, friendly, beautiful.
Exactly 47:37 in the video Martina is telling the story about the statue, and why he is holding his hand up. When she says the words falling down, watch the meteor fall from the sky right over top of her head. Timing was impeccable. I mean seriously what are the odds of that? Harald you and Martina make a good pair. I think you should keep her around. Love the videos and appreciate the effort. Be safe out there.
I think it’s a camera effect, you can see it a few seconds later when the camera pans to the right

Too many people don't bother to go back to hit like I think that's the problem. I always hit the like before I watch the video, that makes it easy. You can always remove a like after you watch but I'd never do that to a norseman. ☺

The Pantheon is my favorite place. The history in Rome is just mind boggling! The absolute favorite city I have ever visited. Your videos are the best brother. Thank you.
Great video Harald-- excellent quality ---enjoyed the beautiful Martina's knowledge about Roman history--I look forward to whatever you post next
Cant believe haraldo picked up the cannon ball at castel sant'angelo 🤣🤣 legend, the instict after weighing so many cannon balls kicked in
Absolutely loved this episode. You and Martina hit it off! 17km+ of walking in one day is epic! So much to see!
Martina was very knowledgeable about the area. If I was to ever visit Rome, I would definitely give her a shout. She seemed fun and a very helpful guide. I hope this helps her business. Martina was great.
I went inside the colosseum last year and saw all the underground chambers as well as the artefacts that were on display, truly a spectacular monument, rich in history. Fun fact, it only took Vespasian and his boys 8 years to build the colosseum.
Another great video Harald. Also loved the humour of Martina. You can tell right away how beautiful her soul.
I was in Rome in December and loved it. Sort of wish I'd seen this video beforehand for all the extra tips and bits of history! Thanks Harald and Martina for a fantastic video.
Great video Harald , Martina is absolutely awesome ,what a Guide and Companion on your Exploration of Rome.
Thanks to you and Martina it seems I've done Rome from the comfort of my den. But missed the food, so that will require an in person visit in the future. Great video Harald.
Absolutely amazing video! I can see that you are in your element in Italy. The mix between the small jokes with the food etiquette and the history/arts is spot on. As a romanian, when I saw the Traian's Column, I was like: "Oh boy, that was about us"😂
These italian videos are the cherry on top of your channel!
Stellar video Harald. Rome in 4K is absolutely stunning. Brought back so many memories of my trip there in 2019. I hope to be able to go back there again some day.
Great video, Harald. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
No black cape today, just a jumper, but still so much knowledge, this is honestly the only way I can ever learn history and love it. Thank you Harold. Ps. You have definitely improved, like fine wine.
I would not mind touring Rome with such a beautiful and knowledgeable woman.

Very nice video Harold, I like how you are taking your channel to educate more people on history...thumbs up I Approve
Beautiful video, and well done. I love these elaborate history vlogs Harald does, especially when in Italy. It's very telling that Harald is so well versed in history, always such a pleasure to hear him teach history; his epistemophile shows with such great enthusiasm and passion, making the vlogs spell binding. And its always such a joy to see Martina again. The likes should match the views. Nicely done, Harald and Martina.🥰
Fantastic video with Harald and Martina touring Rome. It was enlightening to see Martina's reactions/cringing whenever Harald was about to touch ancient artifacts. Harald for being a Canadian, Chinese, German gongo enthusiast revealed his true form of a Bárbaro or Barbarian! 🤣
wow, that Martina girl is really coming out of her shell as this trip moves along. She sounded so shy at the beginning

Northman, this was a beautiful video and the longer ones are appreciated. Regarding your habit of going in-depth with history, is there any chance of you giving us a tour of Palmyra someday? At least to say what is left? Top notch as always and thank you.

You didn’t go to the Vatican Museum? It’s pretty nice too. Last time I went, about 15 years ago, I brought my Simon Wilson sized DSLR camera in there, to get pictures of Michelangelos famous The Creation of Adam in the amazing ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I took the picture, and right after guards rushed in and demanded I deleted it. 😆 Luckily they had no idea how a memory card worked. 😅 Surely worth a visit, if you didn’t go already. 😊
