Thank you for your willingness to review a Bible in NRSV translation. I agree with your perspective (expressed in some of your other Bible reviews) that reading scripture using different translations is rewarding. While I love the more conservative modern English evangelical translations (ESV, NKJV, NASB, etc.), I also find the NRSV to be very enjoyable to read. I really appreciate Zondervan for publishing this fantastic Bible in the NRSV in addition to the NIV and KJV.
What a great Bible for those seriously investigating the Christian faith. Hard not to ignore the validity of these archaeological verifiable places. So glad Bibles are providing more context for readers. Thanks for this review!

Now I am a huge fan of the RSV, and have two copies of that. I also have a NRSV that I rarely use. However, this is a phenomenal Study Bible. One of my RSVs has the Deuterocanicals in it, and if I remember right .... the NRSV also has that available. Those photos are strikingly beautiful. That can really put one into the culture of the Holy Land and Bible times. Great review, as usual.

Finally, a good study Bible for NRSV readers. I’ve seen one Study Bible (ELCA Lutheran Study Bible) in that translation done in 2008 by Augsburg Press for the ELCA, which in my opinion is absolutely not what a Study Bible should be. Great review here.
Hey girl, so glad you got this, I have the identical one 😄. You'll have to let me know how you're finding it as you go through it more in depth. It's been my main study bible for several months now, where I make all my notes & stuff. It's definitely in my top 3 study bibles of all time (if not #1)☺️ Just love it!

You can go to town marking this one up, you can't see it on the other side of the pages! I use regular gel pens too, not just the archival, very durable paper! 😝🤙

Nice looking Bible. I've never read the Nrsv myself, but the print on this one look absolutely beautiful. It has a lot of information. Wonder why only one ribbon though for such a large Bible. Great review though. I'd love to have the NKJV version of this study bible.
Edward Graham I think they need to do a minimum of 2 ribbons but preferably 3 on a thick study Bible like this. I’ve got a NKJV in hardcover. I do enjoy reading from the NRSV. While the NKJV is my main translation, I do use many others to see other translator perspectives, it give a much wider sense of the passage. P. S. Edward, just as an FYI, I also have this in the NRSV, yes the print & paper quality is outstanding, super easy to read. I also had the NIV edition. As far as I'm aware, the NKJV has the same print as the NIV, which is nowhere near as good as the NRSV. It's still readable but the font is very thin & light, it was definitely harder for me to read, night time reading was out for sure, but I have no problem whatsoever reading the NRSV at night. The NIV paper is also of a lesser, thinner quality, there's noticeably more ghosting.
@@emelphick4742 I'd really like to own this one in the NKJV. Getting Bibles like these proves difficult for me but I certainly will try. For the most part it will take me about year to save enough money to get one, but I certainly will be trying to get the nkjv. You have so many videos, I could spend hours trying to go through them all. lol This particular Bible looks similar to my Archeological study Bible but different enough that I am starting a fund to get one. Just saw this recommended in my YT stream and went to your Amazon link with the intention of buying it, depending on how much they were currently asking for it. Took the time to read some of the comments and I'm glad I did because I didn't see red letter anywhere in the gospels as you were turning the pages, yet it says it is red letter in the description. Found a couple of comments that stated that even though the description of the Bible states it is a red letter text, it is in fact not. I still kind of considered buying it anyway, just for the content provided. It was under $40 too, which added to the temptation. But, since I'm not familiar with the RSV, I chose to save my money and wait. I have noticed that Rose Publication does a lot of Biblical data, like maps and other historical places mentioned in Biblical text. Maybe I will take a peek at some of their books!

Walton are the Authors of this Cultural Backgrounds SB and of the IVP Bible Background Commentary as well,.....If i already have the IVP Commentary ....that means that I already have all of the study notes that are in the Cultural Backgrounds SB? ........whats the difference between them??
Sebastián Elisée Véronique I don’t have this one anymore but it’s just got what’s shown in the video, if a Bible has the Apocrypha books I will show it and mention it so if I didn’t say anything about it then it doesn’t have them. Not all NRSVs have them but if they do it will be listed on the box and/or the slipcase it comes in.
