Hey Lester - I’ve left a comment on your previous video with some facts about ostriches. The first thing I’ve noticed in this video is that Carlito looks thirsty. Ostriches enjoy water and often take baths where water sources are available. They are good swimmers too according to a website I’ve found on google. Please place a water-through for Carlito in the area where he is pacing back and forth and try to spray him with water like you’re spraying Annie & Ernie and see if he likes it. Also, the common ostrich (Struthio camelus) has a lengthy breeding season that stretches from March or April to September… so you will need to do more research before putting him with the littles. You know Ringo is unpredictable and for sure you don’t want anyone to get hurt. We can all google the internet to find more information about ostriches but your best bet is to ask Carlito’s previous owner for more advice and perhaps bring him over to give you more ideas or more options fir this beautiful bird. I’m sure we all have good intentions and that’s the only reason you’re receiving so many comments on your post.
Lester, y ou know geese have to have water to clean out their nostrils. I would think ostriches do as well. Witch chickens, you have to show them the water and push their beak in the water so they know. Maybe you can take a 5 gal bucket out to the fence row and hope Carl knows to drink from it. Fill it to the top! And leave it.
According to Google ONLY..they get moisture from there food and they need very little water but will stop at a water source and drink and bath ..so ..id like to think like any animal when it's thirty itll drink and when hungry eat ..he has been eating so thats good

Sometimes we make a slightly knee jerk reaction with the very best intentions, but may not be in the best interest of the family. Lester, if you decide to allow Carl to move to another rescue, it is not a failure. Humility to recognize this may be too big for you is not the same as a fail. Praying for your family and your babies.
Exactly! Carl needs to find a new home for the sake of harmony at Ima Surviver Sanctuary. Shame on his previous owner for not doing enough to keep those two ostriches apart. He could have put up another fence line so they couldn't get at each other.
@@suzanneyoung8011 Well thank God Lester is a great human being that saved Carl and respected and valued his life and only a month after you guys responded Carl has shown he belongs!
Such a beautiful and honorable rescue that you’ve done. Carl is a majestic creature and it will be such an interesting journey for you all and your viewers. I did first think, “Oh boy, what has Lester done this time” , but I see that you’re been very cautious and you’re practicing due diligence with your care and research. (I’m sure Cornholio is having a bit of an identity crisis at this time🤣.)
The little might be interested in Carl but they don’t know how dangerous he is. One ram from ringo and Carl will show him what he can do and the result won’t be good.
Hi Lester. If you didn't already: Please get in touch with your local bird station/ bird sanctuary in order to find the correct food and so on for Carl. Also give him enough time to adapt. As you said in the first video, I suggest to give him way more time to adapt, before introducing him to the littles. Ostriches can be dangerous, even though they normally run away in case of danger.
Good afternoon Lester. Day 2 or 4 don't really matter, I just want to see that Carl is having a good life at the sanctuary. I really don't know how the littles and Ringo would act with him but I would do research and with an open mind that will help you decide which other animal would be good with him. Take care, have a great night.
I hope Carl gets settled in and is not thinking about jumping that fence and going home. Yes he’s getting food and water and he has company but he’s the only one of his species and probably feels all alone. That was so sweet of Tex to go back in his pasture like the good boy he is 🥰. Santiana and Pearl had to try themselves though. 🤣
Ivy and her click: What on tar-nations are y'all feeding those feathered babies, Humans? They go into the barn AND they come out looking like a THUNDERBIRD! GOOD to see things are going ok. Moo & Carl seem to be alright with each other🤗❤❤😉

Lester, I’m sure you’ve thought this through and I’m trusting your instincts and your ability to protect those littles but I echo what many of your followers had stated. Please have a rescue plan in place if things go bad. It takes one kick, one moment in time to change the life of a little. My heart can’t take it if one of them gets hurt, especially sweet Shirley and Pebbles. They have my ❤️ but then again so does Mr. Huck, Pig Trudy, Pig Newton, Lola, Lenny, Rose, Sophia, Blanche, Brady, Laverne, Tiny Tim, Ringo, Ernest, Grannie Annie and the list goes on. I will agree though, that if it goes well, Carl will be a great deterrent for predators which is awesome. He’s a beautiful bird and he’s blessed to have you and Jami. I know you will do your research and do what’s in the best interest of him and the littles. It’s one of those moments where I’m excited and nervous all at the same time.
Carl has it made. How lucky is he to have such a beautiful place to live. I think he will be a gentle giant like Moooo. Can’t wait to see what’s to come with him and the littles. 💖
Annie could have done great harm to Maggie if she really wanted to. Carlito has a great deal more speed than Annie! The dogs need to be prevented from entering Carlito's pasture!
@@vickieturner8688 I'm not speaking of Maggie or the other dogs that belong there. I am talking about the ones that keep busting in that have killed babies, like Peep. They will see Annie and Carl and turn themselves inside out to get away.
They were all so good about going back into there pasture tho I thought that was so awesome Lester no real struggles to get any of the longhorn family in the pasture nicely done Lester longhorn lol
Lester, please give it until next weekend before you move Carl. Give him, and the rest to completely get assimilated. You will know much more about Carl's body language as well. 💚💚

This whole thing makes me so nervous. The person Lester got Carl from should have told him more about him. I'm afraid the babies are going to get hurt. 😥
Lester, people don’t want to prove you wrong, they are telling you that bird is dangerous. We all know you are a proud man and you don’t want to be wrong. Don’t let your pride get in the way. Imagine Sissy getting in there and Carl kills her. You would carry that with you for a long time. Start looking for a place to rehome that bird.

Poor moo, he always trying to shake off all the flies that cover his back. Be patient putting him in with the littles, you don’t want them to get hurt. Better do some research or reach out to some other farms that have an ostrich with other farm animals.
It sure is something looking back at this and seeing how they've all come along so well. Especially Carl and Tex... You were so right by reading their body language to determine what they want.
The littles do a lot of biting and head butting. Carl may respond with a killer kick when they do it to him. But hey we learn more about Carl every day.
Lester…..I think people are just scared! Now that doesn’t mean they can be nasty or rude. Some people or most worry about the babies and their fear comes across the wrong way. No one wants the babies hurt especially you and Jami. I know enough about the love you have for the sanctuary that you will continue to protect you babies. Don’t take what they say to heart! Just do what you do to protect all your babies because Most of us know Jami is reading up and you are asking questions. If you feel it’s not the right fit you will find a new home for Carl. You got this one way or the other..Love watching you videos everyday. Keep it up!
Emu, Ostriches really walk around fences. They will be down to dirt in a matter of weeks they are usually very good with security because of how quickly they can run!
The soap opera you make up is so hilarious that I have to watch everyday to see what story you or Jaime is going to tell thank you for the laughs I needed them

I watched LE’s video about Carl, now Jami is making one? That’s super, I want to watch them all! I hope Jami doesn’t need a parrot anymore, now the Carl the Giant is here. I love Moo. Moo is so chill🖤🐄
I read that Ostrich's don't like to be in shelters, they stay outside in the open, no matter what the weather is. So you will have to put his water outside for now, maybe he will come up to the barn eventually, but it will be a while if he does. Moo is a great choice for Carl's first friend and they match! As far as the Little's, I fear that goats, especially Ringo likes to hit pretty hard with their horns, that could be bad, because not only could he hurt them after being butted, the goats could break one of Carl's legs. Ostrich's in the wild hang out with large mammals, such as Zebras, Antelope, etc, He may be interested in the Little's, but he doesn't know that goats butt. If it would be guaranteed that the goats would have enough sense to not butt a giant bird, it would be fine, but goats are unpredictable. Plus you really can't read what an Ostrich is thinking or their body language, not yet, that takes time. I vote that he goes out with the Big's, he is doing well with Moo, he will more than likely do well with the rest of them and Tex can have his pasture back. I think there won't be a problem with Tex and Carl, once Tex understands that Carl is part of the family. But putting Carl in with the Little's, especially so soon, I'm not being a nay sayer, but I am saying, there could be too much on the line that could result in terrible consequences, consequences that could impact Ringo, Annie, Ernie, and even Pig Trudy, because if something happens to her friends, she is going to jump into the fray as well. And everyone is worried about Carl hurting someone, but he could be hurt, he may be big and be able to kick, but if he is ganged up on by Annie and Ernie, what if he doesn't even try to kick, but tries to get away and jumps the fence, right now, he doesn't have a reason to jump the fence, but if he is getting attacked, then he will have a reason to try and escape. Then there could be bad consequences that come from that, he could get hit by a car, cause a car accident, or someone might decide they need to shot him, because he might hurt somebody, or he could just die from exhaustion and stress. He hasn't drank anything for a day, he needs a few days to recuperate from being moved and put in a totally different place, with a lot of different people and animals, he is afraid of the barn, so he is out in the sun, with no water and stressed. He needs to have time to recover, get dehydrated and more comfortable with the whole new world he has found himself in. Then you need to think about yourself, how would you feel if you let Carl in with the Little's and something went wrong and one or more Little's got hurt or even killed, you don't need that guilt on top of everything that is going on with you right now. And Annie, being a guardian of the Little's is something that she does well, she certainly doesn't need any help and you have to consider the fact that she is probably pregnant. so there she is, a serious guard for the Little's, pregnant with a bunch of hormones pulsing through her and this large bird shows up on her turf. It could end up putting her through so much stress, she could loose her baby. It's a big job to introduce a new animal with the rest and you need to look at all the pros and cons. Another one would be, if things go bad in the Little's pasture, then there would be the problem of trying to separate them and that could end up with you, LE or Jake getting hurt. So many things to consider, oh, one more, the people who watch everyday and have their favorites, many of your animals are therapy animals for many people around the world and so that should be taken into consideration as well. I have one more, Carl is big, that means he belongs with the Big's. That's why you have a Big's and a Little's pasture, so the Big's don't accidentally hurt the Little's. Carl is doing great so far, he is fine with Moo. There is just so much potential heart ache that could happen if he were put into the Little's pasture and it wouldn't even be Carl's fault, it would put him in the cross hairs of getting his legs rammed, because that is what Ringo does or him getting attacked by Annie, because that is what she does, as far as she is concerned, the minute he steps into the pasture, then he is a potential threat, he is not a cute little baby that needs protected, he will be a threat and she is pregnant. I hope you consider all of these things, the pros and cons, I think it just isn't a good thing to put him in with the Little's, it's not worth taking a chance at this time. Besides, he could make a wonderful guard animal for the Big's, they show up with scratches and signs of something messing with them, Carl would be a plus to help keep them safe, while the Little's have Annie.
You should put a bucket of water for him outside of the barn and see if just the curiosity of the bucket would get him to drink then slowly move it to the barn where the other container is. Because he could be scared to get contained.
“PEARL, You just got back from band camp!” 😂😂😂😂

Pearl sounds like she REALLY enjoyed bandcamp. You got a herd of hoochies 😂❤
Good morning Lester please be careful ,you don't if this ostrich will hurt the little babies, one kick and that baby night have to be put down.
Love ALL your babies. God Bless your family for what they do.
Donkey Dan going to the ice cream truck is hilarious. What a spirit.
So awesome watching Carl very different watching him versions the farm animals.
Nope, 'Lester is not so bad after all'. Carl is one lucky Ostrich to have found a home with such a loving family.
Love you guys!💕
Also, just read that Ostriches drink up to 10 liters of water a day, but can go several days with any water at all.
As stated earlier. One kick from Carl with kill the littles instantly.
I’m sure you got got “How to ….. Ostriches “ and Jamie does her research… I’m rooting for Carl to get along with everyone! Thanks for sharing 💞
Those two Santana and Pear. Are a mess.😂😂😂❤❤❤
Pearlfriend gave you a look when you starting talking smack about the mother daughter duo.🤣🤣
💚💚
Carol is so beautiful. And in your other video, when the turkey started gobbling, I couldn't un-hear him shouting "I thought I was the big bird."
The little might be interested in Carl but they don’t know how dangerous he is. One ram from ringo and Carl will show him what he can do and the result won’t be good.
Exactly 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ice cream truck!❤️ I knew it was coming up your driveway before I even saw it.
Look at beautiful graceful Carl strutting.>
Moo is one of my favorite. I like his white spot that looks like a giraffe on his side.
Carl is amazing to watch...looks like he has tights on..lol. Hope all stay safe, and all goes well with the new addition.
Carl knows pigs and dogs from his previous home, but Annie is the boss
Moo::"ohhh Dad, I hate these flies, can the darn flies make friends with Carl first??"🐮🐄❤❤🤗
He knows he can dominate in the next yard, don’t do it Lester!
Dan wants a vanilla cup, please! Lol!
Awww, Donkey Dan wanted an ice cream.
Moo is such a sweet guy! He is indeed a gentle giant. I sure hope that Carl is sweet to the littles when you try putting him in their pasture.
They are just being good old fashioned Hussies! That's what we call em in my neck of the woods! I love it!! Lol bahahaha heeeee heehee!!
Lol I almost spit my coffee from laughing at "Pearl! You just got back from band camp!" 🤣😂
Ivy and her click: What on tar-nations are y'all feeding those feathered babies, Humans? They go into the barn AND they come out looking like a THUNDERBIRD!
GOOD to see things are going ok.
Moo & Carl seem to be alright with each other🤗❤❤😉
Lol
@@tammiemcwilliams4259 😂🙃
Carl is Beautifully majestic !! I know you’re the animal whisperer and Carl is going to adapt and live a wonderful life !! Just watch his feet Lester ... their feet & legs are powerful & they are their defense 😉😉Oh !!! He’s Beautiful !! I love y’all & God Bless ya 🙏😊♥️♥️
No no Lester you needed to be more patience nono take your time. No rush no rush
Carl is such a beauty! I'm so in love.❤️
Can you imagine the dogs that keep coming in the pasture? They are going to freak when they see Carl.
@@shannonkohler5310 Sorry I misunderstood.
💚💚
He looks happy! Ostriches put out their wings and run toward things he isn't happy with.
Carl is a very cool animal. You will work it out with all the animals. People have to realize that you are not going to do anything to hurt the bigs or littles. God bless.
Lester and Jamie congrats on Carl he is beautiful.
What a great video! Good luck w Carl. He looks wonderful!
Oh boy I'm so excited to see what Carl brings to my favorite RUclipsrs farm. He looks so funny out there in that pasture!! I'm waiting for the video that has you running through the pasture from this ginormous ostrich. Does this mean Pearl is pregnant?? I know a Aunt and niece duo that were bad girls very bad girls!!!!
I do believe that Granny Annie has some competition with watching the littles. Looks like Carl is wanting to protect them also.
Pearl got the “taste of medicine” at band camp…. 😂😂😂
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂
@@ImaSurvivorSanctuary 😂😂😂
Carl is beautiful ❤️
JASON sent me from Cog Hill!!lol
So glad he did.
This whole thing makes me so nervous. The person Lester got Carl from should have told him more about him. I'm afraid the babies are going to get hurt. 😥
Love you Moo. Gentile, sweet giant.
The ice cream truck...how awesome that it is out in the country. Everyone knows that sound. LOL! 😂🤣 Moses & Billy are off limits. 😜 Lester ...your commentating is hilarious! Making me laugh this morning. It's only 7:13 am here. 🤣😂👍 You just came back from band camp. Oh my gosh! 👍😂🤣Good thing I'm not drinking my coffee...I would of spit it out all over my computer. Thanks for sharing your day with us. Always enjoyable. 👍🇨🇦😊
If you can get him to walk closer to the fence he would be a great edger.
I was reading that your fences needed to be lined with gravel because they walked the fence like that.
The soap opera you make up is so hilarious that I have to watch everyday to see what story you or Jaime is going to tell thank you for the laughs I needed them
Lester be real careful around him because the they fight is kicking and that's how they protect their selves so real careful
He’s beautiful look at his color!!!
Been sitting here waiting for my favorite page to upload it's daily video and thank God it's here stopping everything I'm doing just to watch! Thank you Lester and Jami I'd be lost without y'all's videos. I wonder if after a little bit of time if y'all got Carl a female companion if that might also work out.
Same here lol
@@chasesmom5287 I had been sitting here refreshing my youtube waiting patiently and got so excited when the notification popped up lol
CONCERNS 🤔🤔🤔🤔🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 For Lester and All Littles I really wouldn’t want u to put Carl with the LITTLES AT ALL NOT KNOWING REALLY HOW HE WILL REACT. So Please be extra careful with him.
We are blessed to have you along for the ride
@@ImaSurvivorSanctuary i Hagee been addicted to y'all since the "run Maggie run" video. I love that y'all are down to earth type of people and the fact y'all show everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly. To me that shows y'all are human like everyone else and i absolutely love y'all
You Had Plenty of Fun!!Got Me🤣🤣🤣You've Watched Too Many" Novelas"Lester🤣🤣
I love the Carl videos. I hope there are tons of Carl videos, it is fascinating to watch him move, he is amazing. Has PawPaw met him? I would love to hear PawPaw’s reaction. I watched LE’s video about Carl, now Jami is making one? That’s super, I want to watch them all! I hope Jami doesn’t need a parrot anymore, now the Carl the Giant is here. I love Moo. Moo is so chill🖤🐄
Jami said in her Birthday video she wants a Rhea (Nandu) next year..
Lester knew
I just wanna give Moo a big hug!!! 🤗 pretty sure that would instantly cure depression & all sadness!
Carl may not get along with Annie since she is the littles protector.
Exactly 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Niet erbij laten nu ze inverwachting is van een baby bij Carol.
Carl is dangerus for All of the other animals
Ostriches don't normally drink water if given the right vegetation.
