pretty sure you mixed fiery downs upgrade with wounded clerids, it doesn't give burn count just increases potency per hit by 4 and doubles potency at 20 by x2.5

Really good video! I never realized just how many EGO gifts benefit from specific sin types. I will say, while the team seems interesting, Shi's always annoyed me in MD. The fact that you have to avoid any kind of healing EGO gift and healing at shops/rest stops lest they go above the HP threshold means you have a very thin safety net if you get unlucky clashes or are forced to take elite nodes. Not to mention the inherent risk of needing to be at low HP at all times, especially with Heathcliff continually draining his HP with his s3. I'll look into trying it out because it seems fun, but Shi also has some unique anti-synergies with MD that suck.
the shi association worked in ruina for 2 reasons: 1) stagger not being tied to hp, as you mentioned. 2) they had a lot more max hp than normal pages but started with part of hp missing. Yujin page starter with only 25%(or was it 50? she definitely started with most hp missing), removing all of the low hp setup. i think what could fit well for limbus is a single stagger bar at like 40-20% but with hp lower than squishiest of ids we have. that way they could go below 50% without wasting a turn on stagger, but also being in compromised position where taking damage would certainly mean shi
itd be really cool if they made a Shi ID who acted as a “support” in the same wya BL meursault does, like by decreasing the stagger thresholds of shi allies

I felt like with this and the previous videos, there was something really interesting to consider for team building but they were framed under this weird assumption that the best IDs to use for the strategy. A video covering haste rewards and enablers for the previous one, then dropping in G Outis as a solid candidate would have been cool, this video could have covered how so many IDs have the Wrath, Lust, Envy combination and contemplated teams that use that well. (Who needs Shi Ryoshu when we have Chef Ryoshu the honorary Shi member) Hell even taking a simple concept like "Bodysack + Rapid Suppression is the best thing to do in the game, how do we min max that" and made a video around R Heath and a team that supplies Wrath (for his passive) and Lust/Envy for Bodysack I feel could have been another way to showcase the EGO fueling and resonance EGO gift portion of this video (which I think was a very cool way to look at teams) with more relevance to more team comps. It's kind of weird, I think you cover some really interesting parts of the game and I kind of wish you didn't get too deep into the humor/clickbaity side that much so the discussion can be about the interesting parts instead of haha memes. That's just my take on it. The game is simple at the surface but has a lot of weird nuance that content makers never cover so seeing even splashes of that stuff get's me typing. 6:35 it should also be mentioned that the keypages in LoR had higher Max HP for their level but started with less HP (the purple pages start with less 25% and the golden page with less than 75% meaning it can hit the health thresholds from the start as long as you don't heal up).
Shi in library of ruina got to be way more effective since they had a whole special passive that let them start at low hp, removing the long startup they need in Limbus company
So after alot of thought I consider shi don quixote and ishmael a decent early game investment for new players. Especially if you come in later and later while needing useful EGO’s. Definitely not shi heathcliff though since LCB Heathcliff absolutely SLAPS. Great video keep up the voiced content!
I think that, to be fair, just switch off Hong Lu for, like, any poise id and get yourself a poise fusion. They get a lot of value from it. Also, healing ego gifts are detrimental to them. I like them. And I believe we will get some new Shi ids this season. At long last.
@@halften5818 Maybe, Maybe. That'd be good for don since she relies on RNG for enemies to target her. But we still have the issue of them getting staggered and probably dying. Like even just having a passive that makes the stagger threshold lower would be good.

I think Hong Lu could be replaced on the team, with another poise ID. it may not work for resonance, however, that allows the shi to actually use poise, ans gain the poise fusion gift (which makes heathcliffs s3 even better.)
There should be a community note or a post-it because of the EGO gift "Resolution" since that ego gift ((which you get at the start)) erases the issue about lowering the HP threshold at the start.
tbh shi don at 49% is insane because you get a id that has a evade and a 30 rolling skill, also now has electric scream, which when corroded makes her lose health, but whatever, now there's the resolution ego gift

There is a specific EGO gift for the shi that caps them at 50% hp. it works pretty good and you can grab it from the get go at the start of it, thena gain this is after the mirror dungeon reword.
yuujin's birthday is in june, and we should be getting some 6,5 events around that time, so we *might* get some story event about what has she been up to. Shi association was nearly annihilated in events of LoR, with their S1 being killed off by Blue Reverb, so there would be a lot of restructuring and recruiting to rebuild it. One problem is, of course, we would want that Yuujin ID, but, being a grade 1 fixer, and i think potential color?, even Tenma being grade 3 iirc, while most of our fixer IDs are grade 5 at highest (Olga in Ruina), but it doesn't have to be her section 1, even like section 3 (Oufie Heathcliff is s3) , and there is no reason to continue the low hp mechanics (which is why i think we didn't get any yet, they would want to give them something new, and introduce it with a story event, that explains that). Of course, this is all speculation and copium on my part.
I think a way to make shi id's is to give them only 1 stager threshold nearly the max hp, but removing the possibility to give them stagger+ by erasing all other stagger bars, then they can make moves that require part of their hp, and make a support between them that cures characters below 25% hp
Just beaten canto VI with basically identicall team- just swapped hong lu for cinq outis for extra utility, having ton of fun with them while waiting for boundary of memes to arrive, gonna try my first mirror dungeon run with them now
The fun in the video is trying to get these silly identities to function, and hey if we need Liu Hong Lu for that imma use Liu Hong Lu lol (also soupclair was mentioned as a joke, this team can't even fuel it lmao)
season 6 bp correction- donqui has electric screaming now, which spends her HP when she's at less than 20 charge count! it needs pride though, so you'd be relying on getting coffee and cranes or grand welcome
they could make where all shi have special stagger where they can still act but still take the 2x damage (and this can be easily done with Combat Start: on passives)
So one thingy I thought of while watching the video. I know the strategy was a bit jokey but wouldn’t the strategy intentionally lowering your health work by forcibly corroding yourself at the end of the fight. One other thingy is that Im pretty sure that the My Form Empties Ego for Heathcliff was actually designed for Shi Heathcliff as a way of helping you deal with being staggered while also increasing your max HP giving you a larger margin to be at a higher power. The other way to drain your hp without staggering that I can think of is through debuffs like bleed that will go through the threshold. Not ideal for heathcliff staggering himself but for Shishmael it does seem a viably safe way to build it up in a mirror dungeon

Theorycrafting brainrot consumes the guy once again. Most resonance based ego-gifts do not apply sufficient count if applying it at all, meaning that if one were to trigger them every round (won't happen in this team) they won't do much. At best A.resonance can provide 2 clash power (won't happen in this team), which does not make up for the subpar rolls (
i had Shi Ishmael (and she was the only Ishmael ID i had by the time canto 5 came out) and i absolutely abused her in the story mode fights. The plot immortality is so good
I feel some kind of ESGOO curse comming... at least I hope for it because some section 3 shi would be incredible. (but personnally I thing we're not gonna see them back before canto 7 or 8 )
I think they’ll probably be treated in the same way the BL was. We might get an event with two 000s and a 00 that fix the association’s gimmick and form a complete team.
Question: Do we have any substitude for the not shi ID? As Nclair isnt something Everyone has, and liu hong lu seems kinda odd and drain way to Much gloom. In hindsight stew sinclair may ACTUALLY be good now. As it heals very little. Chef ryoshu may works but she may also heal too much? In hindsight she does bleed, which Base Ego don uses for heal. Something inportant to COUNTER stagger is BLEED, as geting bleed will NOT stagger the ID unless it get hit, so you can go UNDER the treshold, finish the fight and begin next fight below it. So it may work better for the NEXT dungeon. Especially if we get thise stupid 15 bleed butlers. And they Weak to slash. Finally, first aid kit and pain killer will be escencial for heathcliff, but can backfire. A good thing is that as we progress ID get more HP so heathcliff get stronger as he can spam more skill 3.

Im suprised the shi ID dont have skills that lower there health , aside from heathcliff of course, i always thought theyd make at least the skill 2 have an on use effect where they loose hp if above 50% health
This might add salt to the injury, but i actually use Shishmael in Bl (well, just 3 of them) team (yes, with Kimsault right next to her). Can't say she works great, but it's the same reason as to why i UT 4 her and N corp Rodya - because they look cool.
To be fair if you want to make the Shi identities gimmick being that they are low Hp, just give them a skill that Reduce their HP by a LOT when over 50% HP and make it regen Hp when under 50% HP, ADD a Shi director that cancels the first stagger of SHi identities next turn and you're gucci
Why building around them when they are valuable as trio, there are very few fights that can give them actuall trouble that can't be solved with E.G.O's you mentioned. Throw them into Mirror Dungeon with healing gifts (which are optional with Chef Ryoshu and Chef Grego) and with 2+ skill slots they DO become pretty nuts especially in Focused Encounters where there is usually way less problems with action ecenomy. (Why yes i do play this team since release and have them U4 how did you know?)
If only they could make their effect activated at every certain threshold like every 25% or something instead, it could probably be of great help to these kind of ID (shi and Nsault)

Yeah the continous drain of Heathcliff's hp is a small issue, thats a big reason of why i included fluid sac as a option

Funny thing is when I’m doing my liu ish solo mirror dungeon hard, Ardor will stagger you before the clash if you go below the stagger bar

season 6 bp correction- donqui has electric screaming now, which spends her HP when she's at less than 20 charge count! it needs pride though, so you'd be relying on getting coffee and cranes or grand welcome
Despite they all 00 IDs, they're absurdly strong for the fact they hurt themselves to hit twice as hard
they could make where all shi have special stagger where they can still act but still take the 2x damage (and this can be easily done with Combat Start: on passives)
So one thingy I thought of while watching the video. I know the strategy was a bit jokey but wouldn’t the strategy intentionally lowering your health work by forcibly corroding yourself at the end of the fight. One other thingy is that Im pretty sure that the My Form Empties Ego for Heathcliff was actually designed for Shi Heathcliff as a way of helping you deal with being staggered while also increasing your max HP giving you a larger margin to be at a higher power. The other way to drain your hp without staggering that I can think of is through debuffs like bleed that will go through the threshold. Not ideal for heathcliff staggering himself but for Shishmael it does seem a viably safe way to build it up in a mirror dungeon

Theorycrafting brainrot consumes the guy once again.
Most resonance based ego-gifts do not apply sufficient count if applying it at all, meaning that if one were to trigger them every round (won't happen in this team) they won't do much.
At best A.resonance can provide 2 clash power (won't happen in this team), which does not make up for the subpar rolls (
i had Shi Ishmael (and she was the only Ishmael ID i had by the time canto 5 came out) and i absolutely abused her in the story mode fights. The plot immortality is so good
It hurts me alot that shi got forgotten cuz they were one of my favorite in library of ruina.

I think they’ll probably be treated in the same way the BL was. We might get an event with two 000s and a 00 that fix the association’s gimmick and form a complete team.

As Nclair isnt something Everyone has, and liu hong lu seems kinda odd and drain way to Much gloom.
In hindsight stew sinclair may ACTUALLY be good now. As it heals very little.
Chef ryoshu may works but she may also heal too much?
In hindsight she does bleed, which Base Ego don uses for heal.
Something inportant to COUNTER stagger is BLEED, as geting bleed will NOT stagger the ID unless it get hit, so you can go UNDER the treshold, finish the fight and begin next fight below it.
So it may work better for the NEXT dungeon.
Especially if we get thise stupid 15 bleed butlers.
And they Weak to slash.
Finally, first aid kit and pain killer will be escencial for heathcliff, but can backfire.
A good thing is that as we progress ID get more HP so heathcliff get stronger as he can spam more skill 3.
Considering the fact that every other ID is a 00, having Nclair as the only 000 is fine

Im suprised the shi ID dont have skills that lower there health , aside from heathcliff of course, i always thought theyd make at least the skill 2 have an on use effect where they loose hp if above 50% health
This might add salt to the injury, but i actually use Shishmael in Bl (well, just 3 of them) team (yes, with Kimsault right next to her).
Can't say she works great, but it's the same reason as to why i UT 4 her and N corp Rodya - because they look cool.
99% of limbus company players forget about Shi Ryoshu before she gets released on 4th April 2025 as the 4th Shi Id and the 4th 0000 id.
To be fair if you want to make the Shi identities gimmick being that they are low Hp, just give them a skill that Reduce their HP by a LOT when over 50% HP and make it regen Hp when under 50% HP, ADD a Shi director that cancels the first stagger of SHi identities next turn and you're gucci

Why building around them when they are valuable as trio, there are very few fights that can give them actuall trouble that can't be solved with E.G.O's you mentioned. Throw them into Mirror Dungeon with healing gifts (which are optional with Chef Ryoshu and Chef Grego) and with 2+ skill slots they DO become pretty nuts especially in Focused Encounters where there is usually way less problems with action ecenomy. (Why yes i do play this team since release and have them U4 how did you know?)
If only they could make their effect activated at every certain threshold like every 25% or something instead, it could probably be of great help to these kind of ID (shi and Nsault)
