The deck-building game that has the best mechanism to clean up your deck that I found so far is 'Venom Assault', it has a 'Retirement Phase' near the end of a turn, where you can, not have to, remove a card from your hand.
Co-op, yes. I don't know anything about G.I. Joe, but it is said to be loosely based on that comic. Kickstarted this one (2015 iirc), so not sure if it ever hit retail.
Legendary Alien was the first deckbuilder I played that I liked. I really like the playmat that comes with these games. If there was a way to mix this with Alien it would probably be a must get, but I think I might end up getting Predator before I get this one. While that might seem negative if they had kept the exact same rules as Alien I don't think the theme would fit as well as it does. I like the episode phase. So I'm looking for to trying this, but I think it's going to be a while. I agree that not getting rid of basic cards is a nuisance.
It works pretty well. Coordinate cards become less useful, but your deck powers up much faster. You are also more vulnerable to Crew Strikes. It's not the full experience, but it's nice not to have to manage 2 or more decks!
I saw the AntLabs playthough not too long ago (ruclips.net/video/Yaz7lE8AfGk/видео.html) and the GameNight (ruclips.net/video/VUNKhXQa4KI/видео.html) Marvel version, and the both seem really great. I probably will never get the Alien one, as the theme is a bit more intense, but the other two are definitely on my radar.
If you get one, I would recommend this onve over Marvel. Marvel is a semi-coop and for me it just did not fit the theme at all. You also are buying cards from all the heroes so you don't even feel like a hero. . . Legendary Encounter Firefly is much better in my opinion.

Ohh Venom Assault! Haven't heard of that one! Is it a co-op?

Cool i will have to look this up thanks!!
Firefly is a great show. Really interested in the theme.
You forget to start the episode B with two cards in the verse, before adding one more in the beginning.
Thanks for that!

hand you gotten the alien expansion yet? it makes the game much harder!! I love it!
No I haven't. I was waiting to see a review...Does is add another movie?
it adds 6 more objectives and two dufferent locations but I am not sure if it is from the movies or not I have not seen them 🙁
LOL that's crazy that you haven't seen the movies but like the game.
I know I know! I got it because I enjoy deckbuilders and it did not dissapoint!
You Also did forget to start the episode C with 4 cards allready in the verse... before putting that Beginning card to there.
Apparently I didn't like that rule hahahaha!!
:) it really make the game a ”Little bit more demanding” as co-ops should be ;)
Have you tried this one single-handed solo? I just finished a campaign that way. It was a lot of fun!
Thanks for the idea!! Looks like that is what I will be doing soon thanks!! Is it good with just one character?

Thanks! That's a really good point. I'm a big fan of highly-themed game mechanics
The for sure go with Firefly! Thanks for watching!
