To everyone who does this, every single router is different and if you’re not using a 3rd party router and you’re using the one directly from your internet service provider there may be no UPnP option as isp’s have a tendency to not include a lot of features in their routers
This definitely works but sometimes will only reflect after you restart your router and then your Xbox (in this order). And if you don't have UPNP available in your router you will need to setup something called "Port Forwarding" where you basically set the Xbox Live service door open. To finish, if you have more then one xbox you might get NAT Open in one and not in the other if both are on at the same time. If this happens you must manually change the port number in one of the consoles using that same Xbox Menu that Mick showed.
I factory reset my Xbox Series X and that was the only way I could get mine to work again. (Factory reset does have an option that keeps all your games and apps) Hope this helps for anyone who can't find a solution.
You know, some videos of yours I watch because you're entertaining. Some videos I let play just reading through the comments. But this one in particular solved my phones hotspot issue. My phone, for some reason, can get 60 ping, meanwhile the home internet gets 120.. I prefer using my phone a lot of the time... Yet for some reason I couldn't play minecraft over the phones wifi with my stepson. I'm not the smartest cookie in the bunch - but I decided to givherago. I'm embarrassed it was as simple as testing nat type. Anyways. You're a saint!
@JACK I did the good old fashion forget network, restart console, restart modem. After it was all restarted I reconnected. After reconnecting it said strict but then I did the "test nat type" by where you see connection and it changed it to open. I do not understand why it worked, but that is what worked for me.
Hey I got a problem with my Xbox Series X. It detects with double Nat but I can not fix it. I tried many times but it won't change the Nat type. I also use a TP Link Router. My PS5 does not have such problems.
Same problem here, my Xbox series x tells me that has a double Nat detected and is a moderate. I tried everything and nothing . If you guys find a solution please let me know
Those that are experiencing double nat, that is most likely you are using a Gateway (Modem ÷ Router combo) and you have a second external router wired into your Gateway. Unhooking your 2nd external router will remove the double NAT. But more than likely you are still facing strict to moderate NAT type. Which can cause issues for multi player gaming.
I've tried every solution available on the internet, nothing works. My nat keeps on strick. With luck and many restarts it switchs to open for a few hours, then back to strick. Only Xbox does that, I have no issues with PC, Switch or PS5.
Did you ever find a fix or did it ever fix itself through updates? I’m having the same issue, I’ve tried every possible fix I can find with no luck. I’m starting to think it’s an issue on Microsoft or my isp side.
When I do the “test NAT type” it always fixes it but what I want to know is how do I keep it on open all the time like when I go to sleep I turn off my console next morning I wake up it goes back to moderate.
Good for you it's been 3days and no matter what I do nat type is still strict lol all you have to do is test nat type and you'll have nat type open so consider yourself lucky
Need help guys. I cannot get my Xbox one to connect to the internet. I’ve tried changing the dns, Nat, ip address and it’s still the same. I’ve tried rebooting it. Still the same. Help
I have yet to try this method, I fixed mine by disconnecting Ethernet, wireless showed double nat also, testing connection then opened it (wasn't working on wired, usually does), once that worked on wireless, i plugged Ethernet back in, double nat detected, did the test network again and it worked. However, I wanted to comment, as an aussie, who in the lords name says bobs your AUNTY, not uncle? Hahah
Hey Tinker man, my Series S has a double Nat type. An I've tried a lot to fix it, my provider insist it ain't on there end and I'm starting to believe my console is just bugged. I don't get a my full 100mbps only get around 40, an I can't join certain games. Oh i also dont have two Modems, just 1 TP link one.
I’m guessing there’s no cure for stabilizing the speed of down loading on a console? Sometimes I’ll be over 500 Mb per second, then it will drop down to 70 or 80 Mbps. And it’s connected directly to router!
@@jordandelacruz7865 there was a reply from someone who told me they only got about 25 Mb per second. So I said I withdraw my complaint. But it looks like they took their reply off.

I don’t have access to my router

Real helpfull mate I didn't even have a dns server for some reason🤙
Also...you need to go to privacy and have location share selected to on. Otherwise it will always stay as a moderate NAT type.

My Xbox Series X giving a moderate and double nat , how can I fix this .
