Very nice day out, but again you have taken the wrong car to see a Spitfire. :-)

Yeah, the TR6 was a stand in for the Spitfire, as the Spitfire's clutch failed at the weekend. They'll be no RUclips video on this as I'm having to do it around doing other jobs 👍

Hi Steve . First of all although l couldn't make it , l see Phil and yourself spent all weekend working very hard at the Practical Classics Show supporting the TR Register . Thankyou ! Yes ! I would love to visit the Shuttleworth Collection , so historic , and as you say , all airworthy ! The Spitfire Vc was nicknamed the "clipped , cropped and clapped"by the pilots as it was really past it's best and the wings were clipped for more maneuverability at low level , the superchargers were cropped to improve low level performance and the clapped because they really were war weary aircraft . Could l ask a favour ? My late brother had a Mimosa TR6 new in 1973 . He had a private plate on it ( 4 GDV) and when he sold it he kept the plate . I 'm pretty certain the car is still alive and about 18 months ago asked Derek Graham if it was. He confirmed that it was but had very recently changed hands and had gone to another TR Register owner . Could you ask the owner of that Mimosa car if he has any history ? My brother was Norbert Davey . Thanks Steve .

Hi John, yes I can see what I can do. The yellow TR6 you see has been owned by my friend John for many years, but I'm sure he'll let me know it's history. It was a Devon car, so there is a chance, and in all honestly is the finest TR6 I've ever driven, but that's down to John's natural gift of fixing and tuning cars 👍
