Thank you for testing this one out - looks awesome! I am definitely very interested in this one. Only thing (I think is missing) are those two vertical cylindrical pockets on the center back like larger previous bridgers. I wish this had those (I need to carry 4 large waters - I’m the family Sherpa). Waiting to also see the new coulees- hoping you can do an in-depth review on those too!
I do like those pockets as well 👌 I feel you on the Sherpa duty too! Currently taking our 4 nieces hiking. 😆. Reid Pittman, our PNW writer, is working on that new Coulee review. Stay tuned!
Ohh that sounds fun! I bet you could make that work. We had a writer use the Bridger 55 and he does some major distances. Here is his review. ruclips.net/video/72nRjgn0C-k/видео.html
Great video and review @engearment Do you think the Bridger 35 would make a good camera day hiking pack? Could you use the side sip function to swing the bag around and pull a camera out without having to put the bag down? Thanks!
I think the only other brand doing that style harness is Six Moons Designs. They're definitely at the more "hybrid minimalist" end of things vs the bomb-proof but heavy approach that Mystery Ranch takes. So very different styles of pack and functionality, but a lot of people are hoping for more of that from other brands.
I love Six Moon Designs! Very well made gear! I think it’s nice to see them and mystery ranch play off each other and develop better tech. In then end, us hikers win. I truly love this pack and how is carries. We have sone others from outdoor vitals that might interest you too! Stay tuned. 😊🙌.
@@Engearment Nice! And yeah, exactly. Definitely a place for a lot of these different styles of gear. There's some people who kinda trash one approach or the other, but it's been nice finding a lot of people who talk pros and cons and looking at how to keep weight down without a fixation on ultralight. I like the flexibility of what Mystery Ranch does and hope to tryout their stuff sometime. Using a Deuter Trail Pro 36 for dayhiking right now and it's great, but could have more flexibility built in.
@@Jarrych83 Glad that resonates with you! Different packs for different styles. But all work well in certain uses. Like today, I am going to use a basic EXPED 25l pack for a little lake hike with my wife and dog. But later this weekend we are using another Mystery Ranch pack (Coolee!) that is more in line with heavier loads. Happy trails my friend!
Can the Bridger 35 work as a carry-on? Most US airlines limit to 22", but on paper the Bridger is 24" height. With the bag underpacked can it compress shorter?
@@videogazer801 do you own a Bridger 35 to measure? I looked at Mystery Ranch Coulee 30 at my local REI. It was able to compress down to about 18" height even though the spec list 22.5"
Good question. I will weigh it once I get back to a scale (currently in the Ten Mile range) I would venture to say it’s not light. Given the extra materials used in the adjustable suspension and vest style. But man, it handles weight with grace!
I can't for the life of me find this on their website or find any other documentation of it. This is exactly the pack I was looking for but I can't figure out how to get MR to take my money!

Fantastically explained and reviewed bud.👌👌
Thank you so much!! 🙌🙌. Really appreciate the stoke 😊
And what other packs do you recommend for one full day to ultra light overnight for backpacking a couple thousand feet
Sean, any idea what date this will come out? Weighing up some options right now and don’t want to miss this!
Hey J Y! These should be out in the next few weeks. Such a great pack!
I snagged a medium on Amazon for less than $200. I hope it fits well because I REALLY don't want to return it 😂
Do you think this would make a good fastpacking pack? I'm looking for something for an overnight 40mi hike/trail run and this looks so awesome!

Thanks! I I could see it being good for that. The way it carries is better than any camera bag that I have tested too. Let us know how that goes!
Is the waist belt removable?
Yep! At least on the one we are testing.

No, it’s just a little to large for that

Sean, could this also be used as an impromptu weight vest for weighted bodyweight?
;-)
You know, that could work! 😎😆
I want one just so I can ”filet it.” Nice review 10/10
😎😆. Thanks for the fun note!

Is the pack fine for doing a couple thousand feet, is it comfortable after hours on end?
like where it is very steep rock faces
It’s not

It comes out in a few weeks. Fall 2022 lineup. It is SO GOOD!! Hope you enjoy yours when you get it!
@@Engearment can't wait!
Did Mystery Ranch tell you it was coming out in the fall? I called them and said Spring 2023 release.
Is it durable enough?
It has been for my use hiking. I don't treat it very nicely, either. It is often just banging around in the back of my truck.
He FINALLY takes the pack off at the 4 minutes mark
Glad that made you happy
What would the ideal layout for a review look like to you?
