All jumps take offs involve pre-rotation, that's the hooking part of edge jumps and clear upper body rotation of toe jumps. You can clearly see in this video, before he took off, his upper body and head had already turned around about 70-90 degree. Nobody jumps with 0 pre-rotation. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with picking on pre-rotation yet showing examples with obvious pre-rotations.

      Right, his pre-rotation is not 0 degree. It's about 90 (1/4) degrees.

it matters because there are skaters like him doing jumps correctly without doing 90% of the first rotation on the ice. and then there are russians who get +5 goe for atrocious jumps. prerotation is in the ISU handbook but only gets called if they don’t want you to win. there are russian federation members talking about bribing judges like it’s a regular, normal thing they do and you think we just shouldn’t care what jumps are supposed to look like. the prerotation in this video is nonexistent compared to the “winners” we’ve had lately.

It depends on the jump. Also prerotation means twisting of the foot, not the upper body. Salchow, toe loop and loop are supposed to have a bit prerotation, around 1/2. However flip and lutz are supposed to be executed with zero to minimal prerotation. Hanyu's lutz has zero prerotation. No one is complaining about normal amounts, only when there is excessive prerotation which makes the jump much easier. For example anna sherbakova's quad lutz has 3/4 prerotation and it's 1/4 underrotated, making it a triple, but judges still give her credit for a quad. That's what people are complaining about🤔

      Wrong all of u
Some people re-rotates and some don’t so, its not every ice skater pre-rotates
      (I ice skate that’s why)

No prerotation? Wait till you find out about toeloop, salchow, loop jumps

Racist much? Who the fuck told you yuzuru was a martial arts expert? Are you assuming that just because he is Asian?
