Shout out to Vasishath for the edit of the new forest footage from Nintendo's website. Links to all sources cited in the description.
You mean, Zeldas to all sources, now that Link has disappeared.
"looks great. Ok let's restart it again and start from scratch"
😂
😭😭
I don't think it will be open world either, but sounds like it will be more like "open zones" where some places are more open and free to explore after your own wim.
Game of the year 2025.
Yes We can't let gta6 win. We have a duty! 😅😂
I don't know about that, normally GOTY award goes to a game with political/social/deep meaning... I would love for it to be the 2025 GOTY tho.
All that matters is if it’s the game of the year to you. Don’t worry or care about award shows. Much better life.
2025 is for gta vi
@@tascinko1982 Nobody gives a shit about GTA anymore
I REALLY want them to improve the traversal. Since Prime 3, we've had Mirror's Edge, Titanfall, Dying Light... all games that prove intense first-person platforming is possible. Samus doesn't need to be as slow compared to the 2d games anymore. The size of the room in the new footage lets me think we'll at least have a sprint, maybe shinespark.
a big part of metroid's appeal is not being like the other 900 hundred shotters available, it needs to innovate, but stay true to what makes metroid great
@@Elchinodawn Prime's mechanics were more defined by its limitations, more precisely the inputs methods of the consoles it was on. i.e GC controller not made for shooter, and wiimote being impractical and slippery. Without those limitations, the gameplay should be reexamined and other games should be learned from. Samus is supposed to be fast and agile, but it's something that was sacrificed in the Prime games because of said limitations. It doesn't have to be like that anymore.
The ability like ShineSpark is fine for occasional speed sections. But some of us like the slower pace, everyone wants fast fast fast, gotta rush through everything. SLOW DOWN AND SMELL THE ROSES PEOPLE. You can't take in the atmosphere of a new planet if you're just zooming through. We gotta stop comparing games to other games, let them breathe and have their own damn identity. Why do you want everything to be like everything else. That kills variety and creativity.
Mirror's Edge was such a good game man, sad we'll probably never get a third one :(
@@ItApproaches Games I listed are hardly every other shooter, matter of fact they're very few and far between hence my comment deploring the fact we don't see more of it. Just having the scanner as a puzzle-solving tool prevents people from rushing through. We would just have a better toolset for the platforming and the backtracking.
Can't wait for this Game I'm getting it day one.
And what if it's day one on Switch 1 then few months later improved version on Switch 2?
@@sidewinder2057 buy both duh
@@sidewinder2057 dude I'm not someone who buys the same Game twice if I get the Switch 1 version that's okay I'm not someone who cares about graphics.
The most interesting thing in the hud, in my opinion, are the cardinal points. Probably an indication that the areas are bigger.
I discovered a very long time ago in a Dutch gaming magazine while reading an interview that Nintendo almost never shows the new ability/hook in the first reveal trailers of major mainline games. That's why Wolf Link isn't in the first Twilight Princess reveal trailer and why Cappy isn't in the first Super Mario Odyssey reveal trailer. There's definitely a major hook that they haven't showed us, there always is.
I wanna know more but at the same time I don't because I wanna experience it by myself, aaaaah
Exactly. Nice to experience every moment of the game with zero spoilers
I like the idea of Bounty Hunting side quest in Metroid I would actually like to see that what I also want to see is Space Battle's in Metroid wouldn't it be cool to get in a Dog Fight in a Metroid Game?
Yes I lovedit in halo and I would love it I. Metroid
I REAAAAALLYYY hope they knock it out the park with the music. Just listening to primes music makes we want to play it again.
Did you notice the bridge in the trailer is intact, yet in the more open shot, its all destroyed.
Those familiar with Prime 3 will remember how many of the landing sites are incredibly embelished, but ultimately there was nothing to to do there besides going forward. And this is what we see in the forest room: a cliff to the left that leads to a chasm, nothing you can do about that, and to the right, a wall that is too tall for Samus to reach, even for Metroid standards, she will never be able to go up there (at least not from ground level). Furthermore, the mountain, the tree, and the bridge are all a flat texture/skybox, there isnt even a low poly model over there like in the previous Prime games, some of the distant views from Corruption could never be reached, and were there only for decoration. So Im confident the rooms will be bigger, but not much more larger than the ones in 3.
I am so excited for Metroid Prime 4
You know the simp is hard when a CC makes a 15-20 min video off of a 20 second clip.
I'm glad we finally have MP4 though.
He's not simping and he's also bringing up other articles and interviews. Maybe watch the video before complaining!
@@LinouGertz it's not a complaint. I love how CC's have the talent to draw so much out of so little. Saying "Simp" was used in a fun context.
Andres Loves Metroid and he is allowed to simp.
@@HylianBull Oh ok, simping is usualy used i a way more critical and negative tone so I just misunderstood you.
11:25 fair but the problem is that this (MP4B) *doesn't* look updated or advanced in any way. I'm not gonna say I'm seeing copium everywhere b/c I get being excited for reveal ha.
Metroid Prime Hunters is pretty much the closest we got to bounty hunting missions. In the story mode for that game, if you lost to one of the 6 hunters, they would actually steal 1 of your artifacts needed to open the final area of the game. You'd then have to travel to one of the selectable planets and hunt down the hunter that robbed you.
Bro!! Your reaction to this game was Great 🙌🏾
Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition just got a new trailer and release date, which means that we have two new trailers with "Beyond" in its name, within just three days.
I'm so _so_ happy for you Andres. *And* all the Nintendo Community, let's not forget! 🤗 Jeez, they _really_ made Us wait but finally , We have struck Gold. All the preceding , the tiny tid-bits of clues like that mention of Prime 4 on a Nintendo survey, the blue Cloud shaped like a '4' in the Prime re-Mastered official website - and of course, the painful waiting. It's all starting to come together in a most Glorious fashion!! Just 1 suggestion: you *need* to get a Prime 4 Custom emoji done! 😅😎💫🛸🌌
I’ve always wondered why they’ve referred to Samus as a bounty hunter when she’s always much more clearly fit the definition of a mercenary
Now I'm a little more hyped. I hope they expand the game instead of the same old formula. I hope we see new suits and new weapons too
The logo behind the game title is a depicrion of a real world black Hole. The subtitle «beyond» could refer to the main character falling beyond the event horizon of a black Hole. She would be spaghettified of course, but this game might have another idea of What lies within a black hole😊
I remember a leaker saying something to the effect of "It won't be open world, but the areas and rooms will be much larger."
Bounties to get upgrades to the Ship and to Samus sounds like how Retro thinks. Though what could the ship upgrades do? We still weren't flying the ship around much...
I feel like they're going the Super Metroid road : stacking beams upgrade / switching secondary weapons (missiles/super missile/grapple beam)
I really hope we are shown a dedicated direct for this game.
It took 19 years to go from Metroid 4 to Metroid 5. It will have taken 18 years to go from Prime 3 to Prime 4. That's crazy. This game really needs to show something special to justify the development time and secrecy.
Prediction: The Switch 2 will launch with Metroid Prime 4 in May followed by Mario Kart in June or July, and 3D Mario will saved for the holiday partly to tie into the Mario Movie 2 as Yoshi will play a big role in both
I dont care about open world, the fun of Metroid Prime games is the curated level design that has free movement between them. This game looks like it will be another entry with classic Metroid Prime gameplay which I am totally fine with and excited for.
Dread released around the perfect time to lend its influence to Prime's development. Dread suit as unlockable content?
Ssj3 goku comes to mind when the devs called its suffix "beyond"
“And this… is to go even further beyond!”
Ok .
If Prime 2 and 3 release in 2024 straight to the eshop either simotaniusly or gap seperated say aug and nov this will put Prime 4 as the March 2025 game. Now Prime 4 is releasing on Switch first not co launching as same time as successor. Tjat spot belongs to the Mario 3d game.
So if Prime 4 is the March 2025 game this puts the Switch 2 in the June to Sept window😊
Remember DK is in the Jan spot.
Mr Restart 🎉🎉🎉
Another thought, maybe a twist on the bounty idea will be Samus has to find and save Federation guys who went missing or are under attack by space pirates or even a boss. Some you are scripted to fail to save, but saving them could reward you, like a guy you save says I found this, not sure I can use it for anything so you take it for saving me. And it's a missile upgrade or such.
"This is the new world of metroid. It's quite a vast world isn't it? You can even reach those mountains in the distance, if you walk far enough."
Pause 1:41 ...just to the right of the waterfall running down the cliff there seems to be some kind of web-like material within those tree roots that run up the cliff... it almost blends in with the cliff but it's not the cliff... maybe at the bottom you can blast through those webs and enter inside the cliff face to grab a missile tank or something....?
they gonna take the metroids to beyond the places they have been. seems like we might have some time travel or portal mayham
One of the best trailers of the direct. It may be open world, a cross gen title after Botw. It should be goty in 2025😮😮
Should be discussing the price $60 vs $70, which one is going to be when it releases 🤔
It does not show a vast open world, just the suggestion of it. There may be some more open levels, like in Uncharted 4 though, which would nicely break up the gameplay.
A bigger world/bigger rooms and all was already kinda expected to a certain degree, m not personally surprised at least
8 abilities is cool
They called her a bounty hunter cause of han solo basically
The point of Metroid is sorta that it shouldn't be open world. It can still have open areas like Xenoblade but it still should be limited to whatever abilities you have unlocked.
i want a gta style metroid. one you can jump in a ship and go to all the planets in what ever order you want
Do people tend to feel the original Metroid Prime had major pacing issues toward the end? I found the search for the artifacts after I had gathered the weapons to be painful and it dragged the experience down quite a bit for me. Do Prime 2 & 3 have similar issues?
It's been over a decade since I've played them, but I believe that is the case. 2 I think you need to find keys or artifacts as well, and 3 you need batteries.
That machine/scientific equipment you see in the trailer that the Space Pirates are trying to take from the GF scientists could be a time machine were Sylux uses it to go back in time, causing havoc. It is up to Samus to undo the damage Sylux has done to the timeline.
Honestly I would love just more 3d MetroidVania gameplay, I don't really care if it's more or less open, as long as it feels like a Metroid game
I dont think open world would work for metroid..I mean go back to super metroid without that eerie claustrophobic, closed in atmosphere its no longer metroid...Much like i feel how zelda is no longer zelda when it went to open world and all the fun dungeons were taken away...I couldnt get into it like I did with a link to the past. Nor could I get into Metroid prime bc Samus jus felt too slow, heavy clunky and aiming was crap/auto targeting..Super metroid was fast responsive & aiming was fun no auto target...
@@peterc504 IMO lock on helps it feel more like the 2d Metroid games, as aiming in first person is way more difficult and would become a far larger part of the gameplay than in Super Metroid. I personally don't like first person shooters, but I love Metroid prime, largely because it feels like a 3d MetroidVania instead of a first person shooter to me
Tanabe: People thought Prime 2 was to difficult!
Me: Those cry babies can go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure! Prime 2 Echoes was a masterpiece!
highly doubt it will be vast. Gonna be just like the previous games. many separate areas connected by corridors.
You say the communication has gotten better with Nintendo, however I don't think that's fully accurate. It's more so that thanks to Miyamoto praising them and saying if there was anyone to make Metroid, it's Retro Studios. So Nintendo has given full control and trust to Retro to make Metroid Prime however they want. They don't want to step on Retro's feet and get in the way. Retro has shown that they are the highest quality western dev under Nintendo. Nobody works like them, thinks like them. Nintendo is there if Retro needs a bit of help, but overall I don't think there is any communication issues between them anymore.
Thumbs up if you will play this game on Switch2 in 4k instead of on Switch1
My vote is metroid prime 2 and 3 hd,as a holiday release.
Metroid prime 4 around the end of Nintendos fiscal year, which is march or April.
Them switch 2 holiday 2025,and then prime 4hd or whatever they call it shortly after
I've to play through the trilogy before I get to 4 anyway,so will take awhile
How about PC in 12k 60FPS? FP game is meant to be played with M/K lol
Metroid Prime 2 wasn't too difficult, it was an awesome game
I'm all for bigger areas, but NO OPEN WORLD PLEASE! Enough of that sh*t.
TOTALLY AGREED!!! Metroid is meant to be in closed in area...go play super metroid your inside of a planet your not running around open fields that all look the same like zelda lol going open world would ruin the entire atmosphere of these games..Much like what happened to zelda going open world and doing away with dungeones ruined it...esp the newest zelda was like minecraft building rafts and dumb shit lol
Nah, no vast world. Just big open biomes. I suspect it will be a mixture of Prime 1-3. It's not open world.
I just had a thought about the story for Prime 4...if Tanabe is going to include time stuff....what if those portals are us going back in time, what if the point is to STOP Sylux from stealing a Metroid in Federation Force?
I really hope it’s not open world… I’m getting so sick of seeing every new game come out and it being an open world style game. Metroid prime does not need to be open world to be good id like for it to be more linear like its pretty much always been for the most part. Your map indicates an area unexplored and you need to figure out how to get there from just a couple routes you can take aaaaand that’s it keep it that way.
What makes an angle beautiful I wonder...it's an angle...lol. We never say that's an ugly angle.
looks exactly like MP remastered lol I dont understand the hype here...i mean wait this long for something that looks like MP remastered? This doesnt wow one bit
🤢🤢🤮🤮 it's Defo not Open World, it's Open Zone
#AndresRestart
I hope it’s open world. I mean it would be cool if it was. But if it’s not, it’s okay, I’m sure it will still be an amazing game!
I agree! 😊
We don't know if we're gonna happen open world or anything else like that, But I hope it's gonna be an open world or open land.🏞🥰
