Thanks for a great tutorial. Any ideas how to make this work with autocue? The green led ring light would make it impossible for the presenter to read the autocue… or do I make a larger ring light around the outside of the autocue… or maybe four green led lights further away from the lens. Any ideas or suggestions?

It's sad what RUclips did to the sub count :(

Yeah, I found that out in the middle of building this thing... At least the total views are still updating normally... But I'll try to put more stuff in my version to keep it interesting. Thanks for watching and hope to see you in the next one!

Yeah, it's annoyed everyone who built their own counter.
Brian Lough (who wrote one of the libraries that Yvan is using) did a funny video about it a couple of months ago.

I think every type of display has been done to death with this type of project except one - the old type of flip over display you used to see on clocks or alarm clocks before led or lcd displays took over , just making this type of display could be a series of videos on its own , all controlled by small stepper motors and/ or solenoids or actuators . I would love to see a display made out of a model of Robbie the robot ( look at a movie called Forbidden planet to see Robbie ) using some voice recording and nixie tubes mounted in Robbies chest but that would be a lot of work for a simple thing like a subscriber display ! Another option would be to do something similar to a transformers toy - maybe optimus prime ?

I agree, there's been a lot of those made in the past. The old flip over type you're referring too is available from a company here: www.flapit.com but at above 640$ and with minimum orders of 100+ units, well that's not an option for most. The Nixie tubes are kinda in the same arena, hard to find and expensive... I'll try to put something interesting in mine, but in the end it's just a display that I'll put in my workshop :) Btw the Flip type would be a very cool project, so I'll keep it in mind for the future, if I can figure out a way to make it :) Thanks for watching!

Dropping a dislike only to show that all these "Part 1" "Part 2" etc is a bad way to go.. Still love your content but if you have lack of content it's better to upload rarely than often but with many parts. Keep projects to one video per project. Most people have a lot of people we subscribe to, none of us notices if you upload rarely but but with parts videos you leave us "hanging" . If every creator did like you my feed would just be filled with parts videos and that would just be horrible to start watching. Please please please don't be like alex steele....

Look, I get what you're saying... But, if I make all my videos in one part, then the videos are way too long, and let's face it, most viewers can't even get through a 3 minute video... That being said, don't worry, this is not gonna be the case for all my videos, but it may happen from time to time if a project is way too long to explain in just one video. Thanks for watching and hope to see you in the next one. Cheers!
