I think most would agree that the writing in Genshin has really hit it's stride but writing aside, can we talk about how damn good the audio design is in the game. They do such a great job of using audio cues to amplify the emotions of a scene.
Fr tho, the way they take the mysteious/sad fontaine theme and crank up the emotions by putting it in major key then play it over her realising she didn't just fail and get an entire nation of people dissolved gets me every time That and Neuvi ascending into the sky with the super emotional opera, it's so damn good

For the first time, our role in archon quest is a spectator over the main character. Because the protagonist is Neuvilette, and the hero is Furina and Focalor. And I can't even complain. Fontaine Archon quest is another great masterpiece since Sumeru arc.. Also really sad as well. Genshin Impact? More like Tragic Impact.

This archon quest really did a 180 on the way EVERYONE sees Furina. Crazy how a well developed story can change your outlook on a character COMPLETELY.
I do agree with you but at the same time many people liked her projected persona already and many also suspected that it was all an act from early on (myself included). It was pretty obvious from the start that there was going to be more to her than just being brat.

focalors death scene gets me every time. amber lee connors and ray chase absolutely smashed the voice acting, and the music... ugh it's truly peak genshin for me.

9:20 "This is very Bible, Noah's Ark". Yeap. I mean, i don't see many people pointing this out, but the whole of Fontaine's story has had MANY biblical references. Furina........ is Jesus.... like... she walks on water, gets tempted by Satan to spill the beans (the traveler), and a part of her dies for the sins of her people. Now I'm not a Christian by any means, but I still dig the way they executed everything. It's not an original story, but the execution is SO on point. Friggin amazing.
I wouldn't say that the Traveler tempting her was similar to when Satan tempted Christ in the desert; it has much more similarities to the Garden of Gethsamane. The trial was her Via Dolorosa, or more generally her Passion. The very fact that Hoyo was able to portray God bereft from God in any form is very impressive. There's even a few signs of Trinitarian doctrine as well (Focalors is closest to the Father, Furina the Son (especially during his life), and I would say that the Oratrice is the Holy Spirit. There's obvious differences (Christ was always more than a human, while the pathos of Furina hinges on the fact that she's 'just' a human.) You even have a bird descending on Furina at the end, similar to the Baptism of Christ.
I've watched dozens of reactions to the final cutscene at this point, and still the musical transition at 11:10 and Furina stepping out to see she finally succeeded still gives me chills and makes me cry.
I never expected Genshin Impact to actually make me cry, what got me was Focalors saying "Thank you, Furina for all you've done. From this moment on please live happily as a human. Just as I wished we could". Then Neuvilette's intense feelings being displayed in the weather

He's an unspoken hero and the true underdog of this entire quest. If he hadn't delayed the Narwhal for 45 abyssal days, not even Neuvillete would have had enough time to both defeat the Narwhal and save the people. If this doesn't stop the fanbase from hating on Childe then they truly don't deserve good things.

fontaine archon quests felt like a movie fr, all the stories in the other regions were good sure but i dont think anything ended quite this satisfying. the looming peril of fontainians dissolving and the lore of what exactly furina up to was by far the most immersed ive been. favorite region so far 💙

Dude Furina had such a good character arc, from being just a bratty narcissist to suffering 500 years to just to find out it was all for nothing and the prophecy was still going to happen. Looking back at all the stuff she did before makes it so much deeper, especially the arlechino stuff 😢

Ive wondered since the mention of fontaine being engulfed by the sea and people dissolving in water, how does that happen when fontaine is really high up geographically? I mean theres a big waterfall you need to climb up to get to fontaine in all of its borders

So many bible references like focalors or furina kinda reminds me of Jesus sacrifice and the wriothesly ship reminds me of Noah's ark and neuvillette is literally leviathan complete control over the sea or hydro element
This quest was so good. But the ending after the whale was kinda weak. Furina disappeared. She said the prophecy was wrong and we never knew if Neuvillette told her the truth or what happened with her. She should have been with him at the end to send us off. Maybe answer some question about our sibling, because Neuvillette doesn't know them, but maybe Furina does through her investigation run into the sibling.
Neuvillete sais on one of his lines at the end of the quest that he told her everything that happened with foscalors, furina (paraphrased) quote "was neither saddened nor comforted, she was just tired and wanted to rest". After 500 years of trauma you can hardly blame her for not wanting to hang around for a chat

Ive wondered since the mention of fontaine being engulfed by the sea and people dissolving in water, how does that happen when fontaine is really high up geographically? I mean theres a big waterfall you need to climb up to get to fontaine in all of its borders

This quest was so good. But the ending after the whale was kinda weak. Furina disappeared. She said the prophecy was wrong and we never knew if Neuvillette told her the truth or what happened with her. She should have been with him at the end to send us off. Maybe answer some question about our sibling, because Neuvillette doesn't know them, but maybe Furina does through her investigation run into the sibling.
Typical EN can't read.
Neuvillete sais on one of his lines at the end of the quest that he told her everything that happened with foscalors, furina (paraphrased) quote "was neither saddened nor comforted, she was just tired and wanted to rest". After 500 years of trauma you can hardly blame her for not wanting to hang around for a chat
Her sticking around would make zero sense whatsoever.
