After another shooting in gang territory, this time nonfatal, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) speak to the victim's mother to see if the two crimes are related and Mouse (guest star Samuel Hunt) works to find a connection. To honor the deceased young victim, Antonio (Jon Seda), Platt (Amy Morton), Roman (Brian Geraghty), Burguess (Marina Squerciati), Mouse and a number of other CPD officers and members of the community come together for a candlelight vigil.

This scenario actually happened a few years back in chicago Southside..... a little boy was killed in the alley as revenge to the boys father was in a rival gang

@Tosha Hall dude it is reality TV, shows how little you know. They are designed to draw out emotions, that's their whole point, also may I remind you the OP said the mother and father are "so talented," probably because they are referring to the actors. Furthermore, I bet you didn't know some events that happen in reality TV are no only possible in real life, but do happen some even often, and even more so some are even based are real life events especially the big ones, including some in the Chicago series.
And if I remember right this scene could have even been based on real life, where someone or a group of people got beef with the father and lured his son to an alleyway and executed him. You can even search up "The death of Tyshawn Lee," 9 year old killed by gang members in broad daylight.

The fact that they didn't even show remorse or any sense of guilt towards going after and killing an innocent man's 6 year old son all because they had the same name is disturbing beyond reasonable doubt. And the fact that they let a 12 year old boy pull the trigger as well. I immediately felt a little better when Voight double slapped the 18 year old in the face, he deserved more than that but at least it was justifiable.
First of all we need a part 2, and secondly l love how when it involves a kid the entire unit feels sympathetic and is determined to get to the bottom of the case, love you guys 💖

It’s never ok to kill a child :( the fact this has actually happened is heartbreaking
Unfortunately, it's a true reality in Chicago. Kids killing kids mostly from gang involvement. Garfield Blvd, Back of The Yards are just a few areas that are gang infested, and not a lot of people are willing to say anything because of retaliation.

Well the problem is if you have 100 cases a week but can only solve 50... the backpile keeps increasing...
in that logic, you would have to leave a murder investigation to chase down a guy that's speeding.
@@ayan_kc then again, some murders are unsolvable due to some things. And what happens if there are multiple major crimes happening? Not every crime can be solved, which is a huge shame. But that's reality. The system sucks
The even more twisted part about all this is that the killers went after the wrong person. They misspelled the name of the guy they were looking for by a single letter and mixed him up with the father of the kid. So the whole reason they killed that kid was because they thought he was the kid of the guy they wanted revenge on.
This actually happened in my small NC town. Last year, rival drug dealers intentionally sought and shot the pregnant girlfriend of a competitor dealer, and she miscarried. They shot about eight times. They were sending him a warning through her.

targets have even included kids, some gang members just don't have a low that is low enough, and Tyshawn Lee was a victim of such lows.
@Tylerrr324 she and her child weren't playing, and the drug industry is a government problem, not necessarily the individuals especially when many addicts are products of the system just handing out drugs willy nilly.

I know this is a show but its sad to see innocent children die for no reason, its a big problem in the world unfortunately. Heartbreaking bro, very heartbreaking.
Even when there is a reason, it’s not justifiable to excuse a child’s murder. It doesn’t matter if it’s a vendetta, a hired hit, or the kid saw or heard something they shouldn’t have, none of it is forgivable or excusable.
I lived in the Midwest and a similar story happened in my town on my exact block but it was with the brother. Baby brother was outside playing and was killed in an execution drive by because the brother was involved in a gang. Rumor went around the brother gave them his brother as payment.

The fact that a gang mistook one Brian Johnson for a different Bryan Johnson and some innocent kid was murder over mistaken identity is heartbreaking and tragic.

The "Coming up" part at the beginning of these clips ruins them for me. I liked it before when it just started and told you the story throughout the clip for the most part, there's no need for a "coming up" on a 10minute clip....

When you have easily 100+ homicides at any one time, and only so much resources available, especially when evidence is lacking, some fall to the bottom of the pile ...
The murder, especially execution style of a barely a teenager, means that case _must_ be solved, as a priority, because who knows whose kid will be next, especially if it's gang related, as retaliation begets retaliation; it _needs_ to be solved before things escalate out of hand ...
... and besides ... anyone callous enough to shoot a young boy in the head ...? That is either Life without Parole, or the Death Penalty ...

Similar thing happened a few years ago in Chester Pennsylvania. A child was killed during a drive-by shooting by stray bullet.
Next thing you know, a car rose up in a park with three people and start shooting at three other people that are walking down the street. Supposedly they were responsible parties for the boys death
Nobody got killed. The car got shot up they abandoned the car it was holding for evidence at a local garage right around the corner from where I used to live
It was scheduled to be examined by forensics on Monday
Before Monday came, the same people that were in the car, went to the garage and burn it to the ground to hide the evidence
That Tuesday, those three people that were in the car were found guilty of murdering the three people that were supposedly responsible for the death of the boy
There was another run in and they killed all three of them
It's like eating food that l love l am so addictive to these movies ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️them

Seconding some other comments - do we REALLY need a "coming up" section to these? They're around 10 minutes. Do you really think that little of our attention span that you need to ~tease~ us for what's about to happen so we'd have the energy to actually watch it? This just seems like padding up to make the video longer, which is never a good idea. If this keeps up, only thing it achieves is that people will start skipping the first 30 seconds.

This actually happened, smh...Little man left Granny's house to shoot ball, they caught him, dragged him into an alley and executed a nine year old little boy, all because of some mess with his daddy, in Chicago.....This is heartbreaking knowing that it went down almost exactly this way😔

@@joewhitehead3 , actually they were together at the time they were having the baby, which was the time I was referring to. She knowingly dated a drug dealer, and proceeded to have his child. Had she not involved herself in that lifestyle, her child would not have been part of a revenge killing. She's at fault too.

There are cases where people involved with people involved in gangs can have an influence on them to the point where the gang members will long for a life long after the gang and want to go legit. Not everyone can have a life that’s worth having without walking away from the life they have right now. You want to go work for a supermarket, be a truck driver, even something as simple or low as being a delivery person for a meal service, you have to sever your ties with the gang life and take the road of legitimacy and struggle. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

You understand guns aren’t just given to anyone you need a license that needs a background check and being 21 yrs old for a handgun the only way guns get into the wrong hands that cause gang shootings etc is because the guns are either stolen, straw bought or smuggled banning guns for normal civilians would put them at risk because it wouldn’t have any effect on criminals because they would still have guns and normal citizens who just want to be safe wouldn’t
This is why you don’t procreate with low life criminals. His son was killed because he was a part of a rival gang. Keep your legs closed and stay away from these “men” who contribute nothing to society.
