    I've not sailed on QM2 but in a storm like that, it's the only ship I'd want to be on. Beautiful ship.

    After WWII my dad hitched a ride back home on the Queen Mary. The great ship was packed, but the returning troops feasted like kings and reveled in her composure in heavy seas. It’s good to be on the winning side.

    We spent three days in a force 10 gale on that wonderful ship. A great experience. The ship handled it perfectly.

    Love this. True Atlantic crossing. My brother leaves on Friday for the transat,then the Northern lights on 1/11 and back to back return to NYC. #jealous. Great video Chris.

      That's awesome. I plan to do it someday for sure ocean liners are epic I want to see the stars at night hopefully and the swimming pools steam room etc sounds awesome going to buy a very nice 3 piece and a hat and shoes just like the good ole days..

    We were on board, as you were, Chris, in November 2019 when were in Hurricane Force 12 winds. The QM2 handled it so well.

    We crossed on her a few years back and encountered a storm a night. Loved the gently rocking motion whlst tucked up in bed.

    I listened to the ships designer Stephen Payne OBE in a video conference last year and he mentioned there is more structural steel in the QM2 to make another ship

    I’ve been on the QM2, on the edge of a hurricane in the North Atlantic - much bigger waves than this video. She handles storms beautifully. It’s a phenomenal experience.

    Did a crossing on the QM2 from Southampton to New York in April 2022. We had 7 to 8 m seas. And a couple of days where the temperature was in the high 40s F. Loads of fun.

    Been in force 11on qm2 one may very interesting just spent time on slots as nobody was around the captain said in his report how well she handled especially as the waves came over the camera and these are very high up on the bow very enjoyable.

    The QM2 is such extremely great engineering. A world apart from the QE2.

    We were cruising on the P&O Arvia down the west coast of Spain, it was very windy with a 5 metre swell and we didn’t feel a thing.

    The one thing i dont like about the QM2 is the fact even a real storm dont seem to catch her offguard.
    Designed to withstand a beating and keep everyone comfy and safe.

      I just sailed on her in August 2024 and she appeared very well taken care of. I’ve also been on her in 2017.

      Morning! If you look at the screen as the video plays you’ll see all the rain and wind and clouds and fog. That’s the storm ⛈️ 😂

    Hardly a real storm. Rougher than calm water but anticipated in ship design and building.

      @@WilliamMurphy-b6v sounds very exciting!! I’ve seen some amazing storm photos from QE2 with her bow smashing through the waves. We had a good one in the southern ocean aboard in 2002. It was memorable!!

    Most people could handle that "storm". It doesn't look that bad from what I see in this video. Just choppy seas on a foggy day. No biggie.

      @@ChrisFrameOfficial The size of the waves were not as extreme as other videos where the whole bow is deluged with 30 foot waves repeatedly. Not so in this video. High wind and rain can be intense, but there was a guy outside the wheelhouse in the open air. That's what was underwhelming to me.

      @@ChrisFrameOfficial This is about 3-4 metre swell so that's considered moderate. When you get to 9-10 metre swells you're in big seas.

      I do not disagree with the chart. Given the wind force was 12 and the sea state was ‘very rough’ when the bow wave shots were taken it probably fits the big seas definition 🌊
