The company missed a HUGE military marketing opportunity by making the 7500/8000 so anemic ( 25' x 10' x 8')... it would be a near-perfect turnkey option for the new NATO airborne laser weapon's flight platform. For Euro-NATO members. The US already has true Stealth 5th-gen heavy bombers (B-1B/B-2/B-21) w/ superior flight performance specs. But Euro-NATO...
Does not. Pretty sure Euro-NATO nations placing orders of 10/+ planes can negotiate a per unit price ~$75 million (USD)/plane. $750 million buys ~400 air-to-air missiles ($1.875 million each). The laser fires 6x/minute. Indefinitely. That's 360x/hr. 400x in 1 hr 7 min. Range = 250-350 miles. Speed of Light.
So, 1 such outfitted plane can destroy as many targets as 400 missiles. And never runs out of "ammo". 10 such planes can destroy 8,000 targets in 2 hr (+7 min). Russia can't even launch 8,000 missiles in 2 hr.
Euro-NATO would be wise to station 10 laser planes in each of these countries: Greece, Italy, Poland, Sweden, & the UK. These 5 positions are the crux points. Greece & Italy cover the Black Sea entering into the east Mediterranean. Sweden & Poland cover the Baltic Sea into the northeast Atlantic Ocean (& circumnavigation of Finland-Sweden-Norway). The UK covers the North Sea into the east Atlantic, & any gap between Poland, Italy, or Greece's eastern flanks towards Russia.
50 laser planes have the collective capacity of 50 shots every 10 seconds. That's 300/minute. 3,000 shots in 10 minutes. And I'm pretty sure that Russia can't launch even 1,000 missiles in 10 minutes.
