My 6 year old daughter has it. Its awful. The food is disgusting, the options are less than limiting. I hope in her lifetime there’s a cure.

How about offering help to pay for food to support the health of Celiacs like they do in Europe??? It's costing me up to 40% more to eat than the averagee American!

If there was a treatment that allowed me to eat out and not worry about cross contamination i would be happy. Just the endless worry and seeing crumbs everywhere drives me crazy. Not to mention the eateries that refuse to serve you with Coeliac 😢

I am glad the researcher is also a sufferer... I am sorry she has it but happy she knows it first hand

Oats are definitely an issue even so called gluten free oats. My celiac journey took 20 years and an unnecessary cholesistectomy before being diagnosed. The gluten allergy quickly became dairy and brassica intolerant. I cook from scratch and manage to find plenty of heathy alternatives. Too many gluten free bought products are serious junk food. I would say that apart from 2 small loaves a week and vegan cheese, my diet is not significantly more expensive. A recent 5 week stay in hospital was difficult as even the qualified staff ignored my dietary needs, seemingly no worries for them as I wasn’t an epipen holder. I have had to navigate myself through this disease with very little useful help from the medical profession. A gastroenterologist with an interest would be useful.UK resident by the way

So how did you get the hospital to give you your dietary needs? Can they just ignore a disease if they want to?

@@boycott2720 with difficulty. I had to rely on my husband who doesn’t cook to bring in food.

Is someone has gluten intolerance but no other symptoms than anemia, I am confuse because some people relates to medical line says you can eat gluten while you have no diarrhea, bloating etc. Please let me know if anyone's has same symptom.

All the celiac disease foundation wants to do is talk about symptoms. We’re all aware the symptoms. They have nothing to say but repeat information for the last 10 years . These meetings are usually worthless. I quit watching them.

Because nothing has changed in the last 10 years. Cant update info without updates. 🤷‍♂️

    GMO wheat isn't helping anyone.

I don’t believe that is an issue, BUT dessication of crops with glyphosate could be. That means spraying the crop to kill the plants to make it ripen evenly for harvesting. The other thing is enzyme acceleration used by the baking industry to speed up the dough rise.

EVERYTHING you eat is GMO. Every single thing.

How about the lack of nutrients in our soil due to monocropping? We need at least 87 minerals and vitamins to sustain health. How does adding only nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus help us ingest what we need in our food to be healthy. Perhaps those who make the guidelines should have to eat the food void of nutrition that we do!

@@boycott2720not always a bad thing. When varieties of fruits and vegetables become diseased GM can make disease resistant crops. But if you are super worried, just grow your own 👍
