These homeless are addicted to fentanyl pills called blues, M30, fetty. They contain: fentanyl, sedative benzo, horse tranquilizer, rat poison, and milk or baby powder. This cocktail of nasty chemicals is horrible and if you smoke it only once, you are addicted to it for life. It's just that strong. Street homeless only wanna stay as close as possible to their fentanyl dealers. Nothing else matters. These homeless if they are having bicycles or scooters, they work as fentanyl dealers till they are not functional any longer, but then they are easily replaced. The main reason why we are seeing massive street homelessness is because we created armies of people who are flirting with drugs for fun or self medication purposes. They do not even realize they have been smoking marijuana laced with fentanyl which eventually turns them into homeless thieves and death is just around the corner. All street drugs are laced with fentanyl nowadays including street marijuana. Many will die from fentanyl overdose, or drugs related violence.

Homeless issues were here 10-20 years ago. 1/2 acre of Hell on B street 20 years ago here in Sacramento. From 2019 to 2021 the homeless population in Sacramento doubled, from 5000 to 10,000. Gov has little to do with any of that. Covid, skyrocketing rent, lack of mental health care and ability to pay for it, the causes are many, you cannot claim it's just the Governor. Well, I suppose you can, but you lack any support other than your own wishful thinking and belief. You also offer zero solutions. This is more a city and local issue. Politicians kick the can down the street and have for a good 30 years. Where are you going to put 10,000 homeless people with all sorts of trauma and mental issues? Blame is easy, so is fear. We need better law to deal with this. They need to be rehabilitated somewhere and they should not be anywhere near locals. We need to keep Sacramento and any other places in California safe and secured. They should not be near schools, parks, restaurants, recreational area. I was just pumping gas and a homeless guy suddenly was preaching next to my car door, I was so scared, I thought he might steal my car or maybe hurt me or take my stuff. My pump was already hooked to my gas, so I didn’t have a choice, I had to go out of my car again and pull it off hurriedly praying everything will be fine. The park listed in the article is a few miles south, there are similar parks all that direction, or towards down downtown, or north of town, East, West etc filled with homeless camps. NIMBYism will prevent any shelters or tiny home solutions. I get it, folks are concerned about their home values. Every time the city tries to build a shelter, it gets shot down and the city gets threatened. 500 people that are homeless is alot, 2000 is a lot, 10,000 is 1/2 the entire population of Dixon.

@@ShuKatashSam US has a vast land, there are those small towns that are dilapidated, the government can easily restore places like that or build an enclosed facility to accommodate lawless individuals to follow stricter rules, the place should not be a prison but it will be similar to it. In the rehab facility they could learn to follow laws, be helped from mental instability if needed, if it is too severe they can be sent to an asylum, if they are just regular homeless people who lost hope in life, they can stay and learn ways to climb up the social ladder again, learn skills, be fed, but they will have to work on the food they bring to their table, they can learn how to plant, tend animals, cook etc.. you know… something in relation to this.. this is just my simple example, for sure someone brighter than me will be able to put up something similar. In regards to the thousands, the government doesn’t need to accommodate everyone in one place, the US is a massive land, there can be several places to put up a facility away from the public and common people. At least if there is this kind of place, there will be fear from some of the homeless people who doesn’t dare or refuse to work just because they are receiving money from the government which they use to buy drugs and vices instead of using it for their food etc.. they will have goals that they need to step up or else they could be sent to this rehabilitation facility. So if you switch out homeless for Jewish people wouldn’t that be considered Anti-Semitism? “South Sacramento residents say Jewish people are holding local park hostage.” All homes less people aren’t holding the Park “hostage” super generalized. Why aren’t the same consequences issued as if it were deemed Anti-Semitic? Because it’s homeless instead of Jewish?

Face it, the problem isn't the political party. Democrat or Republican. It's money in politics. It's the ludicrously out of control lobbying. It's the fact that big companies in the retail sector have so much sway in policy that they've created a situation where they can charge huge prices for homes to the point where we've got a housing crisis.

Secondly, I volunteer a LOT of my time to veterans'issues. Including volunteering as a peer mentor. Including volunteering for Operation Stand Down. Including personally hosting 4 destitute vets in my home, rent free until their benefits kick in. You see, I'm a combat wounded and service connected vet myself. One rule. ZERO TOLERANCE for drugs or alcohol. It's worked out for those that want to do better. Not so much for those that put their personal "recreation" ahead of themselves and those around them. So I KNOW the score, toots. You're not gonna be successful in your attempts to BS and bluster me.
Incidentally, I'm hosting an Afghan refugee family as I write this.
