3:50 That is the way it usually happens in real life. The free safety is considered to be closer to a cornerback and so plays center field a lot and the strong safety is considered to be closer to a linebacker usually plays a lot of run support.
I had no idea there was matching in cover 1. This is the best breakdown ever. I thought the middle linebacker was lined up on the rb the whole time and they actually switch.
Wow i been doing this for the last 4 years in man coverage I just never had the voice or platform to put it out, i got this concept from an article i read from bill belichiks scheme, this was how he utilized Revis and Brandon browner…good job Duece !
I would love you to find a trick that stops quarter flats ignoring outs/corners. they are supposed to play it from inside leverage ( so have a big disadvantage vs zigs for example) but flat out ignoring is so horrible incorrect.
It is worth mentioning none of the coverage adjustments work for cover 2 rat/robber. The man assignments do not change when the safeties occupy the 3 rec.
awesome video! you are the best! I always learn new things from all your videos. Thank you! Also, can you please do an updated cover 4 match video? I am not sure if anything has changed this year?
Another Gem. Thanks for labbing this Deuce! Would you use this primarily against trips sets? How would you use this against 2x2 sets? Also, last year, I used cover 6 versus trey y flex type of sets. Would this tip work better than cover 6 with match on? Thanks again!
Quarters defense match based off the routes ran and the sets they come out in…it’s not cross cross lol, they’re matching due to the routes your opponent is running
Just subbed your channel. I like the way you explain. On a side note. Is there a way to throw passes, other than high and low, to inside and outside with old gen like you can in new gen?
Not exactly sure how the field is lined up in Madden. Nor do I remember the divider rules for and NFL field where the hashes are very tight to the inside of the field but for a college lined field the dividers are 5-1-middle, for a high school lined field they are 5-1-bottom I contend you need to play inside and on top of both the #1 and the #2 against this formation. The #3 and the #1 weak side you can play outside and underneath. Dividers exist because we wanna give the guys covering an idea of whether or not the middle field post safety can help them or not.... Its all Saban stuff from his days in Cleveland This is any Middle Field Closed Coverage not just cover 1
Thanks for the nice reply. Yeah the slot could be shaded inside. Ultimately it is up to you. I just don’t want to give up the corner route. Can be adjusted depending on the opponent too
@@deuceclose Slots are pretty much always inside of the divider... Play outside trail technique. The Corner route should literally run into you... Any whips or pigtail routes (deeper whips) will do the same If dude runs vertically say a Vert or Post then let the Free Safety do his job. We dont want 2 DBs playing the same leverage on a route just like we dont want 2 hats in the same gap in the run game
Usering the blue is almost too effective, posts and winning deep over the middle vs man is rare ( only one route i know of) just gotta handle corners to both sides from that spot.
For current gen: Go to zones in coaching adjustments and set to default to have match “off”. Set to “match” to have it on. Don’t think old gen has that. But in old gen zone drops, and play the sticks will turn off match defense
This is top notch labbing. Had no idea you could individual shade players. As always, superb videos bro.
This is insane labbing. Had no idea this was even in madden lol actual props to madden for incorporating real football logic on this coverage
Bruh 😂 you can't be serious .....ppl get so caught up on ppl stuck on meta that they forget man is in the game an claim it doesn't work. It's sad.

Shading cobersge has been in the game for over 10 years fam 😅
Thank you. Blew my mind with some of these adjustments. No idea why no one else is talking about it like this.
Tryna keep it a secret for themselves lol
You killed it with the breakdown. Learned some great gems I was not aware of.

In past year shading was there but it never worked properly people over looked it for years but now its definitely something to be looked into again

Superb video man. I appreciate it. Helps tremendously.
Let me understand the setting are outside/over the top, and with the running back and TE inside?

Sure. Will likely do a Palms one soon

Excellent content as always brother
Does this apply for Madden 24??

I like Cover 1 against most sets in this game. Maybe not so much with compressed sets though. I like Cover 6 and Palms against Trips TE
@@deuceclose thanks for your insight as always dude!
@@deuceclose what do you like against tight formations?
How do you shade individually. I can't find it
There are instructions in the video. Should be there. Y, A, then receiver icon
How do you counter this out of bunch
Really great video, thank you. Do you have to do the shading every play? Or just once
Yes every play your going to have to set the shading
What happened to the Matchup Stick?
So it’s a bug. I was wondering why in Quarters if I make certain adjustments the damn safeties would cross cross.

So now that we can individually shade and it works what do you think the spotlight adjustment does?
Spotlight helps your safety react to the route/wr you spotlight quicker it works.

The new pass lead mechanic? Not sure if they added it to current gen. I heard it’s just Madden 22 with new rosters?

Ther is no such thing as default shade. There not shaded inside or outside automatically unless you shade them ….
I respectfully disagree

Ha everything is grass bro!
not being able to shade match is ok, glitches in the coverage/technique are not cool and leverage not existing in madden is plain wrong/criminal.
Sort of dissapointed that you are jumping on the meta even if it is your own flavour. shows how bad madden is this year.
