Force to move is very important against the world bosses. On Ashava at least, there were plenty of times I wanted to move in close to avoid her scythe-like sweeps, but my Sorcerer would just stop to fire because even though I would try to click around the boss, the pointer would always land on it anyway half of the time.
Mouse button 4 makes a great force move button, with hold position on spacebar and the dodge on "5" or "²" (or whatever you have on the left of your "1"). Don't forget you'll need a button for the mount too.
I got force move on left click and attack on A button. That's how I play, it's nice since I used A button for auto attacking in League of legends as well. Also ofc using the Q,W,E,R for my spells and mouse button for potions.
same, more comfortable. i use capslock(deactivated) or shift for basic attack n left click for move/activate. mouse buttons for dodge(m4) and potion(m5 and/or A).

Now that is useful! I hate using my mousewheel for forced move but I'm constantly using a spacebar for force-stand even when I don't need to do it. So unbinding attack from LMB but still be able to attack with spacebar pressed is a big for me. Forward mouse button for evade and Back mouse button for potion. QWER for skills
So for me it will most likely be LMB : Move/Interact RMB : Basic attack Abilities : 1,2,3,4,5 instead of 1,2,3,4 previously where I can put my energy spending ability on 1 on rogue. This is great for me tbh
I'm so used to wow/poe/last epoch etc. where you use QWER for spells, that way you can have important and quick access to any utility like potions, portals, scrolls from 1-5. So if you are used to MMO binds, qwer is very much recommended, reaching keys towards me feels so awkward, and I can never get used to it. Make sure to rebind menu keys on A, S, tab map to something u can't miss click. No reason to have those that close to spell binds. No map overlay in D4 anyway, so It's fine to have it on 4-5 G, C whatever. I'm sure I'm not the only one who have ended up in a situation with either map or skill menu open by missclick xp
Unchecking the “merge action and interact button” option on gamepad was a huge quality of life improvement, it’s super hard or impossible to pick up items when there are enemies attacking you.
@@Nano32333 makes it so you can assign different button for interactions and the base attack. I'm also on ps5 and I did this. You'll want to uncheck the combine interaction/basic attack bind and set a new one for each. Personally I use R3 for interaction and swapped lock-on to L3. Hope this helps!

I didn't have a problem with attack/move/interact all being LMB when I was playing my barb, but now that I'm trying other classes, I need to change it. I was looking for some good vids about keybinding and found yours, thanks Wuji. I had already rebound 1, 2, 3 and 4 to Q, W, E and R and made potions 3. Just need to figure out how I want to move around. We need a testing ground.
First time playing a diablo game and I'm actually shocked that there is no option to use WASD instead of mouse. You'd think such a basic feature would be here but apparently not...

If you dont use any targeting skills I would recommend to just use a controller - even on pc. Not the best choice for every build, but a great choice for plenty of them.
Pinky on SHIFT key, Z is force move, X is potion, C is movement/utility skill, SPACE is force move. Movement/utility skills are things I use a lot and benefit from quick reaction like Teleport, Dash, Trample, Leap, or any skill that procs a movement buff. I learned to use the Shift through C keys years ago from some random D3 YT'r and it's the single most impactful thing I've learned to date. Precise movement and control is everything. Console kids can just cry through it all with a box of lil debbies. So, when your mouse wrist starts to ache all you have to do to stop the aching is start using a force move key. You still use your mouse pointer to control your movement and attacks but its the button clicking which aggravates carpal tunnel, especially holding the buttons down for hours. You fingers contract when you tighten the ligament that's attached to it and the ligaments all pass through a sort of sheaf or sleeve in your wrist. Think... the velcro cloth ring you bundle your computer cords with. With over use the ligaments and sleeve get tightened up and it refers all kinds of crazy pain through your hand and up your arm. Feeling wrist pain? Try using a force move key to remove the pain immediately, its holding down the index finger that's doing you in. You just have to train yourself to do it but it's good to learn. Some builds I played in D3 absolutely required it. Like everything else, take it or leave it. Edit: I assign all my 1-4 skills to mouse buttons. You need a decent mouse... I use a Razer Basilisk or Naga

Setting a force move is the most important thing as it removes much of the strain on your mouse hand. I found that my pinky can't handle that strain for long but my second finger over the Z key can. Try it, my pinky wants to give out after a while.
@@Shoop... Thanks for the reply. I went out and bought a multiple button mouse like you said, but the ones you mentioned were quite expensive, so I got a Logitech G305 for $39. It has two side buttons and two on the top in addition to the standard two. I figured I could make it work with just the two on the sides and the keyboard. Thanks again for your recommendation.
@@bvwalker1 The mouse I'll be using has three on the side so that's perfect. On the keyboard you can just reassign the A, S, D, and V keys to any skill you want, that way you don't have to look at the keyboard and reach across for a number key.
I put my force move on W key. And its kinda annoying that its 2023 but wasd movement was not considered, especially with a game that you will fight and accidentally click on big Ashava most of the time, and avoiding mech feels clunky.

Is there a "Force Stand Still" like in D3? I like to use that with a ranged character. I set it to "Spacebar" and hold it down to attack from afar without my character starting to move toward the danger. Is there a way to set it that way in D4? Thanks!
The way I do it is binding spacebar to force stand still and rebinding the dodge for a mose side button, this way I can force move/interact with my left mouse, while tapping spacebar does the basic attack.
when did they change force move? launch was crap, so im trying season 2, now i have to click twice to make my guy move and stop. i want to click, move, stop. not click and move, move, move, move. my mouse barely moves and he reroutes, i cant hover over anything or i change directions. i dont want to hold shift to attack either.
Good info. I'm using an ancient trackball without the wheel but playing rogue or sorc I usually attack with the "force stand still" button anyway - I can just switch it to "force attack". Thanks for the tip :)

@@yerrrr9090 Yeah. Cheap laptop mouse with the wheel plugged to my PC :) I covered the movement sensor with black electrical tape and placed it above the trackball. It's just a stopgap 'till I can afford Game Ball. Clunky but it works.
nevermind i found it, just click the seperate keybind button the put left click on move/interact, by default shift left click is basic skill even if nothing is bound to it
as a moba player forcing walk on mouse wheel is very unusual. i prefer forcing walk with with left click. is there any advantages of having it bind on mousewheel?
You keep scrolling. I'd test it first to decide if it is for you. It can be tiring after long sessions and there is additional wear on your scroll wheel button that some may be concerned about. But it also improves reaction time from what i've experienced and makes it easier to kite.
Don't know if you ever got your answer, but no, just bind both input 1 and input 2 and scroll back and forth. Takes some getting used to but it's a great way to move.
Need some help, When trying to set the force move option to my L click, when I hold shift to attack it won't work.(shift is set in the bindings) But when its set normally it works. I am a Rogue, I hold down mouse left button (Puncture) for gaining combo points/energy , and spamming mouse right button for my Twisting Blade, but whenever I click right button while holding down the left button, my character will start moving towards to wherever my mouse cursor is, is it normal ? its frustrating that it will mess up my DPS and miss hitting the boss.
How do I reset the dungeons? I don't see the reset button anymore, and it has already been like 12 hours since I last completed them, and they are still not resetting.
Dungeons reset 1 minute after you finish them. No more reset button. The green check mark remains whether it resets or not. That is tied to your codex of power unlocks.
I used to have force move on space bar and no generator build on left click (like a necro aura or something) in d3. generators are almost 100% required now and that stupid dash roll move now makes it that I need to change my setup ugh
Can you have autocast playing with the control? As soon as I touch a control button they are deactivated. I think it's a mistake, can you help me report in the forums?
@@wudijo thank you for the reply. Unfortunately with that option disabled I still 'scroll' the keybinds page and can't get the 'move' section to see the scroll wheel. It just keeps moving the page up and down. 😮💨 Maybe it is something wrong with my mouse?

I’m a d1&2 veteran. I enjoyed holding “alt” to bring up item names. I would like to keybind alt in d4 so when I hold it I can force move but when I let go it goes back to normal. Does anyone know if this is possible?

My force move is on W as well, felt most natural because that’s where my hand wrests on the keyboard in most games.
I prefer to Hold Shift with my pinky. I also bound my 1,2,3,4 keys to QWER & potion to 1 to fit my hand better.
1:32 This doesn't work for me on some reason. It worked in D3! I have to click every item. :(

It's a shift by default but you can rebind it to a spacebar. You just need to move an evade button somewhere else.

@@wudijo thank you for the reply. Unfortunately with that option disabled I still 'scroll' the keybinds page and can't get the 'move' section to see the scroll wheel. It just keeps moving the page up and down. 😮💨 Maybe it is something wrong with my mouse?
@@wudijo I finally figured out that you must first 'click' into the box to then be able to set the scroll wheel. I am an idiot! Thank you again for the video I got my settings correct now.
My mousewheel won't bind to Force Move. Any way I can fix that? Been bothering me since the closed beta, been trying to get it bound since.

I really want WASD movement seem hard to find a program for D4
I just use W on force move and attacks are 1,Q,E,R left click, right click.

I’m a d1&2 veteran. I enjoyed holding “alt” to bring up item names. I would like to keybind alt in d4 so when I hold it I can force move but when I let go it goes back to normal. Does anyone know if this is possible?
If you have a customizable keyboard, you get it in the manufacturer's software. I know that Icue from Logitech provides this option.

I just use left click as move only, right click as basic skill and E on keyboard as main skill.

In D3 I was a spacebar force move enjoyer, but now with the dodge I don't know what feels the best.
Same here. I'm thinking to use FM on Spacebar and Dodge on a mouse side button. Our maybe CTRL

I can't change bindings. It immidiately sets to F13 key.

This is a widespread problem and I had it too, turns out, it’s completely the nvidia overlay.
press alt + Z and turn off instant replay if you are using Geforce experience it solved it for me
oh thats assuming alt z is the default to open geforce experience thingy........i dont actually know lol
@@WinterXI I have instant replay turned off so I guess I have to turn off overlay completely. I didn't have this issue in first beta when I didn't use it so must be it.
