- WEATHERMAN JAMIE SIMPSON LOSES HIS TEMPER ON THE AIR! (EXTENDED VERSION!) “Thanks for Interrupting that show!”
As “The Bachelorette” episode passed the half way mark on Monday evening Dayton and much of Western Ohio began to experience severe storms! As the storms began producing dangerous weather, Jamie Simpson (Fox45 Weatherman) did “his JOB” and (thankfully) cut live into programming! As was shared on social media, this did not sit well with fans of The Bachelorette, who began commenting things like, “Jamie you ruining our night!” And even, “Jamie has ruined The Bachelorette!” This “extended” video shows the buildup and Jamie proudly sticking to the reason that he was Live on the air! To save lives, which he did! As many didn’t know at the time, not even Jamie, these storms would produce a widespread Tornado outbreak, with over a dozen Tornados in Ohio alone! These Deadly tornados claimed one victim and would have certainly taken many more had it not been for Jamie and the rest of the media cutting into television programming and going Live and sharing the alerts and even the locations of the Tornados! Hats off to Jamie for standing his grounding! I was likely one of those lives that were saved!!!

Dude went on to get a DUI after running a stop sign and hitting a tree, went on hiatus, got his job back. Yelled at folks about this tornado in Dayton ( which was warranted, I live I Dayton and we got hit hard that night) he got another DUI and has since disappeared
I probably would have done the samething. Lol!
He didn't have a meltdown, the Bachelorette viewers did. He stated facts and called out the fools who were complaining. Good job, the station should give him a raise.
You can find *ssholes in every comment section everywhere. Imagine every news presenter discussing with them? No, because it's stupid and unprofessional.
Saving lives is more important than a crappy reality show that needs cancelled
If you are worried about news breaks especially the weather interrupting your show then you need to move to Hulu or Netflix.
All shows like that need to be cancelled! LOL
Agreed
I agree People's Safety during a Tornado Outbreak is more important than some stupid reality show
I 100% agree that Severe Weather/Tornado coverage is more import than the Bachelorettes and any other reality tv series.
The weather's better than the bachelorette anyways why are people complaining LOL
HAHA, I agree with you TOTALLY! Hell, I would rather watch paint dry! LOL
I would rather watch life saving things then brain cell killing shit
Yeah I would definitely rather watch the weather than watch that torture
Jamie Simpson has been doing our weather for over a decade and he’s cool af fr
We live in Trotwood and I wasn’t watching the news that night but my phone started going crazy with warning signals and my husband said we had a tornado warning. I got up grabbed my cat and told my husband we need to get into the bathroom, now! 2 minutes later the wind roared right through our little rinky dink apartment and I knew it was a tornado. Craziest thing I ever went through so yeah, it was no joke and I’m glad he stood up to the idiots who couldn’t miss 1 little tv show.
As a Dayton (Riverside) resident, I agree, it was a scary night!
I grabbed up my Totino's pizza rolls and headed straight for the basement!
Glad you’re all okay!
Glad your fine I litterly freak over storms Like I would rather hear the weather then the Show
That’s why they invented DVR
14 Tornadoes struck Dayton and surrounding areas that night!! The Damage was insane ($2 billion) but the lives lost were 2, I believe. Many attribute the low death count to the strong warnings from Jamie Simpson!!
As a Dayton (Riverside) resident, I agree totally!
Yeah right Brian Davis from channel 2 WDTN was on top of the whole situation and handled it professionally and accurately unlike Jamie Simpson
@@RAPIDMEDIAGROUP no shit? I’m right by stebbins.
For all the crybabies that thought The Bachelorette was MORE important than having a weatherman interrupt local programming to give you life-saving updates, just be thankful you got a life to live to see another episode of The Bachelorette.
I miss seeing him, he knew the potential outcome of the storm, it just showed how much he cared...we all are human.
he was likely watching it all start over here in central Indiana I believe the cell that did end up in Dayton started its first tornado in Madison County IN, (pendleton) where it dropped a EF3 (without looking I believe it was EF3) did a lot of damage, then dropped another one in Henry County,IN on its track to Ohio.
Best tip to do for you over in Dayton is to watch what is going on in Indiana, it will give an Idea what you will see in a couple hours. like I watch cent/east Illinois to see what we may be facing.
@@Dratchev241 Good advice.I live in WV, and I have 2 sisters who live in London OH.I keep an eye on their weather, because we are usually about to get what they are getting.Granted, tornadoes are very rare here, but snow storms, strong thunderstorms, and such are quite common.
Jamie Simpson is a hero by standing up for what he believes in and saving lives by informing the general public about dangerous weather on the way! Mr. Simpson saved a lot of lives! He deserves a massive raise and is a great meteorologist!
He also got a dui a mile and a half from his house
It's ridiculous that he even had to say that. I could feel his frustration. Glad you guys were OK
This weather man deserves a medal
for crybaby of the year
@@JasonHenson1975 You’re an idiot. He saved people’s lives. Dayton had $2 bill in damage.
@@aarfan44 he sure is saving lives with all his DUI's charges for sure a life saver
I would rather watch the weather in an area I don't live in than "The Bachelorette."
Good point! :-)
No wonder he flipped out, one of those tornadoes was rated EF4!
There were over half a dozen major tornados that night! We are all taking cover. Check out our other video on here that we recorded as one of the F4's was hitting. It was insane.
This tornado passed directly over our house in Beavercreek (not kidding) - still watching homes being bulldozed and rebuilt over a year later,. Blessed with no fatalities
Still love this, over a year later. We got hit by the Darke/Miami county tornado, and without people like this gentleman, we never would have known to be aware.
And what difference would it have made if people weren't aware.
There is no indication he saved any laughs.
The whole point is once you have warned people, you don't need to say the same thing 30 times.
We,are, aware. Go back to the show.
I had people complaining Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals was being interrupted.... I told them at least youll be alive to see the rest of the series... ill gladly sacrifice a TV show if it means people are safe!
Same here, Rob. I was gladly interrupted from whatever I was watching that night.
I witnessed the same thing. I was like fine die or get hurt you selfish jerks
LOL who watch 90% of garbage on TV i get my weather information online i also have a smartphone as well as a NOAA WEATHER RADIO for an extra protection alert so if a warning is issued i will know about it. Infact most of the time i will get warning on the weather radio before i get it on TV or phone and even then if its for my county the TV tends to go out before the phone and the radio is always silent listening for warnings and is most reliable and does not need to go through channels to receive warnings has battery backup and will only go out if the actual transmitter is damaged or broken and needs repairing.
@@mario12359 you used two periods in your lame screed. Try harder! C-
I would not call this a "meltdown" more like righteous rage...
Touché
Chaotic good 😂
Now I'm proud to be from Dayton. Get em Jamie!!!
He saved lives that night. Not only from tornadoes...but also from reality TV shows. :-)
LMFAO
Jamie Simpson is a good meteorologist
And an even better drunk driver.
@@jeffryan6152 if he was an even better drunk driver he wouldn’t have a dui. Still a good meteorologist

We need more weather men like this..... so what if a favorite tv show gets pre emptied for a weather alert.. he’s saving lives... you can catch the show anytime on demand or a fire stick.. grow up
Its scary that he was absolutely right. There was like 4 tornados that day and the damage was unbelievable. I went through Brookville after the tornados and it looked like a bomb went off it was so sad. Jamie SImpson for President.
What exactly did he change?
@@robkiser3593 There were actually 13 tornados in the viewing area and what he did was give information to people that saved their lives.
I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since this happened.
The crazy thing. Those “TORNADOES”. 15 to be exact. Damn there wiped out our entire city. So yea. People was trippin. Dayton still hasn’t recovered.
Just another obvious symptom of the selfish, "all-about-me" society we live in today.
That it is, Jerry! Sad stuff. I'm assuming (HOPING) that those who were "mad" at him recanted on their feelings after seeing the severity of the situation! But in some cases probably not! :-/ Thanks for watching!!!
Not just selfishness, but stupidity. "The Bachelorette" is just another part of the system big corporations use to keep Americans from acting like anything other than cattle.
I've never watched it but I assume it's similar all the other shows in that type of genre! Whats the "Race" show where they race around the world! LOL And even "Naked and AFRAID!" haha Sadly, television certainly isn't what it used to be! I don;t are if it's the best show on the planet though, if there's a tornado I would want the news to break through ANY tv show to tell me! :-) (And thankfully they - Jamie - did!)
Just like what people are saying now we have COVID. "It's my right as an American to put your life and the lives of your family at risk so I can do what I want". There is absolutely no concept of community responsibility
@@sawspitfire422 Stay home if you're scared, let rational people go about their lives.
No wonder he went back to the bottle. People care more about the bachelor then peoples lives who live in reality.
He was right about one thing: the weather report's more important than the dumb Bachellorette. He cares more about the viewers' safety than a show on tv.
I remember this night like it was yesterday. There was a tornado going through the town on our left, and the bigboy going through Dayton. It was insane.
Thank God this man stood his ground he help save alot of lives this happen in my home town and the amount of tornados that this storm produced was unbelievable even a few EF4 our town will never be the same 😔Thanks Jamie for your great work.
As a Dayton (Riverside) resident, I agree totally!
We have weatherman breaking in just to tell us there is no bad weather. Breaking in to tell us it is raining 1/2 inch per hour at a street address.
I agree with Jaimie on this I live here in dayton area it was a chaotic stressfull terrible time for some who lost everything
Me and my wife drove around looking at the devastation ...it was incredible and sad. People are ignorant and selfish at the least.
Some of those selfish people probably lost their homes.
That said Jaime has a drinking problem
Remember it like it was yesterday, all weather teams around here did great.
Such a scary night. I was in Mansfield that night and out of harms way but was very worried about the lower half of the state. Indeed Jamie stood his ground that night and because of that lives were saved. They were very fortunate to have him on duty that terrifying night. There is nothing I fear more than tornados. I have a insane neurotic fear of them.
As someone who lives in Dayton and feared for my life that night when we got hit with 14 tornados…. Yeah… Jaimie made the right call.
"I'm sick and tired of people not caring about other people's safety" then goes out and gets two DUIs...
😄😁😆😅🤣😂
His rant was the alcohol talking.
It's Because he's tired of you people😂 they drove him to drink🤷♀️
@@angieholguin244 he did that to himself ain't nobody forced him to drink and drive
Yup!! Saved us as well! We were able to find shelter in the hall closet just in time! Literally after watching this
I love JAMIE his so real.
I've wondered what he's doing now. I've lived in the area a long time. He was 100% correct in saying this!

As someone that lives in Dayton Ohio when i seen he act like that i was like damn you tell Jamie😂😂 but he is a pretty good one

Heroes dont drive drunk. Hes got multiple DUIs. For every person he saved, he put 5 in danger.
Eh more like thousands but hey one life saved is great enough...
i live in Dayton Ohio. they will break into tv and radio whenever it rains or snows. oh noes someone saw a cloud!!!. sometimes there is a real weather emergency, but they need to reread the boy who cried wolf. a dozen times.
Because a weather emergency is more important then a brain dead reality show...
A night I will not forget.

@@RAPIDMEDIAGROUP I'm in Camden but my sisters in Trotwood. She dodged the bullet but many of her neighbors did not. I was pretty worried about her when it went down.
"IM DONE WITH YOU PEOPLE" 👏🙌
I have never seen an episode of the Bachelorette and with any luck never will. If forced to choose, I would rather watch that weather guy sit on the toilet and fart for an hour than endure an hour of "reality" TV.
Good on you man! It's almost a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation with some folks.Point is, you did what was necessary while saving lives. These scripted "reality" shows can not only wait, they even aren't worth the wait to begin with. Bless.
Were still cleaning up from the 14 tornadoes that hit us that night...and people were worried about a fake tv show.
Lives are more important than some stupid Reality Show of some girl finding the right guy

Dayton owes it to Mr. Simpson. If not for his warnings, the death toll from that tornado would have been much higher.
If he'd put down the bottle, people in the area would be much safer too!
To me what’s even more creepy is MEN being upset because the Bachelor or Bachelorette show was interrupted....ewwww not the kind of man most women would want to be around.

I use to work master Control for this station. He no longer works there. He was let go a few weeks after this but not because of this. They did a lot of layoffs.
Layoffs? He got fired because of multiple DUIs. Dont try to church it up.

Good for you Jamie!
I applaud Jamie for his standing up to the producer and undoubtedly saved lives cause that series of tornados kicked the Gem City's ass and I just so happen to live in this same area of the Armpit of America (Dayton)

Good for you, Jamie!!
Damn straight. He saved lives that night. The ones that don’t care are idiots
So Jamie is an idiot too. Did he care about peoples safety at any point during his THREE DUIs?
As a representative of Dayton, Jamie Simpson was honest with the weather report, people don’t realize how genuine that is, and if you don’t have that in your city, and you prefer cute when it comes to a server storm situation, Genuine will safe your life, thank you Jamie, miss you on channel 7.

@@jameskincer9394 What?!?!?
People still watch that stupid show? I would be too embarrassed to actually admit that in public, if I did watch it. Lol
To the weatherman. First rule of the internet. Never feed the troll. Just saying.
I think Jamie Simpson deserves a Metal of Valor for saving alot of peoples lives that night, because Dayton dont have any tornado sirens to warn us period. Every person that got mad at him for cutting your show off, should apologize & be grateful that he saved your family's lives.
Flips out? Really? He should have really flipped out and told them how stupid that brain melting crap they were watching was destroying their minds. What a tornado?, What is that Marcy?, Oh I don't know, get the bachelor back in now or I'm going to complain. What's that loud rumbling crashing sound outside?, I don't know, but someone should have told us about it!!!!
I used to think "Can't they just say it in a crawl?
we can read!" But I realized there are blind listeners also.
That’s why you never do the weather while you are on social media
It REALLY shows just how fucked up people's priorities are here in america when they flip out over a fake reality show being preempted by a warning of impending DEATH!
One station’s meteorologist went off for a good reason, one at another starts to break down on air as a tornado goes over.

dude went from being on the precipice of losing his job (probably) to broadcast meteorology immortality within the span of three hours
I'm sure people moaned and complained about their show being interrupted, but what those people don't understand, is if they don't interrupt programming like that, hundreds, maybe even thousands of people could die. I'm sure those same people, don't want to lose their life because of a tornado. I commend Mr. Simpson for sticking to his guns and doing his job. As for the people who moaned and complained, just remember, you're alive now because of him interrupting the program you wanted to watch, there is a such thing as a re-run you know.
anyone complaining about severe weather coverage doesn't deserve to live
