That mission was freaking hard!

Fr I remember having to do multiple attempts!
This mission is uniqe, quite distinct from most typical missions. Atmosphere is great, dense and dark, the forrest itself looks fantastic, it may be my favourite mission overall. The only minus is there is too many tanks for both sides which played small role in historical Hurtgen forrest battle. It should be an infantry and artillery hell.
I was left with only 2 soldiers vs 4 tanks in the end 😅.... I couldn't make it.... It was too difficult on normal
The US Army covered up the debacle in the Hürtgen Forrest for a long time. The Battle of the Bulge gets all the attention. I am glad to see almost 80 yrs on, it is being talked about more and more. It was a horrible battle for the dogface GI who was used as cannon fodder. Whole regiments lost in days. A division gone in weeks. The 28th Infantry division of Pennsylvania whose shoulder patch was the famous PA keystone (in red), was named the "bloody bucket" division by the Germans due to the casualties it sustained.
Read A Dark and Bloody Ground, excellent book on the Hurtgen campaign.

Honestly Sudden Strike 2 was the best in realism. Soldiers would die from one shot and that was the reason why I loved it. This one looks like any other game
units can die one shot by snipers in SS4. yes i loved the second one too but this one is really good
@@md123420 this one is nothing compared to the first and second title.
Btw, the difference of a bullet from a sniper and a common rifle is none. Both fire the same projectile.
And, there is a mod for Sudden Stike 4 that makes it much more enjoyable.
There is a serious scarcity of games like this, the market no longer rewards genre developers for making games that require patient problem solving, which is why COH formula is the most successful of the genre. SS4 is a bridge-building attempt between the two formulas, and is very much not like 'any other game', you should be grateful that these scarce games are still around at all.
I’m sure this must be on the easy level because I ran out of men by half way and his tanks drive straight through a minefield
when you see the target,you are more accurate at killing/destroying it.scout with solders and shell them when you see them. this game is soo hard when you lose units in frontal attack.played all sudden strike games and spot and bomb is the way

Hurtgen forest is the setting for the "Death Factory" and "Hill 493" missions of COD:WW2. I think.

This mission was so fucking hard. On my 3rd failed attempt, I realized you needed to use all available equipment. That means all the artillery you come across. And a shit ton of flanking maneuvers. Fucking ambushes everywhere. Oh, and I lost 3 of my tanks from the ambush that comes from the north. Great times. The final attempt made me lose all my infantry. I just decided to blitz through. Hard as fuck of a mission.
Haven't completed this mission yet. I save and load all the time haha. Thanks for the video as this mission is a tough one on setting normal. I'm also just started playing it on xbox x and just about to cross the bridge to the dam.

I was searching for a tutorial on this mission because the mission in the full game is hard as shit! The full game version of this mission is way different than the beta of the game, I guess
Yea, you need to literally use every piece of equipment you come across. So many flanking maneuvers need to made too when you go through the forest.

Whoever designed this mission must be a masochist! They barely give you anything to work with and force you to cheese. It's especially odd when most of the other Allied missions before this were fairly easy.
Ice restarted this like 5 or 6 times and the furthest I've got is to the vehicle crossing area, one problem I have is the lack of infantry reinforcements, because in the first assault I lose maybe, five guys.
God damn this mission causes me so much trouble

finally got it for the xbox and love it the first 2 i really loved alot the third one i didnt play to much but this one kicks ass. i wish i had a tad more features
Finally got past this level. Helps to kill the enemy infantry manning the Anti Tank guns and them steal them.
Somehow managed to steal an enemy Tiger too.
anti-tank grenades are essential for this mission

Just completed this mission losing no units at all. No troops, no vehicles. Nothing. Took longer but fun to do 😁

I had mortars on NORMAL and extra men but no mortars on EASY
Hey guys when you start the battle the game shows three commanders. If you choose Montgomery you’ll have riflemen submachine gunners and machine gunners with three doctors and an officer. If you choose Patton you’ll have two doctors an anti tank soldier and an officer. If choose Bradley you’ll have three doctors, a mortar and an officer. Saucy chose Bradley
I think you should learn more about war tanks in this game. Because you are sending tank hunting war tanks like wolverines to the front of the army. They are week against anti-tank guns. Send heavy battle tanks to the front of the army. It will helps to you for defend your army from attacks.
Just had to keep the enemy at bay for a bit longer to win. Thats why i yeeted them near the end. But yeah hindsight will be strong. Dont worry about it. Game literally isnt even out 😂

You still play this, Saucy? I enjoy it, but more as an extremely casual, arcadey version of Company of Heroes. The campaigns were fun to do, but tactical options are very limited imo.
What bothers me the most is the line of sight in this game. Enemies always have a way larger line of sight, meaning they could in theory use one light tank to destroy an entire battalion of your heavies if you're not paying attention. Also means you always have to use infantry as cannon fodder to see where enemy units are hiding. If you go exploring with a tank you always get bombarded to shit before you even see an enemy, which only appears if you're like 5 meters away from them. Firing range also hardly differs between regular tanks, only difference I see is with some artillery units. Frustrating and not to mention unrealistic, CoH handled that so much better.
Anyway good video's, I made good use of some of your tactics. I had no idea I had mortars with me on this mission :)

Oh correction: I don't have any mortars on me in this mission, I guess they took 'em out in the final version of the game.
Yeah the line of sight is a real problem. They need to improve that a lot for all units.

Ah yes, could be. Honestly I haven't tried any missions on easy difficulty, so no idea if that changes available resources.
Just finished all campaigns, must say the Soviet campaign was by far the most enjoyable. Skirmish and multiplayer is so incredibly limited it's laughable.
If you want to find enemies without engaging immediately is to have your infantry move up slowly, prone, and have ‘Fire at will’ off. Doing this allows you to see enemies at the edge of your vision without them seeing you.

They spawn to the west. Right next to a ton of enemy armour. So they often get shot to bits straight away. That happened to me a few times.
Hmmm finding this one mighty hard to complete....it doesn't help that on the PS4 you don't start with a mortar....just an anti tank guy that lacks range

I started with mortar. I can't get passed this level. I used every gun I found. Cleared the mines. Took out all artillery then got to the bottom and got destroyed

This mission is cheap as hell. I can't capture the German staging area no matter what. My tanks get demolished as soon as I send them in and my infantry can't do shit 😂
