I wish i can volunteer there as a railroader than just being a railroader on a class 1 railroad this is my best option i love the scenery, Speed and sound
You know... even if it being impossible... I would love to see them bring back the Star Brass 5 Chime Whistle that 4960 had from 1996 to 1998 for her 100th Centennial month in August. ^^ I mean... just so that she isn't constantly limited to her current 6 chime all the time. ^^'
That was great....I really enjoyed the video. I noticed one of the passenger cars named Anasazi which is a nice touch. America is still there if you look closely. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video. And another of the cars -- the special observation car named Max Biegert -- is in honor of the man who, along with his wife, made the current Grand Canyon Railway possible. Max Biegert is also remembered in aviation circles as the one who flew the B-17F registered N17W for many years as a sprayer. That airplane is now part of the Museum of Flight collection in Seattle.
First thing that I saw was a short stack and knew it wasn't originally a western locomotive. Still impressive. Funny thing is, my wife and I just drove past Williams an hour ago coming back from Flagstaff to where we live in Prescott.
Wow! Two train videos in as many days. Thanks. How did you get in front of the train to film it arriving at the Grand Canyon? How far is it for this run? Thanks again for a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it. The train trip covers about 65 miles from Williams, Arizona, to the Grand Canyon. Since it does not always follow the highway, and since it is often slower than the highway, we made video in Williams, then one crossing en route, and then we beat the train to the Canyon.
Me and a friend of mine are working on a documentary about 4960. Would it be alright with you if we used some of this footage for that, if we listed you in the credits?
I'm sure we can figure something out to help you. Am on the road at the moment; will get back with you in a bit. What is your deadline, and is there a good e-mail address for you... And thanks for asking.
@@airailimagesActually, other people have just agreed to let me borrow their video footage, so you don’t have to let me borrow your’s. Thank you for your reply, though.
Don't miss Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 departing Cheyenne: ruclips.net/video/tTWIPsqy9KM/видео.html
A century old but still runs like a charm.
My wife and I really want to take this trip.
I’m the one standing in the gangway of 4960.
I’m glad someone got some good shots of steam in the snow.
It was a great day for steam and snow. Glad you enjoyed it, in person and in video!
