"break a leg at the upcoming Olympics" got me hahaha
I believe we called it the information super highway back in those times. 😆
might be a highway but it's got a shitpile of potholes.
in the uk
FUN FACT: Ayden Mayeri, The woman anchor in this clip, born in 1990, was only 4 years old when this episode was aired, making her the biggest 4 year old in the entire world.
It's a miracle!
Lmao
I got suspicious this was fake with that opening, but the Tonya Harding “break a leg” sealed it as a compete fake. No one in 1994 acted this way, yes people spoke of the newness of the mysterious web/internet, but they also had a genuine amazement/marvel at what connected computers could do. These guys seem bored with the new web/internet, they act like people born in the 90s that are acting up a part but without the nuanced detail of the real 90s.
It's obvious from the logo graphic already
Why the fuck are you analysing this shit? NO fucking shit it's fake, that's not the point.
Actually, this is a spoof of a Today Show segment from 1994. They didn't get the Internet either, and seemed to find it strange. Not everybody was amazed at what connected computers could do back then. In fact, quite a few people thought the Internet was just a passing fad.

This was a spoof on the today show moment when Katie courier and her cohosts were asking their producing what the internet was … their dialog is almost world for word …. So make sure you know what you’re talking about before you go on a rant next time
"Where is the Internet?"
"I'll have to ask the Elders of the Internet..."
Reminds me of how they talk about the metaverse now.
Only people wanted the internet. NO ONE wants the internet.
Can’t believe this was 28 years ago since I was in the 5th grade. Lot of good memories! It was a much better simpler time.
umm about that...
I'm interested in learning more about this... "internet" thing
It's a fad. Nothing became of it.
annnnd this should go viral in 3.. 2...
hahaaa "you don't get any emails" 1:01
Nostalgia-turned-Eric Andre is now my new favorite genre
This has a Kentucky Fried Movie Feel with a Little Amazon Women on the Moon vibe , very Funny
Imagine this same show 27 years later that would possibly ask ".....What is Metaverse??"
I still like the look, feel and compactness of the flip phone!!
Valley Girl accents wasn't quite the rage in '94.
Everyone, goto the website for this show lol.
i didn't realize this was a joke at first, but the thing that actually tipped me off was the actors' vocal fry 🙄😒 then i was like, no way could this be '94, no one talked like that ... I’m curious which detail clued you guys in, but isn't it crazy how much one tiny linguistic detail can prove that the timeframe MUST be post-2001 or thereabouts ?
YES.
Right away it was too HD. And then that first close up shot around 15 seconds was unrealistic, more like something a movie would do, not a live news talk show
I knew it was fake at the mention of Tonya Harding. Some of these things are a little too on the nose. :P
They just put in a Modern tone in the way they were talking that after a couple sentences I knew it was bogus. They weren't able to tap into the roles that well in this.
The Tonya Harding joke and then just the way they talked immediately after that.
This went exactly where I expected it to
Davey! Genius bit!
Simpler times.
its a skit
@@profbfc still true
lmao this is faked but pretty accurate
no shit
@@Goblet31 lol only said that bc of how identical the real tape isn
Can't see that internet thing catching on.
The internet will eventually become self aware.
This may he satire but right underneath it was an actual on air video of Bryant Gumble and Katie Couric doing basically the same bit.
Man this is genius!
Yes!
Lol, good ad.
this is a really well done bit. Suprised this video isn't more popular.
Neil gets it as opposed to Alison.
Neil's mic doesn't even have a mic XD
The emergence of new technology will always take people by surprise! My
bible teacher, Wayne, was born in 1931, and he told me that he thanks
God that he never got hypnotized by the growth of television which
started in the 1930s and exploded in the 1940s - 1950s... and video
games... and the Internet... and smart phones, ipods, ipads,... and chat
rooms and social media.... Wayne saw the emergence of so much
technology in his lifetime! He told me that he father, who was born in
the late 19th century, saw even more change in his lifetime because he
had been born into a world where horses and wagons were still the major
mode of daily transportation. By the 1920s, automobiles replaced horses
and wagons, and airplanes were already dangerous weapons of warfare.
Before his father had died, Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon!
Bible Teacher??!! This isn't the 19th Century dude! Hahaha. Nice troll, you almost had me there. As if "Bible Teacher" is even a thing nowadays!
@@MrPancakeRepairman troll means: "a person who makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online post." I was not trolling Deaf Cassette. I was just sharing what my bible teacher, Wayne, born in 1931, told me about himself and his father, who was born in 1890. My perspective of the world is brief because I was born in the late 1960s. By the time I was born, MOST AMERICANS ALREADY had toilets, hot/cold water indoor plumbing, tvs, electric powered stoves, etc! When my bible teacher, Wayne, grew up during the Depression, there were still quite a number of Americans who still used OUT HOUSES, their parents' OLD 19th Century huge, iron stove, their parent's old 1920s Ford vehicle, and did not have the usual things we all take for granted now, like: indoor hot-cold water plumbing, electric stove and oven, refrigerator etc. Hope you and your family enjoy the Holiday Season.
that guy looks like Jimmy Fallon
hilarious lol
If you're going to make a fake 90's clip, at least use period specific quality.
Isn’t the Internet the web mesh inside your swimming trunks?
I cannot believe you went through such trouble to create something less than mediocre.
This is a piece of history!
If it were real but there is ones that are
This is literally a parody of a segment from The Today Show in 1994.
Edit: ruclips.net/video/UlJku_CSyNg/видео.html
That was hilarious....
It's clearly fake...
Internet coming to take the anchor job.
The clue that gives away this is not real despite the filter they applied over this clip... real stuff from 1994 would not have looked this clean after all this time unless they went out of their way to digitally upscale it, and that's not worth it for such a short clip that won't be sold to make a bunch of money
Somtimes things are a little too positive.
Took me a while to realize that it was fake
Post the real clip: katie couric on the Today Show
Katie couric
Bush called it "a series of tubes"...
This is a good fake lol
this doesn't look like a genuine 1994 clip. looks like something Mega64 would make.
LOL
Funny spoof
Это очень забавно на самом деле.
Now people are explaining crypto like this. Cycle has returned.
Very silly. Pretending to be an old clip.
The girls legs are hot man in the 90's..!
Don't look up
wtf is this thing
It's interweb, not Internet LOL
Is this an SNL skit wannabe?
Wannabe? A duck ad if funnier than SNL..
So not real
Poor fake.
This isn't even a good fake at any point in the video.😒
Guys this isn't fake. I think you mean that it's staged or that it's a skit but this is obviously not fake as we can see it.
This is poorly made and the actors in this are acting WAY to modern compared to how people really were back in that time. Good try though, got me to click on the video
Is this a SNL sketch or something, not funny
fake
Fake
LOL
