"This has the IQ Tour core....ummm and....its red." Haha GREAT REVIEW!!! Seriously, tho - This ball looks like a cleaner version of the Pitch Black and I might get one for a spare ball and whip it out for those burnt up house shots. Also, Beef Stew is a machine!
Great review! Yeah, this IQ may actually be even more useful for the Pros than the softer urethane's. I can see Belmo standing right and rifling this thing all day at the pocket.
I’ve had to polish my proton PhisX, infinite PhisX, reality, and others to bowl at this HSE, where I live. So this is going to be a ball I can use for all 3 games if needed to be. This ball will be a good 10 pin ball keeping the hand out of it or flat hand at 10. Probably going with 4.5x4.5x2 for me. Still can get to pocket and pick 10 up. Nice video Beef outstanding
I've been begging for harder, more varied urethane options for a few years. I always thought Hammer would do it, due to the popularity of the PH and the history of the urethane colored Hammer line. Instead companies kept trying to make strong, PBA minded urethanes... which aren't useful on most THS. What's the point of a urethane that 90% of the customer base can't use? This new !Q78 is a huge step in the right direction. Can't wait to see what SPI does with this cover moving forward. Would love to see other cores in it, and a pearl cover option at some point. A lot of possibilities to really expand their urethane offerings to actual league bowlers, and not just pros and tournament amateur's.
Appreciate the review Stu. My all time favorite urethane ball, that I still have, is the Natural Pearl. Wish I had bought a case of them. Love that ball.
@@BeefandBarnzy It was an incredible ball. Allowed me to play and stay in parts of the lane that few others could as a stroker style bowler who could reasonably control the rotation.
@wbrouilette I know most people will turn their nose up at the brand, but if you want a weaker urethane that is very close the Natural/Natural Pearl, give the Pyramid Pathogen Plague a try... the black solid, not the gold pearl. It's a weaker cover like the Natural, and has the same general core numbers. 2.54/0.032 vs 2.55/0.038 Not nearly as strong as modern urethane, but let's you play outside all day long. I'm a high rev mid speed 2H lefty, and put a 4x25 layout on mine... such a great ball.
A little bit of change though for bowlers who threw urethane on short patterns like Viper or Cheetah I don’t I like throwing it hard and straight far out as possible what ever ball is legal to throw it’s not always about the ball you always want to make sure you’re throwing it well before ball changes
Wow Beef that is a great video. I have pitch black and purple hammer. Pitch black I have @ 4x4x2, I have a friend the purple hammer bc he didn’t have a urethane. Excuse to buy another ball (lol) okay I bowl at 2 house 3 leagues, one house is definitely a dry being 10 is dry on both side @ 60 @ 20mils ? Crazy huh? I was told from a good bowler there they keep it like this so bowlers have good games. I don’t like it but I bowl there because it’s a league HSE, Instead of a recreational house of 10 lanes. It’s around a big collage town so houses are not easy to find here for exceptional oil, patterns, or exceptional league. So thank you for the great video because this is the ball that I’ll be able to use at that house and have all I need with this ball.. thank you
So if this ball was trash, what ball would you use on this pattern?? Is there a resin ball that would look as good?? Really confused as to why there's still so much hate for urethane.
As a lower rev rate player on the Pba tour, I feel like urethane accelerates the transition at the start. This means that it gets to the higher revs rates comfort zone much quicker. In relation to what I would use on this. The magic gem looked fine and basically as good, all be it from a different angle
Hello Stu, I am in a Sport pattern league and we bowl viper this quarter and I know centers are different but while you were Bowling the viper, and the ball starts losing the backend and leave in 10 pins do you change your hand position your feet or get out of that ball? Thanks
I know this is not about ether of these balls. i have $150 to buy one ball for a friend they really want ether Hy-Road pearl or the Hustle USA which one is the better buy?
Hustle USA is probably more versatile, but depending on style the hyroad pearl is hard to beat for lower rev rate players wanting to see hook down lane. It always depends!!
Well, the PBA changed the rules, and urethane has been a large part of the PBA for the last 5-10 years. I think it is fair to say, this change in the rules will change the game somewhat. this is the first offering from storm at 78 hardness, Hence the title
Thanks for the plug bro! Always appreciate you!
Any time!

The Hammer NU is really good. This is probably Storm's response to that ball. I think this will work great hand-in-hand with the NU.
I have to say the IQ Tour 78/U is a little smoother than the Pitch Black despite the 78 hardness
Ball looks great. I bet your normal pitch black layout being a touch stronger would be even better!
Appreciate the review Stu. My all time favorite urethane ball, that I still have, is the Natural Pearl. Wish I had bought a case of them. Love that ball.
Jesper like that one a lot also

Hey Stu, Great Review! You and Barnzy are the best!!!!
Really enjoyed this review and the content here. Thanks for putting it all together
Thanks, Stu!🤙🏿🤙🏿
A ball I wouldn't purchase because I bowl on house, but great info Stu!

Stu you are a great bowler, you should be able to throw a stone down the lane and strike
I try to!

This video definitely gives off "1988 short oil pattern" vibes.

Either change balls or move a little left and rotate it more.

Do you like Strong or Weak Layout On Urethane Bowling Balls?
Stronger. Pitch black I usually used around 4” pin. This iq78 I used 4.5” pin
@@BeefandBarnzy Awesome! I Always Wanted to put a Short Pin Layout On A Urethane Ball🤔
The new Storm IQ 78U, Disappointingly Good. 😊
The specific color of the 78 is crimson. So it's literally a bloody bowling ball.
Never seen a ball review where the guy was mad the ball was good lol
hahaha all you throw is strikes!
1000 videos on how THIS ball is going to change???? until the next ball next week.

@@BeefandBarnzy it says the ball is going to change the PBA not the hardness rule. every new is said to change the game. gets old just to sell a ball.
