Don't Become a Member of the Job Cult! Having a Job is like being in a Cult!

  • It sounds like you're drawing a parallel between the intense commitment often required in certain jobs and the kind of devotion seen in cults. This analogy might be used to describe environments where:
High Commitment: Jobs, especially in demanding industries, can require a significant amount of time and energy, similar to the all-encompassing nature of cults.
Groupthink: In some workplaces, there's a strong push for conformity and aligning with the company’s culture and values, akin to the pressure to conform in cults.
Us vs. Them Mentality: Some jobs cultivate a strong internal culture that separates employees from those outside the company, similar to how cults create a divide between members and non-members.
Leadership Control: In both scenarios, leaders might exert a high degree of control over members' lives and thoughts.
Sacrifices: Employees often have to make personal sacrifices for their jobs, just as cult members do for their cause.
Is there a particular aspect of this analogy you're interested in exploring further?

True some jobs are bad, but having no jobs is not good either. Either way the modern society you see before you will not continue the way it is for very long. I would say belief in modern society itself and that it can continue is a cult. Better focus on getting practical skills like DIY skills in gardening, building things and survival. When society collapses there will be no jobs but also no way to make living from youtube.

I don't know man. I have multiple thoughts about what you're saying. We need heart surgeons. we need people to work in society. Hundred percent not every human being can live a life free from having to work a job. I personally think that the key is not to Is try to get out of work, But rather you should do what you love and work in something that aligns with your passion, But also not have to rely on that source completely for your income.

There are too many barriers in the recruitment area of job searching. It seems like the new trend is internal reference based hiring. Employers these days are only looking to collect applicant data. College doesn't appear to have a positive ROI anymore, unless you already have internal references at the places you intend to apply for.

I believe there’s a way out of this system, but it’s not for the faint of heart. There are those who have never quit a job, those who did and are still grinding, and those who after years of efforts went back into the workforce… having a steady paycheck is NOT a bad thing, but I’m e

So how does this work in your ideal world? The roads, buildings, hospitals, utilities, fire departments, police services, etc... all require time. We need those services. Is everyone supposed to just do online passive income? Surly that would just saturate the market. And is any of that going to bring you $100k+ a year as easily as just putting in hard work at a job? My father put in crazy hours to support his family. Growing up we did very well and now he lives very comfortably. I don't see how doing random passive income sources from the internet can bring anywhere close to the same level of stability as to what he did. Crypto for example is extremely volatile. RUclips revenue is all over the place and is definitely not enough to support a family unless you're a top earner on the platform. Ai is extremely temporary in terms of automation on RUclips and tiktok to bring in any real form of income. The reality is the world requires jobs and lots of hours to make it. If you ask any millionaire they will absolutely tell you it takes lots of time and hard work to get to where they are. I personally hold the belief that if you aren't at least hitting 50 hours a week your have 0 right to complain.

Thanks for the long comment. Unfortunately what worked for your father isn't going to work for todays generation. My grandfather worked at a factory job and raised 5 daughters and my grandmother did not have a job. That would not work today. We need to encourage people work but the government needs to subsides the difference between what employers pay and what employees make. Im not a socialist but the government bails out farmers big banks airlines why not the common working man.

No amount of money can replace the time that's spent at a job. Most people spend most of their waking hours and their energy at a job they normally dislike. One possible way of making money without a job is to run a website of some kind. There are various ways of earning money with a website which include affiliate marketing and having ads on it. I've run an affiliate website for several years now, and I'm also working on others. Although I'm not making enough money to live on it yet, I have made enough money to know that it's a worthwhile pursuit.

You can get by with saying this but if I as a millennial try to say this to people they immediately say all this generation's just so lazy y'all don't want to work when I was your age I was working blah blah blah. Yeah like a 9:00 to 5:00 has always been effective life and that's just how it is and the way to make it is to just ground it out at the same job for 20 years and then the boss man will give you the company because he appreciates your work and it'll all pay off. I'm tired of working 9:00 to 5:00 and them expecting all this productivity and improvement and profit out of me but the profit is never reciprocated to show any appreciation to me. People want to motivate you to make them money. Like this show up early leave late go above and beyond like those are good values and there's a place for that stuff but not with somebody is counting on you going above and beyond so they can make more money
